Wanna hear a story? All tucked in? Here...we go. Once upon a time very long ago back in the 80s, this plaza was erected. I remembered coming here and parking was never a problem (You know how painful it is now with so many Chinese drivers, even with the underground parking) In the same shopping center, the department store was upscale back then (Not like 2nd rate items they sell here now) There was never a light back then on Del Mar by the entrance. (So you can imagine how difficult it was to get in and out of here) As for the inside, it is just massive. I believe this is probably the biggest 99 Ranch that I have ever been to. They need it, theres a lot of foot traffic for this store. The best part about this place is the grocery and the meat /seafood. Grocery is a plenty here and they fry the fish for you for free back then. (Im not sure about now). The prices are okay here, especially when its on sale. Layout is similar to that of other 99 Ranch stores where you can find a bread section, a hot food section, a newspaper / expensive liquor section. What I really like here is that you can get soy milk via some of the local vendors, like VK. (Although they are only maybe 2 miles down the street). I like also getting the dry spicy bean curd snacks here. Lines are never long here unless you come here on the weekends. Oh yeah, there are enough checkouts here if they have enough cashiers on hand. Dont park on the left side of the store along the side. It will take you forever to get out as people are driving in. If you do have to park there, see if you can back in. Youll find me here rarely nowadays. But this was my first 99 Ranch and it always reminds me of good memories when Im here.

One of the BEST Asian markets in the "626". Parking and lines can be a nightmare on weekends and ESPECIALLY near key holidays and festivals in the Asian cultures with frantic shoppers rushing to do last-minute shopping. Very well stocked with lots of produce and goods. Sometimes, items (ie: meats) can be priced above the Monterey Park location, but overall its good value. The Hot Deli can satisfy the need for a quick bite, while the Bakery can satisfy the sweet tooth. There are also food samples around the stores, but primarily on weekends only. The portions can be laughably smaller than even a Costco one, but thats not a big deal... All in all, its no wonder the chain proclaims itself as "premier Asian shopping experience". This store is practically the flagship and is also a glowing example for rivals in the area.

This is THE Asian Supermarket in the area. Its big, its got a ton of Asian food selections (primarily Chinese with a number of options for Japanese, Korean, Thai, Filipino and Vietnamese dishes). Their meat and seafood selection is also quite extensive, where youll find good prices versus the major American supermarket chain stores. The food is also pretty fresh - you can buy live fish, crabs, lobsters, and other popular seafoods. There is a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, many of which youll only find in Asian grocery stores. Note that this place does get crowded on the weekends with many Asian families doing their shopping after enjoying some of the many local cuisines in the plaza/city. So come early if you want to find easy parking!

(0 star) Vegetables - AVOID them at this San Gabriel store. Majority of the vegetables here do not last for more than 2 days in the fridge. (2 stars) Fruits - Good if you just happen to buy the first batch/shipment. If you visit this store on the weekly basis, youll realize that some fruits are the very same batch they put up weeks ago. (5 stars) Fishes - One of the best place to buy fresh fishes. (3 stars) Dry goods - About half of the products are from China. It seems to be the trend among the major Chinese supermarkets. (5 stars) Can foods - Good selection and quality. (3 stars) Perishable goods (refrigerator section) - Hit or miss. (3 stars) Deli - OK for the price.

Currently the whole of Ranch 99 Market is under a floor display renovation. Though a couple of the aisles may have empty shelves... it is definitely nice to see the completed new aisles ... this upgrade is proving to make the store looking better. I cant wait until this is completed. It could be looking spectacular. This is one of the best supermarket to pick up many of the Asian foods and treats. But because they are still in the renovation phase. I would recommend a visit after the completion of this new phase.

This is one of bigger 99 Ranch in the area, they offer variety of takeout food stand included sushi as well. No bakery here unlike Arcadia. Parking can be nightmare during weekend. The structure parking is a bit of walk to the market. The parking spot tend to be most full near the market doesnt help either. But weekday is fine most of time. I like 99 ranch, I see discount the item I usually wanted to buy.

Wow, this place looks AMAZING after the total renovation. Its clean, well organized, with clear and cheerful signs. It is now definitely THE best-maintained 99 Ranch Market in SoCal. Love it! (I used to hate it because it was messy, dirty and people shopping there seemed in foul mood...)

Always really crowded, somewhat inconvenient to park, and difficult to get help if you need it. Huge and vast selection of products, but with the number of other Asian market choices in the area, I wouldnt normally pick this one.

One of the largest and well-organized Chinese supermarkets in the San Gabriel Valley carrying various Asian and American Products. However, there is a lot of parking spaces for such a large strip mall.

Chinese supermarket with a healthy selection of East Asian goods. However, pricing may be slightly more expensive than your average supermarket.
