This place always has some crazy line at night, especially in a weekend. We got lucky and when we got there, no line and 2 empty tables. We were seated quickly. About 5 minutes later people are writing their name on the clip board. Theres a 20 minimum for using credit cards. We waited about 10 minutes to order. There was one waiter for the entire place. He took orders, brought your food, seated people, cashier, and cleared tables. It was insane and he was smiles the whole time. Service was bad but considering there should have been 2 or 3 other people working Im going to tip him will. The desserts were good, we didnt order from the food menu but a lot of people did.

Customer service was not their best quality here by the way. We seated ourselves and waited a while to order, get our food, and check out. Parking can be difficult to find here as well. The restaurant was a little small. I would estimate that the maximum capacity was 20 people. In regards to their food, I would say its average. You get what you pay for. I got the coconut milk with grass jelly (I believe) and it was recently sweet. Not over the top which was a good midnight snack. We also got popcorn chicken. It was nothing special and had to season it with this spicy Japanese powder. Would I come back here? Yeah I would. The food here is affordable.

Try the watermelon sago! Its very refreshing and delicious. They load tons of fruit into it so your are for sure getting your five-a-day no doubt about it. If fruit sago isnt your thing, they have tons of other sago and sweet desserts that are a must try. It reminds me Hong Kong and eating at all the dessert shops. The servings are so big that I dont finish most of the time. You never have to worry about them ripping you off with teeny tiny serving sizes. The waitress is really nice. The moment you sit down she brings over cups of hot all for your whole party before you even say anything to her. Love it!

A good variety of Hong Kong tong shui made with simple ingredients. Reasonable pricing. Definetly the best in the area, although its far from the stuff youd get at Honeymoon Dessert. Usually a wait- there are only three working staff. I would recommend the red bean tapioca drink if youre looking for something unique. Sago is good too. The sweet sesame soup isnt the best, however. Also, I wouldnt recommend any of the savory stuff.

Great little Asian dessert place with many choices of sago and fruit. I come here with my friends during late nights when I am around the Sunset. I enjoy the tea and the quick service by their workers. The staff are friendly and attentive to customers. The place is usually filled on the weekends, so be prepared to wait a few minutes to get a table and the place is cash only.

Ive been coming here since I was little, so for about 10-15 years, and they are just a great place to hang out with friends and share some fruity desserts and drinks. They also have some food dishes if you want something more to fill you up. I like what they make, it tastes good and pretty natural but it is alittle pricey compared to other asian dessert houses

Like Hong Kong Kowloon, Golden Island serves Asian desserts but with a much smaller menu and restaurant space. There was a short wait on Thursday...very strange indeed. Despite fewer toppings as options, I prefer Golden Island because they use less sugar. Would highly recommend the mango with sago and coconut milk, add rice dumplings. Yum!

Golden Island Cafe is mainly known for theyre desserts. They have sago and a variety of main dishes such as noodles and sandwiches. It is a good dessert place to go to when you are feeling bored. The service there is a bit slow and isnt up to customers expectations. But, overall it is a good experience!

Pretty full menu with anything from drinks (non-alcoholic), snacks, and main dishes. Ive only had milk tea and popcorn chicken with the popcorn chicken definitely being above average. Reasonable prices, though they do have a $20 minimum for credit card charges.

This is a great place for late night desserts. They also offer some savory food options such as sandwiches and instant noodles. I come here for desserts such as the mango sago, silken tofu, and peanut over rice balls.

Sloooooooooooooooow. Waited an hour and the queuing system is a joke. Big table take precedence over ppl who waited for more than 30 mins. Dessert only just average. No apology even sent out the wrong order

The prices are super cheap here and the drinks are pretty good. Parking is not too hard to find if youre willing to drive through the neighborhood a little to find a spot.

Everyone comes here for the mango sago. But i personally do not like it. I personally recommend the watermelon sago. Its one of the best in the town in my opinion (:

Great for decently priced desserts or savory foods for late night cravings. Food is delicious and home-y The place is small and can get quite crowded.

Cash if under 20, otherwise they accept card. If you have a favorite item or specific craving, best to call ahead to see of they are still serving it.

Great HK style desserts. Lose two points for having only one server for a lot of people (the whole restaurant). Please get more servers.

Not the best Chinese dessert in town for sure. But location is good if you want to hang out longer after dinner in Sunset district.
