The Outlets at San Clemente is a relatively new outdoor shopping center located very close to the 5 freeway. One of my favorite things about this place is how easy it is to pull right off the freeway and be there in minutes. The mall has a clean fresh appeal to it. The bathrooms are even nice and have a very high end look with expensive looking construction materials. I hope they continue to stay looking that way. One of the first things that seem to get destroyed in public places are the bathrooms. Shopping is easy with nice large walkways and courtyards. Crowds are typically minimal. Im guessing that just not that many people are familiar with this shopping center yet. There a many opportunities for growth and vacant spaces here and there. Ive seen that expansion of this shopping center every time I visit, with a few new stores opening here and there. Some of my favorite are; Columbia, Sketchers, Calvin Klein and Eddie Bauer. My wife and I always drop in at U-Swirl for some yogurt. Dining is limited with new restaurants opening soon. For now, we have been stopping at Panera Bread. There is a Blaze Pizza located at the perimeter of the parking lot. Speaking of parking lot, right now there is plenty of parking in a very large parking lot around the outside of the shopping center.

An outlet mall thats only been a couple of years old. Relatively, its still pretty new because there arent many stores or restaurants. It has been promised that theyll be opening more stores and restaurants this year, so maybe that will make this place more "popular". However, I like the fact that it is the way it is, because its not as crowded as other outlet malls. It has the brands and places I like the most, namely Nike, Under Armour, and Chocolate Factory! It does have an ocean view, somewhat. Lots of parking spaces and it goes down one more floor. Theres live music every weekend and they have events whenever theres a major holiday. The events are fun, because like I said, its not as crowded as other places. Seems like it might be a dog friendly place, Ive seen some people with their dogs here. Not entirely sure. There are lots of outdoor seating scattered around the place. Since I live in the area, its nice to just walk around. They have a VIP program where if you spend enough money here, you get to hang around in their special VIP lounge. It has its own special bathroom and it has snacks and refreshments.

You see a few deals here and there, but not as we were lead to believe. They say the food establishments are going to be good, but when? Wheres that steak house? The ocean view restaurants? Lose the food trucks, and give us the real deal! Rubys should have been there first to open in the beginning, and a year later, the place is still a skeleton inside. You can go drifting within the parking structure anytime. Its always empty. But the shade is good. Lets get a classic car meet going there. There will never be a lack of space. Theres no shielding from the heat, nor the rain (if it ever rains again that is). As for the trails, theyre nice. The parks are ok. The new homes are a joke! Overpriced, and so close together that when the next quake hits, theyll probably brush up against one another. I still shop, and dine on Del Mar, and at the Pier. The REAL San Clemente...You know? To describe the mall in one word.... overrated! Thank you.

To be fair this review was written before all stores and restaurants had opened so keep that in mind. The location is pretty nice for a shopping mall its well situated near the coast for fresh air and decent views. The mall has an interesting Spanish Mission style design and lots of open places. There is a massive amount of parking but it seems to be overkill considering the stores and restaurants located there are not very numerous and not all that exciting (Vans, Nautica, H&M, Panera etc). It could be partially the current low traffic or maybe the big empty expanses of bright fresh white paint but it seemed a little stark and dull overall. It could be a nice location when its all said and done but it has a ways to go to be compelling place to shop and visit.

Its somewhat new and beautiful and also has an awesome ocean view, but its still not exactly what I envisioned it would be when I first heard about it. There are still quite a few vacant spots and not that many places to eat yet. The stores are okay, not really the type of brands that I would normally shop for, and the prices are not really anything to call home about. Ive never seen the place or any of the stores anywhere near crowded, so if youre looking for a quiet place to shop, this may be for you. Once they put in a few more restaurants, I think it will greatly improve. Its also always windy here so make sure you bring a jacket!

The new Luxury Mall store opened about 3 weeks ago. I bought an expensive purse from Luxury Mall store. When I bought it the lady assured me that I could return it and get my money back if my wife didnt like it. I tried to return it and get credit back to my credit card. Lady said they dont do that. But that I could exchange it for something else in the store before 8 Jan2017. Not being able to return the purse is really bad marketing and I will never enter one of their outlets again.SO BEWARE PEOPLE IF YOU BUY THERE YOU CANT GET YOUR. ONEY BACK FOR A RETURN.

Misleading branding. Should just be called the Coastal Shops instead. This way people who travel here wont be disappointed when they see how pricey it is. No one is going to come here from the south, with the few stores here just duplicating same stores in Carlsbad. Carlsbad has way better selection. Some have pointed out the prices are better in Carlsbad too. There is no reason to drive here from the north either, with better values and choices at the Mission Viejo Mall. Perhaps more people will come once a more accurate name and marketing is used.

Dont waste your time, just go down to Carlsbad Premium Outlets that has a ton of stores and is only 30 minutes south. While the new mall is beautifully designed, there are very few stores of interest. Mostly outlets that make product specifically for the outlet store, such as Calvin Klein. I wish they would have made this a regular mall instead of an outlet. There was a lot of controversy in San Clemente when this mall was being planned and now I know why. Hopefully things change and I can update my review in the future.

I have lived in San Clemente for 30 years...The Mall is actually a nice looking Spanish style place to shop..Unfortunately,the dining experience is non existent... Some of the shops are worth checking out..It just needs to meet the needs of shoppers who make this spot a destination..Our down town is wonderful and quaint with many places to shop and dine..The pier and beach trail are a sight to see..So, if you are disappointed with the Outlet Mall check out our beautiful village downtown Del Mar street and beyond..

My wife and I have been here a couple times before in the last 12 months. We were shopping for some clothes here yesterday and were both very pleased with the good deals we found. Its a huge shopping complex and there are still more than a few empty shops. Some more diverse restaurants and a premium coffee shop would be some nice additions Parking is not a problem at all and there is even a large underground carpark.Once all the roadworks on the freeway are finished maybe things will pick up.
