Id do 2 1/2 stars if I could. Still not stellar. Not bad, but not great. My beef isnt even all on this location, though some is. As I said, not bad, not great. Beef with the location specifically is that it wasnt particularly timely or communicative. I had called most of the week trying to get a leaky brake line fixed the same time I came in to get my tires installed. The service department was awful at calling back. Twice I left a message for the supervisor with no results, so I was hoping the tune would change upon arrival. The very first time I called, they talked so fast with the spiel I couldnt hear any of it, so I asked if they could repeat it. They did with a teenage-esque huff, and a clearer "can you hold please." Fine, Im not really known for my bedside manner or customer service skills, but dont have people like me answer the phones. While I understand Pep Boys wont install aftermarket brake lines a customer brings in, those are the cards I was dealt-- it leaked, the manufacturer sent a free replacement, and the wheel would be off and itd be a big shop. Corporate needs to evaluate such safety related emergencies, though. Furthermore, with said warning that the brakes were bad, and that they should note it on the work order, they didnt. And I could see the workers flying through the lot into the service bay like it was fine-- I know damn well that brake pedal is about as soft as Sponge Bobs politics, and it shouldnt be anywhere near that last-minute for slowing. Then the guy who pulled it out and checked me out, same thing in terms of haste and last-minute slowing (he didnt really seem like he was as awake as maybe he should be, either). While I was there, I wasnt the only one frustrated with service, and I know that the ratings for this location are yet lower from where I had my tires bought and shipped from, and I see why.

I went in with a very small leak, a leak so small the engine light did not even go on. But I was unfamiliar with the area from where the leak originated so I decided to go there since the Pep Boys in Modesto had helped me out quiet a bit. It seemed alright at first, the standard 45 minute wait. I was then told would have the part delivered in fifteen minutes. Since I have a VW that made sense to me so I waited. I waited two hours, saw someone come in with a small part that looked like it had the picture of the part I needed. I waited another couple hours and figured it would be fixed by now. Nope, I had to finally get up and ask someone if they had gotten the part. I was told they had "juuuuust got it in." So Ive been waiting five hours at this point and maintain my composure and say okay. Another forty five minutes to simply put a plastic cap on a hose and they finally finish. WITHOUT PUTTING MORE RADIATOR FLUID IN AFTER I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THEM ABOUT IT. Moreover, I found a bent screwdriver in my engine compartment, and my car had the engine light on and was now in worse condition than it was when I first brought it there. They did not apologize for the wait, they never said anything or compensated me for leaving a hazardous tool in my car, and now they want to charge me for other problems they themselves may have caused. Ive been to some shady garages in my time, and Ive fixed cars on my own, and I have to say that this garage was poorly managed, undermanned, and consistently lied about how much time it would take. Than again maybe they know nothing about German cars and that is the reason everything went so wrong.

By far the WORST experience Ive ever had. I was there for 4 hours to change 1 tire. They told me it would be an hour and that turned into 3. After it took 3 hours to work on my car, I thought the worst was over. BOY was I wrong. They then took another hour trying to process their OWN PEP BOYS CREDIT CARD. It is clearly stated on a sign in the waiting room: "apply today, buy now." The credit card company gave my account number and verbalized my approval amount and PEP boys said they didnt have the right P.O.S system. They had the nerve to ask me to come back tomorrow and see if by then they have figured out how to get the card to work! How does that job fall on the customer? You could see the mechanics standing out there sharing stories and laughing vs. doing their Job. I knew there was going to be issues when the only customers in there were complaining about how horrible their experience has been. One lady said she was there for 3 hours for a simple oil change. Another customer, said he came in the previous week without an appointment and waited 4 hours. He was then told by an employee that if he made an appointment he would be in/out in an hour. To his dismay, he came back with an appointment and was told it would be 4 hours again. He said no way! You told me if I made an appointment Id be in/out in an hour. Cleary, PEP Boys is inefficient and incompetent. They have a sign that also says: "100% satisfaction or your money back." Lets hope they indeed stand by that.

I made an appointment here, knowing that places like this can be busy. I made my appointment at 9am got there at 850am filled out my paperwork and sat down at 903am. I thought, "Perfect, right on time!" At about 915am I saw that my car hadnt been moved to the bays. I thought, ok no problem, they are busy I allotted 1hr and 45mins of being here before my appointment for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Then after killing a significant amount of time (an hour and 15mins) I saw that my car had still not been touched. I wasnt spoken to my whole stay no, "I am sorry maam you made an appointment but we have many other cars this morning we might not make your appointment time" or "I am sorry for the inconvenience, we will get to your car soon." So, it came to the point where I had 30 mins left in my schedule and my car had still not been moved from the parking lot, I had not been talked to at all, and it was an hour and 15 mins passed the appointment that I was confirmed for. I asked for my keys and the man gave them to me and said nothing. I said, " I have to leave in 30 mins so..can I have my keys?" He handed me my keys and I left. I then got an email saying, "I am sorry YOU couldnt make YOUR appointment would you like to reschedule?" Ha. I would not come to this establishment unless you are dropping it off and you are not on a timeline. Appointments seem to not be respected at this establishment.

NEVER coming back. I gave them a 2nd chance and shouldnt have given them the benefit of the doubt. Lets just say they cannot complete a simple task in a timely manner and their online appointment setter is unreliable. All of the staff needs customer service training. Waited almost an hour after my appointment time for an oil change for the 2nd time and no communication from the maintenance staff or therefor anyone to update me regarding why my vehicle was still sitting there. You would think if you have an appointment you have senority and your vehicle will be seen at the time you requested but nope. Requested a 12pm appointment at 830am online and still had to wait the least they could have done was call me and notify me "Hello maam we see you have scheduled an appointment for noon today however, we are busy and there maybe a longer wait time than usual is it okay if we push your appointment time back or reschedule your service etc" This time I had to walkout went elsewhere they seen my vehicle as soon as I arrived and took no longer than 30mins for an oil change, top off fluids, tire rotation and Napa Auto Parts came to deliver a new air filter for my vehicle at the same time. Pep Boys is wack dont get your vehicle maintenanced here its a waste of your beautiful time...
