Just some constructive feed back. Ive been thinking about a review for a couple of days since visiting the shop. Felt compelled... Went in at opening 10am to get a few accessories. There were 4 people working and me; 2 techs, 1 assembling a bike and the manager. The counter was covered in Stuff for a lack of a better term (old bike parts and the like). The manager cleared a small spot for me to put stuff on the counter and I started to ask questions. The phone rings and instead of continuing to help me, asks me to wait while he takes a general sales call. (huge pet peeve) With 3 other workers there I thought I could get an assist from one of them, but I guess they are not qualified to be sales people (?). After the manager finished on the phone he did help out with a couple of questions, but then another guy came in to pick up a couple of bikes and off he went again. After waiting that out I picked out a tube and some other small stuff and then another guys walks up behind me and wants to get his shocks looked at. There goes the manager again... Let me qualify, I did get the products I was looking for, for the most part, and got the answers I was looking for and, while engaged, the manager was super nice. The reason for the average marks is because I felt like I was getting in their way, for the most part. In this age of local vs the big box store vs the internet its all about service. I wanted to go there to give them my local business and begin a relationship as I get ready for some upcoming bike touring, but feeling like I was in the way, Im not so sure. I, too, own a local small retail business and I want to see all of us succeed. How do we do that? Recognize the customer, answer questions, take messages when the phone rings while a live, paying customer is standing in front of you, engage the customer, have a fellow employee help the customer is something else comes up, walk the customer to their car if there is too much for one person to carry, etc... Super simple. Now if we could just invent some Harry Potter magic and make the inside of their store bigger to handle all their great inventory, wed be on to something!

The old manager, Z, is no longer at the shop, so his friend Mike now runs the place. Mike is very nice, mellow, and less of a "slick salesman" than Z. Mike and the two guys who work in the shop are very knowledgeable about all types and genres of bikes, and both seem to be great mechanics. I have taken my bike there 3 times to be repaired and the repairs and much better than Mikes Bikes ever did. I bought a fork and other components for a dj bike, and while one of the employees was building the bike Mike bought me a sandwich :) The have all types of bikes (BMX, XC, DJ, FR) except road bikes...but they fixed mine. Overall, good prices and great customer satisfaction. Highly recommended.

Woodside Bike is great bike shop. They are very friendly and knowledgable and their prices are very good. Greg, the owner, helped me find a dropper post for my mountain bike. They didnt have it stock so they ordered it and had it installed in a few days. I was so pleased I had them install tubeless tires on my mountain bike. I also had them tune my daughters hybrid bike and it now runs great. They are willing to listen and they try to make your bike just the way you like it. They also have mountain bike rentals.

Cool dudes who know how to fix a bike, road or mountain. For $80 for a full tune up and cleaning, really cant beat that in the bay area where most places will charge $90+. I asked for a possible brake pad change but, the staff let me know I didnt need it and let me know what was going on with the bike. Looking to make this place my main LBS in the bay area.
