In a world of delicious ice cream novelties that await my attention and wallet, patronizing Cream again is not on my to do list. After three weeks of curiosity, my friend and I strolled here after dinner. On a Wednesday night, the line was about 5 minutes long; not bad, given stories Id heard. Up at the front youre asked to choose a flavor of cookie and a flavor of ice cream. I wish wed been offered samples of the ice cream, as I definitely would have chosen differently. I got the salted caramel because, as I said to my friend, Ive never tasted anything like it. And I still havent... because the ice cream didnt taste like anything. It just tasted like cold. Meanwhile, there was a lemon zest flavor in the tubs that had not been listed in the menu. I would have gotten that for sure. Maybe thats flavorless, too, though. I was so excited to get the sandwich. It was warm and big and looked beautiful. But we quickly discovered its hard to eat. The cookies were hard, the ice cream shot out the sides, etc. I attacked it mouth-first, my friend tried a spoon. Both of us ended up frustrated and messy. I do appreciate that the whole thing is $2.50, as other ice cream desserts seem to run into the $4 range fairly often. But I really DONT appreciate the so-called cash discount of 50 cents. That amount seems out of line with how much credit card companies charge a business to use their credit card. And even if that is the *exact* amount, I dont appreciate that charge being passed on to me. Finally, why not improve the flavors? I hadnt read the Yelp reviews before going, and I wish I had as Id have known not to get the flavorless salted caramel. But if people consistently say its flavorless (likewise for other flavors), a good business owner would say, "Hey, our customers are unhappy with our product. Lets improve the product." As a customer, Id love to see that.

Je nai jamais été traité comme ça. La serveuse en plus de ne pas sourire, est super agressive lorsquelle te demande ce que tu veux. Clairement, on la fait chier et elle ne se gêne pas pour le montrer. Jai été à cet endroit vendredi 18 août vers 23h00. Cette serveuse ne devrait pas travailler là. Elle engueulait les clients. Nous ne sommes pas des chiens mademoiselle! Elle a ruiné ma sortie là bas. Je ne sais même pas si ma glace était bonne. Traumatisant!

The ice cream tastes great, everything other reviewers are saying. But the service and arrangement of the store could use improvement. The employees cant hear because theres a really tall vertical sneeze guard. My mother in law is in a wheelchair so it was impossible for her to hear the employees and vice versa, because the sneeze guard is directly in the way. After the employee came back with two cones of the wrong ice cream, the employee was agitated that we asked her to remake them. Also, the tubs of ice cream are too low and deep for the employees. They have to literally dive into the tubs, and end up getting their clothes covered in ice cream.

-- Disclaimer: Went in the post-dinner hours -- Waited for 30-45 minutes so that biases my expectation. Thought not artisinal ice cream (e.g. Icis, Bi-Rite), I really do enjoy the simplicity of an ice cream sandwich. The toasted cookies make a nice touch, but dont let your eyes fool you. One cookie is definitely enough for 2 people as the portions are very generous. As a business, Id love for them to evolve and build some sort of membership so you can order ahead... but I imagine much of the clientele are not repeat customers. Its nice to re-live my childhood but Im not that eager to wait that long...

This is a popular place with a long line that moves fast. The ordering is simple - you pick the cookies, decide if you want them warmed, pick the ice cream, & pick the toppings. They have other items but this is their main thing. I can see why it is popular. The service was good. During my 1st visit, they were out of one of the vegan cookies - I believe they have 4 or 5 options. Their eggless ice cream selection only has 2 floors. The vegan price is almost double the price of the regular cookies & ice cream. And the Yelp & FB deal they have with checkin is not for a vegan cookie, so I was not happy about that.

Love the concept and result. I just wished they had more locations. Always a good dessert option and fun to bring first timers or visitors here and see their faces! Also, dont forget to check-in on yelp for a free cookie! It would be a 5 stars but with all that sweetness they dont have a water fountain and in a few occasions I got hard cookies. I know, youll say you should have told them to get a soft and warm one, but thats the difference betwern a 4 and 5 star rating: the staff should notice its a hard cookie when preparing it and not even give it to customers in the firat place.

Passable ice cream but the people working here are totally apathetic. They were out of a bunch of flavors, the one guy serving disappeared into the back for a couple minutes for no apparent reason leaving a line of puzzled customers, then charged us for an item that they realized they couldnt make after they took the order. Oh, wait, they could make it they just misplaced an ingredient. Finally, the place was a total mess. No thanks.

An older location that was fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon. The place seemed clean overall and the staff helped customers quickly. Pricing wasnt too bad ($4.99 for two cookies and ice cream), but I never got offered my topping that was supposed to be part of the deal. Another downside would be they dont give you a container or cup to put your ice cream sandwich in, just a wrapper, which doesnt really work too well.

Like ice cream? Like cookies? Then this is the place to go! You can make your own ice cream sandwich. 2 cookies and 1,2 or 3 scoops of ice cream and you have a custom built dessert! I had the double chocolate chip cookies and 2 scoops of the chocoholic ice cream. It was fantastic. Glad they dont have one near me. I will be back later rather than sooner because I am trying to stay under 300 lbs! Enjoy!

Cream is a very fun place to come in Palo Alto because they play great music and its ice cream so what more could you ask for! They specialize in ice cream cookie sandwiches. You can choose two different cookies for your sandwich and they also have many ice cream flavors to choose from. I love their rainbow sprinkles. There is always a line. It stays open super late on weekends which is awesome.

Cream offers a fun idea of picking your own cookie and ice cream flavor to make an ice cream sandwich! The price is really reasonable and the portion size is good. I really like the snickerdoodle cookie paired with their coffee ice cream. The location is great, right in the downtown area. Its perfect for grabbing dessert after lunch or dinner at one of palo altos delicious eateries.
