Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh. Where to start?!? From the everyday flavors to the flavors of the month, everything is beyond divine. The lavender is one of my favorites, as well as the almond poppy seed. They have dairy free options as well and Im a huge fan of the Cherry Lime sorbet. The line can sometimes wrap around the building, but it is always worth the wait. Plus you get to smell the heavenly waffle cones the whole time, which just amps up the extreme level of excitement for the sublime ice cream snackie youre about to indulge in. Their new location at Point Ruston is just as good, a larger space, and they picked the best spot ever for their second store. The only drawback is living so close to both stores and fighting the desire to drown myself in their ice cream ALL THE TIME.

I very nearly didnt walk in here, because I thought it was a hipster place... I had a bad experience in Seattle... Lavender and earl grey tea ice cream... *shudder*... This place... Is not that. It is, in fact, the antithesis. The people here just love making good ice cream and making their customers smile. Normal flavors like strawberry and Valhalla coffee, and some exotic ones, but nothing that tastes like they made it with lawn mower bag water... Stupid Molly Moo...

Local, organic and vegan options are a standard in our society. This does not mean you can charge me $7 for a sundae & then justify it by your higher choices, that I would expect to get walking into any business other than fast food. Lol I just moved from Seattle and bought a home in Tacoma, I wont support these money hungry souls again. And highly suggest that you dont either. The chocolate fudge was so over powering I couldnt even taste my ice cream. ):

I thought that I liked Ben & Jerrys ice cream until I came here. This is my new favorite ice cream place. They have their staple flavors, but also a rotating menu of seasonal flavors featuring local foods like the Valhalla coffee, the Mad Hatter Earl Grey ice cream (that one was so good) and all sorts of other great things like that. They have a bunch of vegan options as well. Plus there is a bike corral right out front so there is plenty of bike parking.

Love love love this place! The owner is so nice!! This place has thee best ice cream. Its addicting. I recommend trying the salted caramel and the lavender ice creams. Once you have their ice cream, its hard to enjoy manufactured store bought ice cream. All of their ice cream is hand made in down town Tacoma by the owner and her staff. I love the fact that youll see the owner behind the counter, sleeves rolled up, serving customers! A real luxury.

Delicious like you would expect. Creamy, exotic flavors that may or may not be on the menu of the day. The Lavender is wonderful. They also have dairy free options. So far, no sugar free varieties are available. The dine area is small and there may be a long line to order (not unusual to be out the door!). Dont worry, start a good conversation and youll be next in no time. Just be sure youve decided what to order to keep the line going.

Nothing is better than homemade icecream EXCEPT ice cream social. It tastes just like we made it ourselves, but you dont have to crank the ice cream maker and there are many more flavors to choose from. Weve been enjoying it this summer with our 90 degree weather! My husband loves the rocky road, our son & I love the salted caramel and even though it sounds odd = Strawberry Balsamic is one of my favorite flavors!

On a recent college tour swing my daughter and I made two visits. Verdict: good ice cream. I appreciated the simple menu: they have a limited selection of standard flavors, plus a few exotic options, e.g. Lavender, and Lemon Basil. I went with a Salted Caramel Sundae and a Strawberry Sundae. My daughter went with Lavender on day 1 and Lemon Basil the next day. Two thumbs up.

We went after a few pints and dogs next door at Red Hot. It was late, crowded and they were running out of ice cream. Therefore, I felt my order had a bit of a freezer-burnt consistency. Will definitely try it again, though, as hard ice cream seems to be pretty hard to come by (actually, practically non-existent!) in Tacoma.

They have vegan options!!!! Dairy free almond poppyseed and dairy free rocky road top my list!!! Its a pretty far distance for me, but my family and I make the trip at least once a week. Its that good! Staff is great and there is usually a quirky flavor somewhere on the board. A must, if you are eating around tacoma. :)

Local business makes good! This wonderful ice cream shop is a success story - the Isaac family started with an ice cream truck and has gone on to supply all the best restaurants in TTown with frozen treats. Quality ice cream, yummy flavours and they give back to the community. What more can Tacoma ask for??

Absolutely cant say enough great things about Ice Cream Social. If you are looking for really great small batch Ice Cream this is the place to go in Tacoma. They rotate flavors so each time you go there are different options. Oh, and I would get one of their hand made waffle cones, totally worth it!

When you approach Ice Cream Social you will know by the overwhelming smell of waffle cones, which are definitely worth getting. Dont be afraid to try the lavender or the fresh mint. If you want to have two flavors, I would recommend asking for a "split single" - the portions are generous.

This IS the place to go get real homemade ice cream and nowhere else. Whether Im craving some ice cream or I have my family coming down to visit or I just want to go there with my wife, this is one of the places I usually stop (and I mean weekly and monthly) i recommended to everyone!

Awesome, love this place! Im lactose intolerant, and they have a great rotating variety of non-dairy ice creams that taste awesome. The vegan fudge sauce is very good and should also be tried! They will let you sample the ice cream before you decide, so dont be shy about asking

If you visit during off-peak times, you can easily score a seat to savor your treats. They have so many great flavors with creative options daily that rotate through. Last time I tried the pecan flavor and it was heaven. With the renovation, its much easier to get in and out.

Everyone loves it, but I guess I am to simple when it comes to ice cream because they have never had a flavor beyond strawberry that has interested me. I generally like quite a few flavors, but I feel like ice cream social takes it to far. Just doesnt live up to the hype.

Chipped a tooth on the waffle cone :( but the ice cream is amazing! Lavender, Earl Grey, and of course the Valhalla coffee are my favorites. Smells amazing too. Worth trying, but watch out for the cones and plan for long lines when its warm/sunny outside.

Always amazing, locally owned, its delicious. Daily flavors join favorites and vegan options mean everyone screams for ice cream. The handmade waffle cones are worth paying a bit more. If its warm expect to stand in line. You wont be disappointed.
