Once again 5 stars to me means everything and I mean this place has been there for a long time it is great food and everything sometimes the people that work there or a little touchy and a little impatient but I guess thats life but not giving it a five-star because of the level of cleanest I should not be able to look in between the board and the ice cream cases or donut cases and see nothing but junk gum empty wrappers thats completely nasty and its made me and a few people not want to go there I would clean it up if I was you post a picture Ill come back

Tonallis Donuts is a great, totally underrated (slept on) donut shop. This is your grandfathers donut shop. None of that foo-foo, michellan starred, micro prepared flour alternative donuts seasoned with free range bee kisses: maple bars, cake donuts, glazed twists, old fashioned, with or without sprinkles...you name it, Tonallis does it, and they do it well. Its simply a bonus that they also serve ice cream and, if you want, they even make a variety of savory, sandwich fare. I totally recommend Tonallis.

I really enjoy the donuts here. I sampled the ice cream, not bad. But I go here for the consistent selection of donuts they offer. I really appreciate consistency. You can always ask if any of the donuts just came out and are still warm. Those are delicious! Their buttermilk is also super-flavorful, and my stand-by favorite, the apple fritter, here is quite good. I also really like their maple bars. Oh, and one of the best parts? They have a plastic bags recycling bin in the corner!

Unlike some other extremely hyped ice cream shops nearby, this place never has a line. This is worth a 4-star review in and of itself. Sure you wont find flavors that are too far out of the ordinary , but you wont pay $7 for two scoops of ice cream either. Its an ice cream store, not a "Gastronomical Experience". Get a donut or two while youre here , they costa lot less than $3 a pop... And no line down the street! (unlike other donut places that will remain nameless...)

I reallly dont want to write this EXCELLENT REVIEW! because then everyone will go there and eat all the WORLDS BEST FRITTERS. I love the blueberry fritters and the apple fritters, and I have tried some other donuts that were good too but I love the fritters. I have grown used to Safeways Fritters, they SUCK and I wont touch them again since I have had tonallis Donuts. But dont tell too many people or it wont be a best kept secret!

This is one of the few old school Portland establishments. This isnt salt and straw, or a fancy new cart or any other gimmick mainstays in this new Portland we have now. And thanks gods for that. This place is fantastic. There are few establishments that defined portlands best most recent golden era.. Old haunts like the Meow Meow that you either get it or you dont... this place gets it. Much respect.

Its a great old donut place, open till midnight, the staff is all teenage to young adult girls which can be good or bad but most everyone has been nice and intelligent. Its got a dive type feel and could use a few healthier options in the drink cooler, but its still a great no frills spot. I do wish they had more croissants, I had one once.... Just once and I have been 10 or so times now.

Was in Portland for a conference and went to the Last Thursday event on Alberta Street on Sep 29. That evening someone told me that Tonallis was better that the famous Portland dount shop seen on the travel channel and food network. I had the "Apple Supreme." I took one bite and almost passed out it was so good. Best pastry I think Ive ever had. Jim, Fort Walton Beach, FL

This place is the best! Its the place the locals come to, where the tourists will flock to Salt and Straw. Tonallis Donuts are the best in town. They have a better Bacon Maple Bar than Voodoos. And the Ice Cream is local Oregon creameries Cascade Glacier and Umpqua brands on stock with a lot of flavors. Come on in and enjoy the magic.

Screw Salt n Straw with their LONG ASSED LINES and their ridiculous PRICES and their DELICIOUS ICE CREAM. This place is a couple blocks east on Alberta ... Umpquah Ice Cream at its best. HUGE scoops for little money and the bakery goods are incredibly delicious. NO LINES and LOW prices. Why would anyone go to Salt EVER AGAIN ?????

This shop has excellent classic donuts. I had never heard of this place but was in the area; a friend and I stopped in on a whim and we were very pleasantly surprised by how good they were. The staff was also super friendly. Would definitely recommend over the more popular donut shops in town!

When salt and straw has a line that smothers neighboring businesses, I go here instead. Scratch that, I always go here when I am on Alberta. The ice cream is good, its cheaper, and there is no line. Its a great place to get a scoop or a milkshake. Forget salt and straw, its overrated.

Best. Buttermilk bar. Ever. The other options looked great too. Friendly service and awesome old timey donut shop prices. Also loved that they were fully stocked at a weird donut-eating time (is 5 pm a weird donut-eating time?) This place is too dangerously close to my office. Yum!!

This is the best donut shop in Portland. Period. Full stop. Bar none. Good old fashioned donuts. None of that fancy voo-doo bs. Just donuts. Tasty tasty donuts. No giant line of tourists, no silly pink boxes. Donuts. And ice-cream if you want it. Coffee too. Get some.

Love it for the late night ice cream and doughnuts. They serve burgers, fries and shakes as well. Never had the shakes but the food is good. 4 stars for quick service, late hours, and bubble gum ice cream. I drive from Beaverton to stop by here and get my fix!

If you want delicious, mouth-watering classic style donuts, this is the place in Portland to go. Their old fashioned glazed donuts are the best! They have a cake-like flakiness to them that melts in your mouth. I love these sweet treats that are also cheap!

Family owned and run. Best doughnuts around. If you want good ice cream, the Salt and Straw is worth the wait down the street because this place has extremely sweet and unnaturally colored ice cream. They are best for their doughnuts, and very sweet.

Best donuts in Oregon. After tasting my way through a couple dozen shops in the Portland, Eugene, and Bend areas these are by far the best donuts I have found. Crispy on the outside and just the right amount of chew, Tonallis has perfected the donut.

Just a great corner (literally) donut shop. The blueberry fritter us on point. (I am a sucker for anything blueberry, though) Its crispy outside, moist and plenty of fruit inside. Its not overly sweet and goes perfect with a simple cup of coffee ☕.

Feels like a step up from a regular doughnut shop without going full "Blue Star" fancy or "Voo Doo" crazy. They will put a hot doughnut n a cup with ice cream on top, and its awesome. They have classic doughnuts, and some unique ones. Great spot.
