Walk the endless corridors of Home Depot and you are lucky if you see 2-3 employees appearing to man the entire ship. Not so at Pini Ace Hardware. There seem to be helpful staff in almost every aisle of the store as well as people up front to greet you and ask if they can help you. I simply cant say enough about the huge difference ample staff makes in the shopping experience at a business with so varied an inventory. My husband and I went to this shop for the first time with a big list of very diverse items we needed - everything from a cork board to a pink light bulb. One of the staff members walked us from aisle to aisle, helping us find exactly what we needed in minutes rather than the hours it would have taken us to locate everything on our own in an unfamiliar shop. I also want to add that while shopping, my hair scarf came loose from my hair and I lost it. We were just about to start retracing our steps to find it when another of the staff members walked up and returned my scarf to me...said hed noticed it in my hair when I walked in the door. Frankly, we were dazed by this level of attentiveness. Pini Ace Hardware is well worth supporting and is offering a really valuable service to the local community. Understaffing is a bane of the majority of stores in California. We were incredibly impressed with this stores different way of doing business and putting customer care first. Will be shopping here again!

While certainly not as cheap as Home Depot, they have a reasonably good selection, and great customer service. They have a pretty good selection of plumbing, electrical, irrigation, tools, paint, hardware, and more. They are definitely not the place to go for Lumber, or building supplies, but I think anyone going there probably already knows that (and goes to Novato Builders Supply....). Its a great example of good customer service and selection. Love Pini Ace!

You cant beat this neighborhood hardware store. The people are extremely helpful and always available. It is the Nordstroms of hardware stores. They allow dogs in the store and always have treats available. My dog wont let me go there without her. While they dont have everything, I always stop here first to see if they do. Always better than standing in the vastness of Home Depot with their 2 sales associates per every 10 aisles and those 2 are clueless.

Hands down the best hardware store. Always someone around there to help you. I love that if the person your talking to doesnt have an answer, they quickly talk to one another for help via their headsets. Just a great group of people. I would rather spend a few dollars more here than go to that place "HD"...where there is never anyone knowledgeable available. Ive been going to Pini since there were on Grant, glad they got more space.

Great store. leaps and bounds better than Home Depot. On most visits I cant get 30 feet into the building without a friendly employee asking me if they can help me find what Im looking for. Prices are usually 5-10% higher than Home Depot, but its certainly worth it - way better than driving out of my way to get to Home Depot or Lowes.

Seriously exceptional customer service. While they may not have everything they come extremely close. Excellent, if not the best selection of nuts and bolts in the area. If they dont have what you need you will be met with great advice on how to get it done and what to do/where to go next.

Wished that they had a little more of a selection when it comes to yard items (was looking for a hammock stand, could only order online). Otherwise, would give 5 stars. But other than that, great customer service and a great hardware store!

Stop shopping at home depot. They have most of what you need and with knowledge able friendly staff. I never need to return anything because they help you correctly the first time.
