The quality of this Ace Hardware is in keeping with what you will find elsewhere at well-run Ace Hardware shops. I am almost always pleasantly surprised when I visit an Ace to discover that it is really well-staffed and well-stocked. The big hardware/housewares chain stores in Sonoma County (many of which have gone out of business) suffered from not employing enough personnel to assist customers, leaving them wandering around huge, empty aisles trying to find things. Not so at Tomasini Rex Ace Hardware. A saleswoman asked if we needed help and the line at the register was short. Most importantly, this hardware store is one of the few that carries Revereware Copper Bottom pots and pans. No other stores in Petaluma do so, and considering that the Petaluma Outlet Mall has 2 kitchen stores and neither carry this basic, high quality cookware, Tomasini Rex earns 3 stars from me just for offering this essential product. They also have a good supply of various cooking gadgets (steamers, masheres, peelers, etc.) You can expect a good Ace-type experience here, much superior to what you will have at a Home Depot type store, and so I am marking this store average with 3 stars. I am docking them one star for having a taxidermy polar bear in their window. Considering the dieoff of polar bears in the North, I find this display to be in poor taste. I wish they would consider removing it, as it made my family depressed.

Have been trying to fix a leak in the garden hose faucet for weeks now. Kept going to other stores and no one seemed to be able to tell me what parts I needed, or even tell me what was wrong. Was going to give up and call the plumber but thought I would give Ace a shot. they have been helpful in the past and the guy I talked to knew almost instantly what the problem was, showed me the parts I needed and how to repair it. Went home this afternoon, and had it fixed in under an hour. That faucet has been leaking for months. Should have gone here first. Great service.

Rex Ace turned out to be one of the most helpful places when it came to finding a certain sized lightbulb I was looking for. The salesman helped me promptly and explained how they didnt carry the product but directed me to a local merchant that did indeed carry this rare-sized bulb. I award them with great customer service and a decent selection of Ace hardware products.
