Today was my first time shopping. I am a big Amazon shopper, but the prices on the travel bag I wanted were the same there as they were at this REI so I drove 15 minutes to here. The selection and staff was great. I was approached by a gentleman who seemed to know everything about every bag they had. He also provided me advice on safe hosteling, as this summer will be my first time doing it. They have a sweet membership program that I got for free since my purchase was over $100, so I will be shopping here for all of my adventure purchasing from now on. Great place!! A+!

Tried this place twice. First time looking just looking around. Man approached us trying to get us to join the membership. I dont live near one yet was somehow offended by that. Insisting that it didnt matter if I was never near one. I came back later to buy some camping gear and they wouldnt let my dog in. She is a small little thing that I wasnt about to leave outside and they said I couldnt even keep her in a cart. What kind of sporting goods store kicks out a dog. First and last REI that I will shop at.

The customer service is very limited and restricted, unless you are a member. If you are not a member, you are pretty much screwed. Unlike most stores like MACYS and Nordstrom, REI proudly does not go above and beyond to satisfy the customer. So I am not satisfied with my product and they are not abiding by the 100% satisfaction guarantee one year return policy because my product was a gift. Why I am the one suffering the consequences? There should be some flexibility here.

I would say 5 stars if I could afford most of their things. Not particularly their fault for high prices though. Osprey packs are my favorite, yeti stuff is the most ridiculous priced stuff. I would like to punch the yeti company in the face for making little ice chests for 200-400 plus bucks. Get rid of Amazon and stores will be better! Go to rei! Get off the Internet or you will regret it! I super miss Sports Chalet, that had nice stuff, high end and middle

Employee turned her back to me and walked away as she told me I could leave the store because she disapproved of my attempting to apply an $11 store credit to a previous purchase. Simply because youre a power-tripping supervisor (evidenced by your casual dress and unfriendly attitude) who disapproves of customers operating within REIs own policies, it doesnt give you the right to be rude. Went to another store and was promptly taken care of.

They have a great selection of outdoor camping and hiking equipment and gear. The store is pretty big with all the equipment needs on the bottom floor and an apparel/shoe section on the top floor. The staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. This shopping center is pretty large and the lot can sometimes be packed, so parking can sometimes be a pain to find a spot closer to the entrance.

Decent REI for the city, if you know what youre looking for call ahead to see if they have stock in your item. Also, Ive been here twice and theres never anyone to help with sizing at the rock climbing area. I found the perfect shoe, and the matching side was perched high on a shelf. I ended up asking another (taller) customer to reach for the shoes since there were no sales people in sight.

Great bike services; and I took a couple of classes on bike repair basics and backpacking. Both were very informative and not the usual try-to-sell-u-something-while-kind-of-teaching-u-something. The instructors were both experienced and very helpful. Found myself returning there to buy things even though its smaller than the REIs Im used to up in the PacNW. Decent garage sales as well.

Wow, a fantastic place with attentive employees that are not overbearing! And i always thought they were a bit pricey -theyre not though! Their pricing is as good as any place but their attention to customers is second to none. The manager actually let me take sunglasses outside to try them in bright sunlight, he was standing with me of course. But still, who lets you do that?

I love the customer service at REI. Walked in fifteen minutes before close and they gladly helped me find a bike tire tube. I accidentally picked the wrong item, they accepted a swap the next day and Terry even offered to put it on my rim in the store just to made sure it fit! Everyone is extremely knowledgeable in their department.

The best sports shop anywhere. Period. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and wont push you to the most expensive items. They have a lifetime membership costs $20 and is absolutely worth it. It entitles you to 10% of full priced items and in my case, paid for itself. They also have classes covering different activities.

Great store. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful people who actually use the gear theyre selling...so they can help you out. Lots of classes offered to help you have a better outdoor experience...and believe me, thats going to really be helpful to all the newbies who see Wild and decide to head off into the woods. I cant wait! Ha!

Walked in, and was nicely ignored when i asked for some help in purchasing a tent for my trip to Sequoia. Waited around but no one seemed interested in helping me. Im guessing I did not fit their target consumer profile. But again, they were nice about it. I will definitely avoid this store in the future.

Between the monthly sales and the decent selection this is my favorite REI store. The staff are knowledgeable and can speak from personal experience on a lot of the gear. You can also get lots of good ideas and advice on places to go for your next trip.

I purchased a bike light a few months ago & for some reason it stopped working. Came in to the store today, they looked up my purchase history, found the item & gave me an upgraded exchange with no hassle, lifes easy at REI. THANKS!!!!

This location is the closest one to Bakersfield. You get what you pay for here -top quality goods. They really stand behind their products too. Well worth the money in the long run.

This is a solid REI and the nearest one to Stoney Point. Has a bike repair shop and reasonable collection of climbing gear.

Get your climb on. Some of the staff are company people, meaning more about the company than the customer.
