Exceeded my expectations in every manner! The staff and owners were incredibly helpful when it came to helping choose the "right" bikes for our family. When I walked in, I spotted the sleek Cannondales with hydrolic disc brakes, but in actuality, with a family now, It wasnt the best choice. Spencer helped me find, not necessarily what I "thought" I wanted, but exactly what I needed and will use. I have had too many bikes sit in my garage collecting dust because it was what I thought I wanted. - We ended up with hybrid commuter bikes with the comfort of a single gear cruiser for the day at the beach, but with the gearing and speed needed to get around town when you have to. Living in the Palisades, we now go everywhere by bike and the Electras are the way to go. I would have walked out of there with another dust collector instead of something that I actually use and love every minute of! Not only did we end up with excellent bikes, but we get free tuneups for life and super fast and friendly service. I really cannot say enough about the owners and staff. Amazing people. Thank you Metropolis!!!

First I wanted to put one bikes crank in to my other, they said itll be done in a day or two. A week later they said they couldnt do it giving me back as it was untouched. Than I wanted a break installed so I made special order which supposed to take 2-3 business days and it took 2 weeks for them to get shipped. So far I still didnt care enough to complain at all, but then I bought 2 new intertubes and gave my old one so I can have exact same one. Both intertubes were stretched and one of them had a hole, no tape on boxes either. I assume they sold me used intertubes. Also the other one can only handle 25psi of air. I ended up slapping 5 patches over my old one with 3 times more air. Order parts online or go to other shops. If needed to be local go noho cycles. I had more problems in this shop in one month than 6 years of going to noho cycles and some shop on van nuys and burbank or Chandler or whatevers. Dont waste your time even tho theyll verbally treat you good to make up for lack of good service.

This is cool shop. But Today I took my bike in to have the rear hub tuned up. I drove the bike in, with my car, so I could leave it for service. I have a rare bike, from Denmark with a shaft drive and an 8 speed shimano internal hub. The mechanic would not work on the bike because it had a shaft drive and he said he was not certified for shaft drive work. I told him I did not want him to work on the shaft drive only the rear hub, and he still would not help me. Maybe thats a cool thing. But Ive removed the rear wheel and delt with the shaft drive many times, and there is nothing to it. This is a bike, after all. Its mechanical. Im not very mechanical, so I need some help with the hub. Anyway, I cant figure out if its not working on my bike is cool or not. Metropolis was a real waste of my time, even if they were right not to work on the bike. I actually dont care if they were right or wrong, because I do not know... but I just think they were chicken.

I cant say enough good things about Metropolis! I just bought my first bike and they could not have been more helpful. I had gone to three other bike shops in the area before this one and Metropolis made me feel the most welcome and were above and beyond the most helpful. They had me test ride a few different bikes to make sure what I was looking for was what I wanted, very patient with me and knowledgeable of the bikes. They didnt try to up-sell me on the accessories I needed(helmet, lights, lock), just made me aware of what was available and recommended products that best fit my needs as a beginner. I ended up spending more money than I originally wanted to, but it was worth it in my eyes, because I got a bike that best fits me and got it from a shop that I walked away happy to have done business with.

I have gone to this bike shop twice, worst customer service. Rude employees, stuck up. I went to get more information on what parts to get to upgrade my bike. I wouldnt recommend this shop to anyone!!!!! The prices are incredibly high, horrible products and horrible customer service. Your better off going to the junk yard to get bike parts then this place, same quality most likely. Over priced! I DO NOT ever want to go here again. I cant say that enough. They will charge you an arm and a leg, dont even bother going here you will be treated with no respect like you are a complete idiot! Go to downtown instead if you live in north hollywood! For the simplest products you will get charged an arm and a leg! I do not like being disrespected, I am no idiot. Sorry. NEVER GO HERE!

Today was my first visit to Metropolis Bikes. Two flat tires on my cheap little Schwinn and needed them fixed for a beach cruise today. Called there and Kurt said to come on down...theyd have my bike in and out in about 1/2 hour. Perfect! Arrived and was greeted warmly by the young staff behind the counter. Even though the tech was in the middle of another client he asked what Id be needing and when I told him of my flat tires, he told me to bring in the bike and he put it up immediately on the rack. Tubes changed out quickly, was advised of some other work for another time and out the door in less than 1/2 hours. Price was reasonable and they were very friendly (I guess cause I am also friendly) and I will go back again. Thanks!

I love the staff here. Bought a new bike for a friend as a gift ( a well appointed Canondale) and related safety accessories. I have had a great experience each time Ive been here for different things: add ons to my older bike, flat fixes, gear and other miscellaneous items. The girl that helped us out initially has since moved on but the remaining boys are super cool and very knowledgeable. They didnt make me feel like a complete dufus when I drug my bike out of storage (a gift from Aaron Spelling off the original Melrose Place TV Show). It only took me 15 years to actually ride it! LOL! They are my go to spot and always accessible for questions and extremely helpful. I love their vibe and they are close to my crib.

Friendly and helpful bike shop in the NoHo Arts District offering a decent variety of bicycles (regular and electric), accessories and services. Their young staff is always welcoming and helpful even for bikes purchased elsewhere. In addition to their selection of bikes, they offer everything you need to spice your ride. Whether you needs lights, reflectors, speedometers, helmets, water bottles or messenger bags, they have them and will install free for you during the week. They also provide tune ups and repair service. I have a regular mountain bike (purchased elsewhere) and a Pedego bike bought there. They are always attentive and helpful regardless of which bike i bring in.
