Im sorry but i just CANT STAND SH#$TY service!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously F this place, you can get ANY game they have in this store off ebay for cheaper and wont have to deal with worthless "employees" standing around wasting their time and yours. Theres 10 people in the whole ware house and probably 4 employees, and no one is getting helped at all. The place is just a huge warehouse, not really in a nice area, but not the most ghetto of areas either. Definitely nothing fancy. Just a ware house filled with games. I had my dog with me, and lately I just get annoyed because I see people go in EVERYWHERE in LA with their little rat dogs or little fluffy dogs, and if youre a blonde hollywood bimbo with a fake chest, no one says anything, but because Im a guy and I own a pitbull (sweetest dog in the world) I always get called out. And Im NEVER that guy who tries to bring their dog everywhere with them either, but the place is a f#$king warehouse so i said F it, I ask politely if I can bring my dog inside and that I knew exactly what games I wanted to buy and I would only be in the store for a minute. The dude behind the counter practically snapped my head off and told me there was a sign saying no animals. theres totally not a sign. So annoyed I go move my car to a nice shady spot out of the sun (there wasnt one so as an F you to the store I parked in their loading zone, which was the only area that had shade) so that kinda already put me in an annoyed mood at the place. and its like, you walk in there and theres a bunch of hood looking kids just hanging out, and the employees are just doing nothing helpful as far as i can tell. So i find the list for old school nintendo games and start looking at the games they have in the cases. no one is there to help me, I stand around for like 20 minutes its like, i dont want to be standing there for an hour waiting for some holier than thou retail reject to finally decide hes going to do his job for 5 minutes. So i take the list and circle all the games i want and go up to the cash register just to be like, yo, i want to buy these games and be outta here. So the same J#$k off employee goes, NO, you have to go back over to that section and wait for someone to come help you, Ill try to send someone over there as soon as I can. ???????? NO???? youll "try" to send someone over as soon as possible??? I just TOLD YOU I wanted to give you my money and make a sale for you as easily as humanly possible. I have money. you want money. you have games i want. i want the games you have. Who the F#$k is the manager of this place that theyll just let sales walk like this?? I promptly said F#$k this place and left. You can totally just go buy ANY of the games you want that this store has on ebay, I cant wait until that "game dude" gets a lesson in customer service when hes working drive thru at mcdonalds next. Again DONT WASTE YOUR TIME IN THIS STORE. Their prices werent even that good. Just go on ebay.

The concept is amazing, and IN THE PAST... Game Dude has been a Treasure of the Valley. NO LONGER. My last visit, I purchased an Atari 2600, for $69, as well as 20 games. I also purchased an original NES, alongside 20+ games as well. My total was $400. During this awesome purchase, Ivan the sales person told me "if you are going to sell them, bring them back, instead of selling them online. You might get a little more online, but it sucks to sell them overseas." Fast forward to today. I was ready for somebody else to enjoy these treasures from our childhoods! I brought the 2600 Atari to sell, since we have not used it since purchase. I tested the Atari before taking it to game dude, and it was in the same exact condition as when I purchased it from Ivan at Gamedude. The machine worked properly, but showed a bit of snow. Something he attributed during the sale, to the age of the machine. "Thats how they look," Ivan said. After 45 minutes of waiting, while Ive been inspected my system, another salesperson returned and told me they could not purchase my system due to "snow." Same exact condition. No lie. Understood. If the console is not in a condition for anybody to purchase, it should not be sold. The manager, Ignacio, had overheard our discussion, and ignored my concern. After my transaction took place, Tony apologized profusely for him and the inconsistencies in the return policies and how they handled the issue. There was clearly no management present in the store, and the sales people were left to themselves to make decisions as they wished. As I left the store, Ignacio came over to the counter without any care to engage. He didnt want to be bothered. I introduced myself, asked for his name (since he did not introduce himself), and kindly told him I would leave a review. Gamedude is no different than the kid who would hog the $0.25 arcade game....even if they lost..... "Pop in another quarter, Or move along....." Thats what Gamedude and Ignacio had to offer today. I hope tomorrow is different. This time.... You guys lose out. Another Local Legend Gone. RiP Gamedude

Ive just been coming here for about a year, but its definitely one of my favorite stores to shop for video games. The game selection both new and used (for current systems as well as old school) is really extensive. You can find almost anything here. Their new prices are the same as other stores, but thats a given. Unlike GameStop, these guys will actually have price drops on newer games from time to time. Their used prices are usually very good on most games. In my experience they also give good trade in prices on your used items. Customers writing reviews complaining that they dont give much for used games cant expect to get much for Madden 98 for the ps1, it just wont happen. The last time I traded in a game I got 10 more dollars from game dudes that I did from Gamestop. And they only trade in cash, no store credit bullshit. The staff are all very friendly and will always ask you if you need help. Theyll even spend the time and make recommendations for you if you ask them, but youre not pushy and they dont try to sell you stuff or reservations like GameStop always does. All in all game dudes is an excellent alternative to bigger stores like Gamestop who really only exist to rip you off.

The best game store I have ever visited. There arent any retro game stores where I live so the hour drive is worth it every time from Oxnard for me. They have thousands and thousands of games both new and old. I love their strict trade in policy as it makes buying games for collectors like myself worry free. ALL games must include everything so you dont have bins of loose discs to sift through. The staff treats collectors with respect allowing them to examine the product and even mix and match manuals, cases, and discs. The only negative is that they have very odd warranties and return policies. They are so strict they are almost non-existent. The place also seems a bit disorganized and they are lacking on certain consoles like Saturn, Sega CD, Dreamcast, and some older or more rare consoles. Overall, Ive come here nearly a dozen times in the last year and walk out with a ton of retro games for my collection every time. Extremely happy.
