Deplorable customer service. I bought a gift card and attempted to return it less than 24 hours later because I found out my son doesnt shop there. I was told that even though I had my receipt, the return policy excludes gift cards though the language of the return policy does not exclude them. The store manager called company headquarters in India and was told that not only would they not honor their own written return policy, I also had to argue to get them to give me the balance of less than $10.00 back in cash as required by CA law. Spend your money at PetSmart in Sand City or Stones Pet Shop in Pacific Grove. With such horrible service, Im sure they will hopefully be leaving Del Monte Center soon.

So, my regular groomer was unavailable for personal reasons so I took my dog Bandit to Petco for a grooming - basically a shave of the body with a little length left on ears and tail. His hair was long as he is Scotty Terrier/Maltese mix. Well, in addition to the groom I.e., shave - I was charged $21 for dematting him. #1, he was not "matted". #2, they were shaving it all off! It was very expensive to say the least. Ill not be going back. My dog(s) have never had to be dematted! What a rip-off!

Petco is amazing place to find reptiles. They provide amazing stories, some awesome tips, and are very caring when it come to the handling of the reptiles. Especially their worker named Amanda. She is very knowledgeable and caring. The crested gecko morphs they provide are amazing and well cared for. If you want a reptile, and are in Monterey, go here.

We took our two dogs in for a nail trim -- the staff was super patient with our very shy dogs. The "stylist" was cheerful and talked to our dogs throughout the process, even taking time to scratch their ears and reassure our nervous pups that all was ok.

Went there to pick up the basics for our new puppy, the staff was super helpful, they took the time to explain local vaccination laws so we wouldnt have to repeat her shots, we will be going back for puppy classes when she is old enough.

It wasnt worth what I paid. My dogs hair was still long in places it shouldnt have been. They were very young workers and didnt seem like they were excited about their job. I wont go there again

Terrible service. Interviewed here because they were "hiring immediately" yet when I go in there now I see at most two employees. Roommate and I spent 30 minutes waiting to be helped.

I buy dog food here and they normally have a buy one get one free for the wet food. Its always sad to see the poor chinchillas just waiting there for someone to care for them.

I have been bringing my dogs to Petco for years. My groomer Michele is truly gifted. She is talented, intuitive and professional. My dogs love going there.
