When I went there the store was a mess! The girls that worked there looked sloppy and dingy. One girl was wearing an oversized Hanes cotton T shirt. It looked all faded and her shoes were dirty. I was so surprised they would let someone like that represent their company. Plus the customer service was awful. They were out of what I was looking for and I asked someone there if she was sure they didnt have any in the back and she rolled her eyes and said Probably. I asked if she wouldnt mind checking for me and she said that she was really busy. I just looked for some other stuff and left (it was for my nieces bday gift) and was just really annoyed. Thats just not good customer service. The word Probably was so off putting. I will buy my stuff online or go to San Fran or Fresno for my things from now on... Will never go to that store again unless I really have to. Just really disappointing.

So disappointed in this stores customer service! I went to return a product with a receipt and since they could not find the original purchase in their computer they would not give me a refund, only a store credit. So they are basically calling me a thief then want me to spend more money in their store? Not my fault their system is screwed up. When I called the manager to complain and tell her this was unacceptable I was even further disgusted. Not only was she rude, her appearance was not what I would expect from a store trying to market upper scale products. She refused to give me the money back so long story short, I will never shop there again. Hope the purchase was worth losing a long term customer. Plenty of other places with a mall right there:)

The Sephora in JCPENNYS located in Modesto, Ca is the best. Of course, theres the wonderful cosmetics, fragrance, etc..however, the reason I choose to use this store as opposed to the main store is because of the employees. There are 3 in particular who are the kindest, and ALWAYS willing to give advice and who basically are the best sales associates Ive ever met. Theres MONICA, DIANA KIM, TERA H. These ladies are so nice. I always feel that I am the top priority & without a doubt, they always give me their full attention while assisting me. So, if you need to purchase something at Sephora, I highly recommend the one in Jcpennys in Modesto. Youre lucky if you get one of the three SAs mentioned above. Thank you Monica, Diana, & Tera!!

I have no idea why this location has bad reviews. I went today and had my makeup done, it was clean, the service was great and my makeup artist was super friendly. If people seemed like they needed help she would pause doing my makeup for just a few seconds and radio for someone to help. When I was shopping I was offered help by a few of the staff and when I paid they allowed me to get my free birthday item even though I was a month late. Like I said, I seriously have no idea why this location has bad reviews.

Truthfully I wont be coming back to this location I originally came in looking to change foundations I currently am using Bobbi brown and wanted to try something different no one helped me I felt ignored which is horrible customer service so I went to the sephora inside jcpenny and its a completely different expierence than the one of the outlet outside

Probably the worst service I have seen in my life . I went in there around 5:21 and I asked a person to help . Witch she didnt she transfer me to another women , witch was busy . I waited there for 10 minutes and nobody come and helped me out . I wont ever come to this store again .
