This is an admittedly small Ralphs store, with minimal selection and small stock. However, what they dont have in inventory, they make up for in service and decent parking on a surface lot and garage below, way better than the ramp on Pico and Beverwill. Oscar in the seafood/meat department is super friendly and helpful, Nakeisha at checkout is a hilariously funny gal to wrap up our shopping with! The nice folks at the deli are kind and respectful, despite being pulled in all directions by rude and entitled customers: the "Uh, I am next" people who usually arent, but dont look up from their iPhones long enough to see other people exist in the world, nonetheless at the deli counter! Be warned: this Ralphs is home base to some of the most self-important patrons that I have ever seen. So yeah, if you act like a jerk - and you wont be in a minority - maybe you should expect to be treated like one. The employees are human and they can only take so much of the disrespect shown to them. "Please", "thank you", "is it possible...", "do you have a moment to help me with..." go a long way...As does, "pardon me" and "Im sorry". Manners 101. A recent and 100% true event of this store: We observed the nastiest woman come into the store and demand the manager discipline a cashier *on the spot* to her standard, after she neglected to have her purchase ready to check out BEFORE getting in line. After ringing her up, the cashier was told by this woman that she needed something from her CAR! So, he suspended the sale and held her items for over 5 minutes, possibly 10, and continued checking out a VERY long line. When she finally returned, wrangling the same two poorly parented children she left with, we were up next, but this woman expected just jump rank and have everyone wait for her, now that she was back from her lengthy expedition, allegedly to her car. We let him take care of the self-absorbed, rude, and disorganized Princess of Century City, just to get her entire cart of stuff off of the bagging area. While she sould have been humbly appreciatve, she was NOT. Once done, and after loudly accosting the young man at the register for "asking [her] to wait in line" for 3 whole minutes, she refused to move out of the way so that we could check out (blocking the credit card machine from me). She proceeded to call the manager over so that he could "correct" the cashiers handling of her situation...Literally telling the manager what to say to this poor kid, in full view and within earshot of every customer and co-worker. She did not believe that she should have had to wait back in line - for any time! She was completely irrational and indignant, not to mention that she failed to show any courtesy to all of us behind her in line. Its fine if you have a legit complaint. By all means, speak to the manager. But if you want to stand there and block every other customer, just so you can put your authority on display, dont look back at the line and expect looks of agreement from other shoppers. People in this store do this crap all the time, this is just one example. Bottom line is that if you shop here often, get to know the people who work there. It makes for a nicer experience and they will always help you with whatever you need. If you really need big selection, go to Ralphs on Olympic, past the 405. It has everything. Or, there is Westwood, which is like supermerket heaven. For everyday or weekly needs, this location is super convenient if you live in CC.

Ive been shopping here for 7 years, because it happens to be close. If I can, I avoid it and shop at any other Ralphs or Vons/Pavilions. While the products at the market are fine, for some reason the staff at the front here are mostly curt (especially the long time employees). Occasionally theres someone new who hasnt been infected by the miserliness of the attitude. Brian is one notable exception- this guy is what the other employees at most other markets are, or should be like. Hes friendly, helpful and in a good mood most of the time. Also, bizarrely, theyve adopted a homeless man, who often stands at the entrance. This man is harmless, but he hasnt showered in probably years. At night hell wander the aisles, and you know hes there even if you dont see him because the aroma he leaves behind is such a stench it could raise the dead. I became nauseous one time. When I commented to one of the managers about this issue, they took offense, as if I was being cruel to a homeless man. The concept that I would like to be able to shop for my food without feeling like Im about to vomit did not seem to be of concern.

Sadly I cannot get away with posting a review without posting a star.... This supermarket is run by an uneducated, poorly trained store manager by the name of Louis Greene. Today I went in to purchase some groceries and they were out of almost everything I wanted. I understand that Sundays are not the best day to shop but this place was out of five out of nine items I needed to purchase! When I asked two different employeesfor two different items, that are usually in stock, they replied that THEY DONT CARRY IT!! How unprofessional is that? When I brought to Louiss attention he replied that I was the one who was rude!!!! I will not only make sure that I leave a review here of his poor customer service skills but also with the corporate dept. at Kroger. I now know why this location has some of the most unprofessional and lazy employees and is so poorly stocked! The person in charge of the store is a rude uncaring individual.

I live nearby. The place is generally clean, well maintained. Staff are overall friendly. There was one staff there up until around 4 -5 months ago, who had major attitude, but shes gone, thankfully. I dont know if she quit, transferred, or was fired, but Im grateful. In terms of cashiers, they are consistently short. At least 50% of the time Im standing and standing. I thought because I usually come in the evening (9pm) it had something to do with it. But no, even during the day, weekday or weekends, Ive found them to generally be understaffed. The management must think that customers standing in line, is not an important matter. I avoid shopping there if I can, but sometimes for just a few items, its unavoidable. Three stars for overall cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Loss of two stars due to consistent long lines.

I have been frequenting this Ralphs location for the past two years, as many of the employees at Bebe Studios do for their meal needs. This store is clean and has a very friendly staff. I particularly enjoy coming to the Deli, where among the staff I have had the pleasure of being served by Diana and Yani. They always have a positive attitude and are more than accommodating of my needs! They deserve recognition for their outstanding customer service and being representative of Ralphs core values. With the rest of the Deli staff being as exemplary as these two individuals, I believe that it is about time this location expands their Hot Bar offerings. I know this location services other businesses in the area so it wouldnt be just for us here at Bebe :). How about some hot sandwiches, rice bowls, hot veggies, etc?
