This is the worlds best hardware store, with the nicest, most helpful, knowledgeable and patient people working here ever. They always listen to what I need to accomplish and give me lots of great options, ideas or solutions. They never make me feel rushed, even when Im butchering an explanation of what my problems are. They also carry the greatest high quality products that last and are always highly recommended by other sources. I am so glad I live near this hardware store, but now having discovered it, honestly even if I moved 20 miles away, Id drive to come here instead of any other place.

We normally do not post our opinions but we want to for Los Altos True Value Hardware. They are a wonderful "local" store and provide good "old-fashion service". Those three are NOT seen much at all today so when a place is truly helpful, has good supplies, great hours and a pleasant staff, we want them to stay in business!!!! They seem to be busy at the times we have been there but we want to spread the word. Please shop at Los Altos True Value Hardware where the customer is treated with utmost respect and courtesy!!

These guys are really knowledgeable and helpful. I was really stuck trying to replace a kitchen faucet and I went to Orchard for help because they were closest. Big mistake. They had nothing useful to suggest and were a little surly in their response. So then I drove over to Los Altos Hardware and talked to Henry. As usual he was full of helpful advice and even offered to loan me that appropriate tool. Following his advice and I was able to replace the faucet. Now my leak is gone and I am happy. Thanks Henry!

This store should get 6 stars! I call it Magic Hardware. It is very rare not to be able to find what I need here. The staff is beyond great. They all are very helpful with advice and give great impromptu tutorials on how to use the products. This is what a small town business should be. The owner is extremely accommodating and highly appreciative of your patronage. I hope they never close. Bravo TrueValue Los Altos! They put the big box stores to shame!

I shop at all the major hardware/home-fixup places within 5 miles of here, and Im a regular visitor to this store. The strength of Los Altos True Value is its staff. They do a good job of maximizing the variety of stock in a limited space, and they generally know where everything is, to get you in and out quickly. Its a great place to go when you need some advice, or a few little parts to get something fixed so you can get back to your life.

They have so much inventory that I rarely need to look elsewhere, consistently helpful service over more than a dozen visits. Once came in with an issue with a malfunctioning toilet that I couldnt diagnose. Snapped a picture with my phone of the inner tank and from that alone they were able to determine that someone previously had installed an incorrect part. Was out the door with the correct item within minutes with issue resolved.

Some of the very best customer care Ive ever had in a retail environment. The shop itself is small in comparison to the vastness of the Big Box Hardware Warehouses but they are smartly stocked and able to address most household hardware needs. I go in a handful of times every month and they have ever not carried something Ive needed. [Save for larger orders of lumber.]

Its a small store but they manage to carry just about everything you could need. And then on top of that you get top notch friendly, helpful customer service. If you ask for an item they dont just tell you "oh its in the isle over there" - theyll take you right to the item youre looking for - show you all the options they have. I love coming here.

Los Altos Hardware is awesome! So convenient, just "down the street" from my house; one of those great stores that has everything you could ever need, and best of all - super friendly and helpful staff! Im not a great handyperson, and theyve helped me figure out how to fix numerous plumbing, electrical, etc. problems!

So I had a gross and embarrassing fly problem in my house. I came here desperately and spoke with a lady seconds before they closed about what to do. She was super helpful and attentive even though Im sure she was ready to get out of there. We were in and out in like 5 minutes and she solved my problem for sure!

Our favorite hardware store due to customer service and breath of high quality inventory. Prices may not always be lowest but over many years we have never a defective or poorly functioning item purchased there as has happened with purchases from other hardware stores. Easy in and out with dedicated parking.

Saying they offer great customer service is true but it does not appropriately describe their services. The services offered are better described as consulting services. I would happily pay hourly rates for their advice and wisdom as well as their friendly nature!

A good selection for such a small store, and they have most of what you need for quick fixes. Staff are willing to give advice and help find everything, and even re-opened the store once when I got there just after closing.

Lots of stuff hardware supply galore and Diy projects in refurbishing youll be good to go here. They are high cost though and no nursery . Family owned and run.
