They used to, and sometimes still, have a great crew, however in the last 6 months or so there is a group that are more intetested in each other than helping. Case in point, bought a power drill, told them I was a newbie, asked what I needed to get to make a complete set for most low skill home projects. Was sent home with a set of 4 drill bits to make holes.. I needed much more, like all of the bits to use on screws, the extender things to hold them... got the rest at Home Depot when I realized I could only do one thing with my new drill. If you go to this location and actually need some guidance and the crew there is standing enmasse together, laughing like a group of kids at a bar, come back at another shift for the helpful crew.

Convenient and Helpful. Since I moved into my apartment 2 years ago I have shopped at Ace Hardware regularly. Yes its 100 feet from my place and sometimes its a pain that they dont stay open later but if I plan things out well the 6 p.m. closing time is not a problem. Ace Hardware always has what I want and they even have items that I wasnt looking for and didnt know I needed them until I saw them. The staff there is very friendly and theyre eager to help they have not steered me wrong on anything. Because its so close to home it really feels like I am supporting the local economy rather than going to one of the huge mega stores like Home Depot or Lowes.

I used to shop here a lot. I have an entire house rehab coming up and could have used this store, but they will never get another dime from me due to the fact that felt the need to take political stance against medical marijuana. As a 50 something your old patient I find this beyond offensive. The manager confirmed this to me and accused me of harassing him for expressing my disappointment of their stance against patents. Why a hardware store feels the need to discriminate against legal medical marijuana patients is beyond my comprehension, but needless to say I will no longer shop there.

I just went to this Ace hardware trying to buy a fan. I had looked up the fan on the website that was on the page that advertised this ace hardware when i went to go get the fan i was told this fan was 10 dollars more than was on the website that they had clearly on their page i am very dissappointed that they would not honor the price that i had found through their advertisement they will not be getting anymore of my business!!! And i will be contacting the manager to tell her how her employees lost them alot of good customers!!

Great neighborhood Ace. Friendly people, of great help. Read the other reviews, and - even though I have my own dispensary card, lets forget about the politics, here. They wont prevent you from shopping or will make your experience any worse, regardless of what you believe in. Unless you walk into any store with an agenda, youll probably never cross into the politics. Not the biggest selection and parking could be an issue, but all forgivable. And cockroaches?! Really? Cmon, the store is clean. Period.

I JUST LOVE this store! It is small, but packed with everything Ive ever needed or wanted. I think ONCE they didnt have what I wanted. I always check them first before heading off to Home D or other. Whenever I call to check about an item, the service people are very courteous and helpful. I always get a response to every question -- even if they have to check 3 times, the salesperson is very kind.

I recently moved into my first apartment and started to learn how to build/repair stuff for my palace and Ace Hardware has been with me every step of the way. Staff member Rory is a home improvement god who has helped me go from handyman zero to handman geek. Everyone else has been really nice and helpful. Nobody has ever harassed me for coming in wearing roller blades. A+ prices and staff.

Been here a good handful of times. Very convenient location because there are no other good hardware stores in downtown Long Beach , that Ive found. ALWAYS greeted by an employee as soon as I walk in and asked if I need help. Knowledgeable staff and a much bigger selection than youd estimate, given the outside of the building makes it look smaller. Highly recommend this store.

I am a regular customer at this store because they are local and most helpful. Many times Ive checked online prices while in store and found their prices better. Bring in your project list or ideas and theyll help get you started. Store manager Phillip is very courteous, as is the staff. Highly recommend over big box stores!

Store was dirty, cockroaches everywhere. Employees were rude and unhelpful, the manager said he was too busy planning some big rally against terminally ill mmj patients to help me find screws. I guess their politics are more important than people, or their business. too bad, ive always thought this was a good store.

The obese lady working front register is very rude and racist. If you look like you dont speak Spanish, she has a terrible attitude towards you. Long time customer lost to the better service elsewhere.

Nice small ace jas the little things you may have needed to run out to home deppt to get right in a little nook on 4th street. There is not much parking though.
