Love this place, the staff is always super helpful, and returning items has never been a problem and Ive been coming here for years. Lots of interesting gadgets, and good gel knee Pads for under 10 bucks (that are the same as the $50 craftsman ones as far as I can tell) is a great deal considering eventually they get so stinky that no matter how much you wash them you have to just throw them away and get new ones. I used to use a dewalt drill that weighed about 5 pounds and when it was fully charged, cracked the plastic shrouds I have to unscrew in the course of my work everyday, until it broke and would have cost over $100 to repair it- then I got a $15 drill from Harbor Freight that has multiple lighter clutch settings, doesnt crack the plastic and only weighs 2 pounds in my toolbox( and has lasted quite a while for a $15 drill, I forget how long Ive had it, maybe 3-4 years? 5? ). Its the right tool for the right job.

Harbor sells tools for amateurs and for light professional use. By "light professional use" I mean pros who need something which is not going to be used daily for his core business. For amateurs this place is phenomenal. The non-electrical hand tools can last forever. The eletrical and some other more complicated stuff is prone to failure after extended use. To get a job done, which otherwise could not be done just due to lack of tools, this place is perfect. They are getting a lot more specialty tools so check there first before paying a lot of money elsewhere. Personally I saved a lot of money by going here.

Good place to go if you need an off-the-wall tool that you wont use very often and dont want to pay a ton of money for it. Not bad for some cheap imported stuff even their hand tools have lifetime warranty. Be warned though the smell of plastic will give you a headache inside the store quickly.

This store sales mostly industrial gear and some odd household stuff at unbeatablely cheap wholesale prices. This include $8 sanders. The quality for their low-end products isnt good. Shop here first.

Place smells like a chemical factory. Cheap Chinese tools that wont last and will break, but prices are right. You get what you pay for.
