My family has been living in the area for over 10 years. Until recently, my insurance company added Dr. Hollabaugh to the plan. Since I was not too happy about my progressive lens made previously by a doctor in Folsom, I thought to give Dr. Hollabaugh a try. Man, this doctor is one of the best I have ever seen, not only as a professional, but also as a person in term of kindness and responsibility. Two things make Dr. Hollabaugh stand out in my experience. First, he spent his time on you. You can tell he is not pretending a smile and trying to get rid of you (many doctors are doing that because they believe their time is more valuable than yours.) Dr. Hollabaugh uses his time to make sure he did his job in perfection. My progressive lens came back with a slightly shift off the center (I would not notice until he asked me to try on different measures), right away, he offered to remake the lens. Second, he never tried to sell you the expensive options. You may have experienced the selling pressure in many optometry where pretty girls were hired to push the value-added services on you, like coating, etc. Dr. Hollabaugh and Dr. Kinoshita would still tell you the options, but you can sense they were talking in their professional opinions. No effort of selling at all. In my case, I got my new glasses in 1/3 of cost out my pocket, and works far better. As a happy patient, I strongly recommend their service.

Dr Hollobaugh was amazing for me as a new patient! We recently moved to the area from Denver and I needed an emergency visit after noticing some vision loss a few days after a car accident. I had already seen my PCP but the vision loss was new and his office got me in the same day (I had called 2 other offices and none of them offered me quick appointments). As an ER nurse I understand the importance of listening to your patients and triaging possible serious complications following a motor vehicle accident. His staff was so understanding and communicative about my situation and helped me with everything. my fears and worries over possible physical eye damage were alleviated by the end of my visit. I highly recommend Dr Hollobaugh and his clinic!

You wont find a better optometrist than Doug Holobaugh. I echo everything in the previous reviewers 5-star comments. My wife and I have been going to Doug since he arrived in El Dorado Hills over a decade ago, and he has been at the top of his game from the beginning.
