I had a great experience with Nissan of Duarte! I got paired up with Rap for my buying experience. This was my first time buying a new car (Ive owned two prior used cars), but this was not the first dealership Id visited. I had already done quite a bit of research and knew which car I wanted to look at after also looking at some cars while in San Diego. I came in while in the area visiting my family, let him know what I had my eye on, and we got straight to it with the new cars. He helped me identify quickly that because of my credit and potential for 0% APR, I would be better off with a New car than a Used car because of the more limited financing options on Used cars. At this point we focused on new 2015 Nissan Sentras, and I found the car I wanted right away. Negotiation was quick and to the point. I told him what price I was looking for, something that I thought would be a great deal for me and still make a profit for them. They started out meeting me just below what I had been offered at other locations after researching many other prices. I felt that everything was up-front, they are willing to work with you, and there was no particular push to buy which made things more comfortable for me to explore what my options were with this particular dealership. Setting up financing was also a no-hassle experience. The only thing Ill mention as a more general buying point is have them compare if the sales tax is lower in the area of the dealership vs. in the area you live in. When I was surprised about how high the tax was, they made a correction for me living in San Diego and it saved me a couple hundred bucks! I now have my 2015 Nissan Sentra and am extremely happy with it! Its a great driving experience, and I feel like Im driving a car meant to be much more expensive than what I paid. They made sure that prior to taking the car off the lot, it was fully washed and squeaky clean, and loaded up the gas tank. Rap went through a full external inspection with me and allowed me to double-check the interior to make sure everything was spick and span, and answered any and all questions I had about this new vehicle with lots of toys installed that were new to me. They followed up with me the next day to make sure that everything was in order and to see if I had any questions, and welcomed for me to call in if any issues or questions arise. All in all, I had a great experience at Nissan of Duarte and highly recommend this dealership location. Go there, you wont regret it!

Just had a terrible experience at Nissan of Duarte. So bad that Im giving up on Nissan completely and going with a different automaker. This is what happened: On September 16, my car (2014 Altima with 70,000 miles) died on me. It wouldnt start, but all of the lights/radio in the car were working. So I get it towed to the dealership the next day (Saturday). They check it and within two hours they "successfully" diagnosed the problem. They say I just needed a new battery. So I exchange my batter from autozone since the one they say needed replacing was less than three months old. We switch it out and the car still doesnt start. So they say theyll keep it and figure it out. Five business days pass by and on Friday they tell me that my car was fixed. All it needed was a reprogram (which costs $135) and that the computer code did not bring up issues with the starter, alternator, etc. Im of course happy and drive it off. Not even 20 miles later and my car dies on me as Im exiting the freeway (I guess good timing), so I pull into the gas station lot. I get it towed back to my house and then the dealership the next morning. They, within twenty minutes of having the car say it was just the fuel pump ($900) fix. Initially they didnt want to subtract the cost of the reprogram, but they finally did. Now they dont want to subtract the cost of the tow, which they SHOULD. They told me that the car was fixed when it wasnt. What if traffic was heavy around me while my car died due to their mistake? They did not do a thorough check because a mechanic said it was the fuel pump within 20 minutes of me bringing it back a second time, so why over that five day period did they not figure out it was the fuel pump? Seems like a pretty major issue. It would be one thing if I came here the first time and the diagnosed it correctly. Its another to have me come back three to four times because they keep misdiagnosing the issue with my car. How could I ever trust Nissan or the techs here? No, Im not going to name the names of the techs that "helped" me on, but Nissan Corporate will know their names. This was unacceptable customer service that is costing me a lot of time (taking off work early to get to the dealership before they close) and money. What makes it worse is that I came here months ago and had a decent experience. Nissan, this dealership/service department is a bad representation of your company. My issue is not the only one.

I went into the dealership with an ad offering cars for no down payment and with monthly payments in the range of $250 a month. Bad credit, no problem. From the moment I got there, I told everyone with whom I spoke, that I was there for one of the cars that fell into the ad specifications. Needless to say, I ended up with a car I couldnt afford after making a down payment I didnt have and Ive have been kicking myself ever since. Did this happen because Im a woman and we dont know anything about cars or negotiating? Did it happen because my credit history is bad? Did it happen because their ad was a lie just to get me in there? Really, the bottom line is happened because I let it happen. So then this week I get a phone call from a woman, lets call her Brandi (and I apologize if there is a Brandi there - I did not speak with a Brandi). Brandi wanted to offer me the opportunity to get into a 2015 Nissan. WTH? I explained my situation and she said she would talk to the manager and get back to me "in three seconds." Yeah, its been two days. I will NEVER let this happen to me again. I take responsibility for being naive and letting them talk me into something that has caused me nothing but grief, aggravation, and stress. Of course, Im about to lose the car because if I couldnt afford it at the time I acquired it, much less can I afford it now that Im unemployed. Live and learn. If there is anyone out there unsure of going to this dealership, please take my advice, take someone with you who knows about cars, knows about dealing with car dealerships, or knows you well enough to remind you what you can and cannot afford. Oh, and leave the ad at home. Just one more thing, I read several of the reviews and found the responses from the dealership to be useless and condescending. I would rather not get one of those. Thanks.
