I went to this location on DEC 26 to ship home presents my family received but couldnt take home on the plane. First, the guy working there showed up late. Then he weighed our gifts and told us it would cost $92 to send them Ground; the least expensive way. I knew he was lying about the cost; Ive sent other small shipments through UPS, so I said no and went to another UPS store near where I used to work in Montebello,CA on Beverly, Blvd. At the Montebello UPS store the cost to ship our gifts ground was $45 and change. Essentially, the guy at the Downey UPS store was trying to double the bill and pocket the fee. I will never use the Downey location to ship anything again. This is not typical of UPS stores. In fact the people at the Montebello UPS Store were very nice as well as being efficient.

I just called to ask what time they were closing and the guy answered the phone with a "hello", nothing more. I asked if I called the UPS store and he grunted. I asked again because I dont speak grunt and he practically yelled back "yes it is". I have only shipped warranty items that were broken through this store and several times I asked for tape to seal the box. Twice they said they will take care of it and looked at me waiting for me to leave without the box being sealed. Nothing showed up missing, but I wonder how it would have turned out if the items worked?

I read some all the reviews here and some were bad but I decided to go there for myself. I found the entire staff including the owner very helpful and very professional they even suggested the things so that my package will not get damaged in route. Yes they charge me for the help but with the service I received was more than happy to pay it I think Im going to visit this place more often.

Scale may not be accurate. Might need to reset. My work scale is new accurate and weighed todays shipment at 3.96. At this location weighed 4.05.
