Five entrances to reach any part of Westlake Shopping Center. Close by to apartments and expands from John Daly Blvd to Southgate Avenue. Diverse community with over twenty dining options from American (Burgermeister) to Thai (Bangkok Gardens) food. Plenty of parking along Southgate Avenue, within the shopping center and along Lake Merced Blvd and Park Plaza Drive. If you have banking, grocery, medical or shopping needs, Westlake Shopping Center is the place for you. Although the renovation of Westlake Shopping Center has added more patrons from residents and tourists alike, there have been complaints on parking and pedestrians. Parking is free at this shopping center, but it can be tricky especially if you plan to shop at Trader Joes, Ross, TJ Maxx or Safeway. Furthermore, pedestrians cross without looking both ways, so its best to keep an eye out for them along Southgate and Lake Merced (Arco Gas Station) as well as Southgate and Palmcrest (Burlington Coat Factory and Union Bank). Overall, I live 3 minutes away from Westlake Shopping Center, so its a convenient stop for groceries or dining. I wont stop coming here, but Westlake Shopping Center AND Serramonte Shopping Center are becoming crowded. I wish there was more space, but this is how it is now.

Great stores but the layout of the parking lots are ridiculous and getting in and out is always crazy. There are 2 parking garages but they are kind of hidden. One is impossible to find and looks like youre driving up a loading ramp, off of Park Plaza Drive. The other is behind the mall on west side, off Lake Merced Blvd., but has direct access to Home Depots 2nd floor, if you can figure out how to get in there. Theres a ramp that only takes you to the first level of the parking garage but is cut off from the upper levels. If you want to get to upper levels of the garage you have to completely exit back to the street and circle back around again to look for the second entrance to the garage. The layout and planning is just chaotic for all parking at this shopping center. I dont even want to get into how chaotic the open parking lots are. It is such a headache to park that by the time you park and go into the store youre grumpy and dont want to shop.

Very poor parking design, but what is worst is the continual malfunction of the elevator from the roof parking to street level by Marshall and Trader Joe. Three times in the last two months we have encountered an out of order elevator. This is unacceptable for individuals who are handicapped, the center should immediately call in a service repair person but shopping center doesnt. They tape of a funky sign on the elevator doors to inform the public-a little late once you have parked and taken out the wheelchair and set everything up. Why couldnt someone at that mall have the common decency to put a sign at the beginning of the entrance to the parking lot informing customers that the elevator is out of commission.

The mix of shops and places to eat here is pretty good, but I think its the worst designed parking lot I have ever been in, and Ive worked in transportation planning. I have come a few times and then decided it was too busy and/or I couldnt find a single parking space, and it took me 20 minutes just to get out of the parking lot. If I come here, Ill usually come not too long before closing, but I just try not to come here in general because I find the parking so maddening besides that also makes other people looking for spots really aggressive. Most of the anchor shops have locations elsewhere.

I live in SF yes it has a lot of shops and a mall downtown but I hate it down there it stinks all the time you get harassed a lot by men this Daly city mall is soo much more refreshing! I always find a place to park it never a problem. I go to Burlington coat factory, Ross, and the Petco unleashed for my dog they have awesome service there. Home depot when my guy needs something for his job everything is in one place it is super convenient.

Nice people, nice weather, nice setting. This place is very welcoming. parking can be difficult but not hard to find, although this place can be crowded at times you will find your self busy with all the interesting stores you can run into. trust me there are all kinds of things sto do here. They are open late nights sone 24hrs, there are also car meets and after party scenes. Come here late at night and its booming full of life.

Westlake in the 70s used to be a very safe and beautiful place. The tendencies towards over development , gentrification and megalomania in the past 30 years created more problems than it solved. The new design makes it very hard to find parking, they wanted to create a driving friendly mall , but in the name of modernization the created a labyrinth for driver. The prices are the only thing attractive in Westlake today.

For a smaller shopping mall, its a great place. It has a 24-hour Walgreens with Pharmacy. They have a TJ Maxx, a Ross store, Home Depot, Safeway, pet food and supply store. They have a Trader Joes. I love that one! As far as restaurants go, theres a burger meister and a Nations Burger and other restaurants . They have more great places like Starbucks and Jamba Juice, and lots more! Check it out! :-)

I go to Trader Joes at Westlake because it is easier to get to and park than going to stores in the city. Theres a Home Depot and a Safeway and a Walgreens and a Beverlys so I can get all my DIY shopping done along with the groceries. The downside is the parking and driving around hell that you will experience if you go when it is mildly busy. Avoid busy times at all costs. You will thank me later.

The issue here is not the center is the people who want to park their cars exactly where they want to go they have 2 parking garages total of 700 spaces but they wont park in the garages but drives round and round and round until they get frustrated and blames it on the center. If these parking garages are used regularly the main center lot wont be crowded and traffic will run more smoothly

Theres everything you could ever want here. I love that theres indoor parking by Walgreens and on the other side by Trader Joes, which comes in handy when I have my dogs and dont want them exposed to the bright hot sunlight. If youre patient, you can always find a spot, just hover . If youre looking for a high-end purchasing, go to the Galleria and Stonestown or Stanford mall.
