At first glance, I found it depressing. It is a ghost town. However on the second visit I went to AMC to watch a movie with my 2 year old daughter, I realised it is actually a great place. First of all, because there is noone, I didnt have to worry about my toddler misbehaving and annoying others. Movies were very clean and new. She could throw tantrums if she wanted and I didnt have to worry about dirty floors or dirty looks from others :). I could relax and enjoy the movie. Thankfully she was perfect anyway. So it is my number 1 secret spot for movie watching with a toddler :))) Secondly, Macys was also dead. With xmas coming up, you can shop all day long, assistants are free for you, no lines, no messy change rooms, and there is always stock! How amazing is that? Thirdly, there is heaps of parking!! Right next to the entrance :) Fourthly, Victoria Secrets store is there too. Fifthly, great ride on cars and other kids coin operated machines. They only cost 50-75 cents! No other children riding the car your kid wants to ride. And lastly, there is a mini game arcade at AMC, I played the dancing machine, without people staring at me. I had so much fun! Overall, shame this place is a ghost town. AMC deserves more people there. However as you can see there are great benefits of few people in the mall.

Yep; I agree with the others: a ghost town. Apart from the theater & "Legends," thats about it... Macys & Sears are gonna close soon I think, then after that, itll just be Penneys (though who knows for how long.) Even the food courts nearly dead; about the only business still in operation there is the Subways. It really is a shame, because I remember this mall during its heydey several years ago, when it had a huge variety of top-notch retailers of all sorts of items (not just clothing, either), everything from books to music, there was even a Disneys store at one time, and thriving food court. Those days are gone now, sadly. Now...about all it has going for it is its a large, spacious, free air-conditioned place to hang out and read and spend a hot Summer day. Thats about all.

At its peak, Vallco had an arcade and was a great place to go to. Over the years, they had to close nearly the entire 1st floor, and many of the best features of the mall are gone. They still have an ice rink, and the 3 main department stores are still there. But one good thing is they have a newish AMC movie theater, and it is pretty nice and has less crowds and obnoxious teens than the other AMCs. I hope that the theater will attract new stores and bring back life to the first floor, as it is a little pathetic. It sure doesnt help that they tried to change the name of the mall, and failed at doing so. For a mall centered around the nicer side of the valley, youd expect a lot more.

Yup, its a ghost town. It looks like a place they shot scenes from "The Shining". The mall bathroom I went in was super clean. Probably because no else one used it that day. I went to watch "Poltergeist at AMC". The theatre is clean also. At the end I thought maybe Im missing something about the mall. So I drove around the parking lots to see if I missed any other sections of the mall that may be more populated. I ended up at the top floor of the JC Penny parking lot and noticed a bunch of brand new Acuras parked there. I figured with the mall so empty some Acura dealer was allowed to use it to store inventory.

I cant wait for Vallco to get a make-over. Over the decade + that Ive lived in the Bay Area, Ive seen this place go downhill. The only thing keeping it afloat is the AMC theater and bowling alley. Its so sad...the rest of the mall is pretty empty and key retail shops like Victoria Secret have left. Most people just go a few miles south to Valley Fair for everything. This place really needed unique small local businesses to fill it for a unique experience, but theyve failed to attract them (rent is probably too high for them). You have 3 major department stores though -- Macys, JC Penny, Sears.

Whoever designs the architecture of the Valco Mall was off The Rocker. You have to take several different terms in order to enter a parking structure, lonely to find out that youre on the opposite side of the mall in which you intended to be. Other than the layout of the mall, once youre inside its pretty self-explanatory with one Loop, has a Macys and used to have a Sears. This mall has half open boutiques and half occupied boutiques. Sometimes it feels like a ghost town, other times its popping.

The worst ever. Seriously, we got hit with a power outage and a FIRE ON THE ROOF forcing an evacuation the very minute the premiere of Roque One: Star Wars story was set to start. Ugh. Whats with the mold on the walls, dirt on the lower level. I cant believe voters turned down the redevelopment plan to make an expansive new green roof shopping center. Please, please let this die and do a complete rebuild.

Large, echo chamber, empty mall with mostly restaurants at the end and some shops and that could have better visibility elsewhere. Good place to exercise walk and discover off the beaten path stores. Wait and see who buys, develops this mall-that-could-be. Many large retail stores moved out of here. AMC theater, ice rink, some big restaurants draw intermittent crowds here.

I like creepy, and this place gives me a scare-boner every time. I hate to see it go, but it is done, son. Hey, idiots who are against the property getting redeveloped: what, do you want a rotting mall carcass in your cute little village? Its pretty obvious Vallcos not going to rise out of the ashes. Maybe you could turn it into a homeless shelter.

Are they still open? Their website still has the holiday hours for 2014 listed. Maybe they went out of business and forgot to tell the store owners. Or, The new owners are going to tear it down, and build housing for Apple spaceship employees. Sears is having their store closing sale now, its only a matter of time until the rest follow suit.

The saddest place on Earth. Nothing here but the decaying ruins of a post recession America, and an okay Chinese restaurant. This place has failed three renovation attempts, and couldnt get two bills passed to tear down the mall. Its a blight on the city of Cupertino and is locked into a state of limbo for the next fifteen years.

I grew up near this mall and it was great! The only problem is that now with all the stores closing, its empty. It has the AMC theater which is good and Bay Club with their Starbucks. There are many different plans to do away with this mall but none prevail. At least near it is the Cupertino Downtown aka Cupertino Main Street.

Sadly vallco shopping mall has become sort of a ghost town over the years. I remember even a few years ago there were some cool shops to check out. It seems nowadays the only thing open here is the AMC Theater, dynasty restaurant, and tatami. Hard to find a reason to come here other than the occasional movie. Very sad to see.
