Tldr: Staff needs better communication training and widespread knowledge on product locations and store policies. the staff here doesnt know where things are or basic sales answers. I asked the first one I saw where bath faucets were and he just said 2nd floor in the back. Ok, me being able to read led me to the bathtub section. No faucets, only tubs. I asked for help at the customer service desk, and that guy directed me back to the tubs and told me theyll be hard to find. I dont understand what he was doing that meant he couldnt take a minute to help me search for something he said was difficult to find, because I came back five minutes later with no faucets and dizzy from searching every aisle there twice. Then the unhelpful staff member actually looks at the faucet Im holding (the one Im trying to replace) and asks the lady sitting behind him if they have it. She told me the right aisle, but that it was on the first floor and that they wont have what Im looking for. Ok, so I head down, finally find the right spot, and I find my faucet, now I just want to know the return policy. I ask the nearest staff member, and as helpful as he tried to be, he gave me only maybe and probably and I need to check with the returns desk. (The girl there was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful) Based on several reviews that I read, its a common problem here. Suggestion: train the staff to double check for things they arent sure of, like product locations, stock, and policies. But dont worry, that was more about annoyances than a it-was-so-terrible-im-never-going-back ordeal.

Wish I could rate this in negative stars. Absolute worst customer service you will ever get anywhere. Id rather deal with the cable company or the IRS. As a rule, most home depots are kinda terrible but this one has an extra special devotion to being lousy. The employees are either hopelessly ignorant, rude, downright mean, or all three. Management is nonexistant. NOTHING is in stock, hardware is a MESS. Customer service will outright lie to you for months about where your special order is and ultimately steal your money. On top of all this, the woman at returns is beyond rude and cant count to more than 2, its two floors and one of the escalators is always broken, theres no one anywhere to help you load anything, you have to watch the cashiers like a hawk, and they just dont have anything you need. If you must go to HD, take the extra 5 minutes to drive to colma, or better yet, the 15 to Lowes, or beronio, or off a cliff at fort funston, theyre all better options, trust me. Been going here for years and Im honestly not sure why but never again, Ive had enough. Take note HD, Im a general contractor, this is 100k a year walking out your door. Good luck.

I had a mixed experience here. I was looking for a door sized mirror to put inside a closet door. I went to the door area on the first floor and asked an employee where I could find a door-sized mirror. "Sorry, we dont sell those," was his answer. He said because this was a "design center" they had a very limited selection. Fortunately I asked another employee if they sold door sized mirrors, and he said "sure we do, right up on the 2nd floor." I found the selection and it was great. Another underwhelming service experience at this Home Depot was asking an employee where the orange traffic cones were. She waved her hand vaguely to the left and said "in hardware." I didnt think to ask "could you show me exactly where," but in retrospect should have done so. It took me several minutes of hunting to find the incredibly limited selection of traffic cones. Next time Ill go to a larger Home Depot.

I called and the departmental phone for lighting rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang. I was ready to come buy some stuff. Instead, I gave up; Ill be buying online. I made the mistake of calling back two years later. And guess what: the departmental phone for hardware rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang and rang. Back to online! They are just not willing to staff at a level that would make them helpful.

I just left this store in tears after who I assume to be a manager of the flooring department was INCREDIBLY condescending to me, treating me like I was a silly little girl who didnt know what I needed, even though I knew EXACTLY what I wanted. Not only did he treat me in a way that is unacceptable for a business transaction but he refused to provide the service that I requested (one that the store is absolutely capable of providing) without even giving me alternatives. I guarantee that his behavior would not have been the same if I was accompanied by a man. I will be taking mine and my households business somewhere else from now on. Improve your customer service Home Depot Daly City to all people regardless of sex or race and you might have a fighting chance.

They must of gotten the memo while I was busy shopping at their main competitor (starts with a L) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of competent, eager and knowledgable assistance I received during my building project. Fran and Maria in flooring, Leo at Service/Door handles were especially helpful, cheerful and professional. They want to help (even if its not in their dept!). You wont be disappointed. I recommend some of their other locations for better selection if you are doing a big project like I was as the Design Center has a lot of everything but not much of anything :)

Not a good Home Depot.. go to Colma 2 miles down the road instead 1. No wood cutting facility 2. All pick ups are upstairs even if you specify pick up from "Pro Desk" downstairs. Pretty annoying if you parked near the door and had a big order. 3. Took ages for someone to come help me get stuff to the car 4. Store is disorganized and no indication of what is upstairs vs downstairs

I walked in and asked for assistance with making a key. They paged someone twice and I was hitting the assistance button as well. I finally received helped 14 minutes later. When I got home the key did not even work. I called the General Manger, he said that he will refund me my money and give me a new key that works. I will never go back to this store.

Home Depot is a great store! The staff at this one is very diverse and most of them are usually very nice. They are very helpful and know their stuff, specially when it comes to plumbing parts. The store is big so dont be scared to ask any employee for help as they are very helpful. They have everything you need to fix your home or apartment.
