Great story on being Fd... read it and buy beware of dealing with Cardinaleway Volkswagen. Spoke to the GM & Sales Manager (Lee/Manny) a half-dozen times each; each time they said they would call me back in 5-10 min. 45-60 min later Id call them because they didnt call back (must be too busy). At first I was just asking for all the costs to the car (Im an out-of-state buyer and my son is buying his first car). Fast forward 48 hours... now Ive been talking with them several times and have all the prices dialed in (every time I talked to them the price was different; nickel and dime me for everything - wanted to charge me for putting air in the tires... no kidding!). The GM earlier had handed me off to a sales person; we explained to him that my son whom is buying a car with his own money (first car - been saving for years) is coming Sunday morning. I asked to put a deposit down on the car so there would be no problem as my son had to rent a car to get there and ask a friend to drive him an hour to the car. SUNDAY - CAR BUYING DAY: Everything was set, my son went to get a cashiers check on Saturday, we had already agreed on the total price, sales person gave my son his cell phone and my son txtd him at 10:00am so they knew he was coming (it was the sales person day off... but he was coming in to write the deal). I did inquire the day before about putting a deposit to hold the car - GM/Sales Manager said dont worry. So my son pulls in Sunday morning - and CardinaleWay Volkswagen sold it out from under him. Serious. They didnt call us to let us know before my son rented a car and drove an hour - and they gave us a very bleak "sorry". So thats bad... totally Fd him right. Hold on... so we swallowed the pill, and started looking again (nothing we could do). The Sales Manager said hed work with us and make it right (my son sent his friend back to LA to return the car). My son finds the exact same car, 3,000 less miles, white vs. gray. So if someone said dont worry - I will make it right, youd want to believe they do your right. Cardinaleway Volkswage wouldnt even offer to lower it by $1. Cheap bastards! Offered me to TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. Now between me calling back all those times and them telling us theres nothing they can do... there are plenty of poor customer service examples; Finance Manager wouldnt answer a simple question on taxes and put me on hold for 20 minutes only to have the sales person pick up the phone.... Crap like that. I should have known after the first few calls; not interested in the customer, interested in the sale! Would I recommend you go there and buy a car - HECK NO. Tell you what, weve talked to several other VW dealers today; from McKenna in HB to Santa Monica and all of them have been super helpful, knowledgeable, straight up! I asked each of them if they would take a deposit; EVERY ONE OF THEM SAID YES! IM NOT ONE TO NORMALLY COMPLAIN, AND TO BE HONEST THIS IS MY FIRST ONLINE REVIEW. They total Fd a first-time buyer who has been saving for years to buy a car. Great first experience! Thanks Cardinaleway VW - good job! And on a positive note; they didnt leave my son stranded in Corona and did give him a lift back to LA. Thanks Brandon!

My husband and I went to this dealership looking to buy a later model, used Jetta in a particular color, for a particular price. We had certain things we really wanted in the car and we had been hunting for the perfect one for quite awhile with no luck until we came to Cardinale Way Volkswagen. They had a good selection of newer used cars and several colors to choose from in our price range, so we feel like we really got to pick and choose what car we wanted, instead of just taking what was merely available. For those of you who have gone shopping for a used car, you know it can be incredibly difficult to find everything you want. Im a really picky person, too, especially when I know Im going to be spending thousands of dollars. So it had to be exactly what I wanted or it wouldnt be worth it. Our salesman Leslie S. was great. He came out as soon as we pulled up and asked us what we wanted, then really helped us find the car that fit us. Before this I went to another dealership and it felt like they were just dragging me from car to car to see what would stick without listening to what I actually wanted. But Leslie was very knowledgeable about the cars themselves and answered all our questions, and he was always patient with our (my) pickiness. I didnt feel any pressure at all, and I really appreciated that. I rated everything about this experience as great except for the price, even though what we paid for our 2010 Jetta SE was very fair, I just think it would be nice to pay less. I told you, Im picky. So just to conclude, I feel like we got exactly what we wanted at this dealership. There was no pressure, no messing around, and the salesmen were normal people (!). They worked with us to get the payments down to what we wanted, and we even got a warranty for a good price. My husband and I are happy with our purchase here and we would recommend this dealership to anybody.

I have been a customer at Cardinale for over 7 years. Ive leased and purchased at this dealership. My sister and mother are customers as well. We really thought this was a great dealership. Most of the staff knows our family by name and are all very friendly but our last experience there was awful. (Ill be kind enough not to bring up the issues with the service department over the many years I had either of my 2 cars serviced there). We had reached the end of our lease on my 2nd Volkswagen and decided to purchase it. We had gotten pre-approved with our own financing from our bank and went into the dealership to do the deal. We were told that they wanted to see if they could get a better interest rate for us but we told them we were not interested and had made a firm decision on using our own financing. We signed all the paper work and went on our way. We monitor our credit very closely and were notified a few days later that there were THREE inquiries on both mine and my husbands credit. We were totally baffled after learning they were submitted by this dealership. They had done this completely without our permission and now we are fighting the credit bureaus to take these inquiries off our records. Aside from all of that, the bank that we leased the car from before purchasing it was never notified by the dealership that we purchased it and were calling us every day wondering where our purchase agreement was. Our purchase didnt get funded until about a month later because the guy who worked in the finance department forgot to submit the paper work!! We have contacted general manager after general manager (the turn over of employees at this place is ridiculous) who just really dont seem to care or take responsibility for this. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP! They are super shady and we are DONE doing business with them!
