*****WARNING WARNING WARNING***** To all my Chico friends**** Do not attempt to purchase a car from the Putnam Mulholland car lot. They are a shady bunch of un-ethical jerks. I walked in today to purchase a car from them. The have the car listed at $3995. The Kelly blue book on the car is $2700 in excellent condition (this car was not in excellent condition). I offered $2700 out the door. Jack, the sales guy, called the owner and told him what my offer was. After waiting for approximately 30 minutes, I still had not heard if my offer was accepted. I left the car lot and was promised a phone call regarding my offer. I made it two blocks down the road and received a phone call. Jack, the sales guy, told me the owner would not go below $3500 out the door. I explained to Jack, the sales guy, that $3500 was still $800 above blue book and I was not willing to pay that much over blue book. Jack, the sales guy, told me that was the best he could do. I asked if I could talk to the person that makes the decisions. He told me no, that he is the go between. I told Jack, the sales guy, to pound sand. I walked in with cash money and a legitimate offer. These guys are charging people way to much for cars. Do your homework and dont buy from Putnam Mulholland car sales in Chico. I will never do business with such a horrible group of people.

My main issue was service and how terrible their website is. Nothing can be done online besides checking out inventory. Obviously it is a car dealership so many people looking are without cars and do not want to go into a dealership and risk being denied when its hard to even get transportation. They were the first dealership I called and felt as if I was not being taken seriously. Maybe they think im some young college kid that does not know how to make payments on a vehicle though I have been paying my own bills the last 6 years without once being late. They are partially right I am an independent 24 year old mother of two about to start graduate school. I do not like being treated as if im not serious and happy I did not go to them. Maybe its because I receive survivor benefits through ss so they think im poor? Not sure but they need better salesmen. The same day I was approved by the second dealership the same day over the phone. I am happy I took my business elsewhere.

I will admit that I know very little about cars, so my naïveness probably made me an easy target to be taken advantage of. I bought a car from this dealership and I was assured by the man selling the car that the car was in great condition and had no issues. It started having problems after about a week, but I just chalked it up to the fact that the car was 13 years old. I put in about $700 in minor repairs but problems kept popping up. Just 23 days after my initial purchase the entire the car wouldnt even start and when I took it to the shop I was told the whole engine needed to be replaced, which was about a $4,500 fix. Overall I had a horrible experience with the car I bought from this place and I recommend looking around at other dealerships in hopes of finding a more honest seller sho will be straightforward with any issues.

Just purchased a car from putnam mulholland, Im a first time buyer. Well the second day I had my car all my lights turned on including my check engine, and my rear diff light was flashing so I took it back and they turned it off, and thats all they did since I purchased it as is like an idiot, so here I am now less then five months down the road.... computer went out and my axles leaking fluid an no to mention its a freaking subaru and its going to cost me a couple thousand to get it fixed. So to anyone who has experienced something similar to what Im going through pleaaaaase do not buy a used car from Putnam Mulholland

BAD business ethics. Came fom Redding CA, had cash, told them Im on the way. When I arrived, took the car for a spin and it started leaking oil, tranny fluid and belt and engine made funny sounds. I didnt buy the car, couldnt chance it. They told me over the phone everything would be ok. I spent gas I didnt have to get down there. They didnt even have the car ready for me, had to cross the street to get to the car and had to move other cars around so I can pull out and test drive it.

Really enjoyed the straight foreword salesmanship these guys provide. Scott the owner worked with us to find the car that was within our budget and meet all of our needs. We shopped long and hard for about 2 months. We wanted quality and value. Their prices were better than anyone else in Chico, and the rest of the north state for that matter. Thanks for making a deal with us.

Overpriced and not as advertised. Bought a car from them and immediately had to get it towed. They said there was nothing wrong. I break down again and take it to a 3rd party who tells me that whoever worked on it last put in the wrong fuel pump and the front suspension needs a lot of work. Bottom line, do not buy from these guys

The selection is incredible they have Two lots of cars to choose from. Í personally beber trust car lots but í absolutly trusted Richard after he has given me no te a son to doubt his judgement. He printed out car fax and was not pushy AT all.
