Island Paaaaa-ciiiiiiiiiiifiiic, shopping araw - araw (everyday in Tagalog) A quaint, ethnic supermarket catering to all your Filipino needs, Island Pacific is conveniently located across from Los Cerritos Center, next to Leelin Bakery & Café. Weekly specials advertised in the Filipino newspapers keeps customers coming back again & again in preparation for dinner or the next big gathering. Being within close proximity, I frequently come by, usually on Wednesdays & Saturdays for the latest editions of Filipino newspapers, and to browse the fish, seafood & meat selection. Whether it be fried tilapia, pompano, head/on shrimp or pork belly, many a meal has been made courtesy of Island Pacific. The butchers are quick with the complimentary cleaning, cutting & frying. The produce section is rather limited compared to bigger supermarkets, of which I usually purchase sweet potatoes when theyre on sale or the clearance bananas (Hey, just cut out the bruised parts. Its only a $1/bunch!). The middle aisles have various Filipino packaged goods, such as soup mixes, canned goods, noodles, jars of halo halo mixes etc. Pricing on those can be reasonable to more expensive than other markets, depending upon the item. Various kakanin & merienda bites are available to purchase, including pan de sal, biscotti, puto & bibingka galapong. Service has been good every time Ive shopped here. The lines at the register move along quickly enough. Parking is in a private lot shared by Leelin Bakery & Café & Hometown Buffet. Weekends are especially busy, making parking harder to find. Presyong Sulit! Island Pacific Supermarket serves up the Filipino community & those that enjoy the cuisine. Located close by, with the meat, seafood & produce I enjoy eating, theres no doubt Ill be back for more salty, oily, sugary, fatty goodness that is Filipino food. Highly recommend!
