This store that may look nice on the inside and the outside at first glance but the workers in it make the store look like crap... ITS THE WORST STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the time you walk in the door you are continually watched and followed around by the security guards then they start to harass you and ask you if you need any help over 20 times or more when you in the store for more than about 3 minutes... Beware of this store the customer service sucks!!!!!!! when you ask if they know where something is there clueless!!!! I was wearing a suit and tie today and, they still treat everyone no matter how you dress or look or how much money you have the minimum wage workers who must of failed or dropped out of high school or college because they all lack proper intelligence to be working there.. All you hear most of the time is the workers bitching cuz there mad about getting paid minimum wage well the population of teens who are age 16-20 is huge here in newport and, these workers here are all at least 30 years old or older these jobs are for teens!... THIS IS THE WORST STORE EVER DONT EVER GO HERE!!!! Unless you want crappy unprofessional unintelligent workers that will provide you with terrible customer service! THIS STORE SHOULD BE CALLED! HARASSACIVILIAN INSTEAD OF PAVILIONS!!!!!!!!

I was highly impressed with the changes they made (especially with their new product lines) until I got in the check out line. Very few lanes were open and one on particular I used had one of the rudest cashiers ever known to man. Talked down to you like you were a little child or something. Very disrespectful and unprofessional service. While their new products (borrowed from Albertsons) are a huge step up, their already mediocre service has only gotten worse. Its a shame bc this is the only mainstream supermarket on the peninsula

May be higher priced than other supermarkets, but thats what the Pavilions brand is. All the workers are super nice - I cant possibly see how anyone would leave a negative review. As for security - youre in a city full of drunk kids that are in or just got out of college - of course theyre going to be watching the cameras.

Great selection of beer and wine. Also highly recommend their breakfast burritos, although Im not happy that they recently went up in price. I wouldnt necessarily grocery shop here if youre on a budget. Many of the items are priced higher than other places. However the wine selection and deals make up for it!

The most convenient place to get groceries on the peninsula. A decent seafood selection and a growing number of organic products. Excellent liquor selection and decent prices. Cons: -No organic or uncured bacon. (I have to go to Trader Joes or Whole Foods) -No organic French Vanilla creamer.

The asian cashier lady asked for my bfs id when I was buying beer, and I was over 21. He was just waiting for me couple feet away. Was that really necessary? I feel like she did that to piss me off. It wasted a lot of time in the line, although of course I get my beer anyway lol

Later at night is when I went in and it was, go in get what I need pay get out easy and quick in the latter hours, I spent no more than 4 minutes all together from when I walked in the door and walked out those same doors. I had never been to that store so that must say enough.

Clean and great service! Here at 11 pm and the lady was happy to make us coffee and the cashier gave us monopoly tickets. Dont know what theyre for, but that was nice. Also learned that you get points towards a free coffee every time you buy a coffee. Thats cool!

Store could use more selection. Being the only grocery store close to balboa peninsula, youd hope they would have good variety. 1/3 of the store is liquor and wine. That would not be a problem if there werent 20 other liquor stores in the area.

Although call Pavillions, its just another Safeway in disguise. You can expect a similar shopping experience. The layout of the store is pretty logical and they have some great fresh deli sandwiches.

Pretty much the only grocery store on the Newport Peninsula - nice selection of stuff but tiny parking lot and can be difficult to navigate the streets if youre not familiar with them

Typical Tourist Trap. Wildly overpriced, mediocre selection, long lines. Much better off going inland a few minutes to Ralphs, Sprouts, Growers Direct, etc.
