This was my second visit here, and I was waiting for a second experience to write this review just in case my experience improved, but it didnt. The selection here is good, but the staff here is apathetic and a bit rude. Im used to the usual experience of going into a more niche/specialized running store to be greeted by running enthusiasts who are kind and really interested in helping you find what you need and learn more about the sport. Here, everyone was very cold towards me. I spent a good while looking at shoes since Ive been considering buying a new trail shoe, and even though there were people free and roaming around, no one asked me if I needed help. I finally gave up, and went to the register to check out with my husband, and the woman behind the counter treated us as unimportant since we were making a relatively small purchase. If I lived in Campbell and had no where else to go, I would maybe come back, but the good selection doesnt make up for their staff. Id much rather spend my money at Sports Basement.

// , This Road Runner store has some of the best service I have ever had in a retail environment. The employees here act more like enthusiastic gait consultants than salesman. They get very busy, but always make sure to help everyone. Their return policy is ridiculously long, because they can afford to offer it! This is definitely not the usual "maximize profit" retailer, and I respect their decision to keep it that way. The customers also treat the employees well, and the customers who start acting like entitled yuppies, au la "but I can buy this at DSW for $4 less, just give me the stupid refund", get asked to leave. Given that retail is usually where the souls of entry-level employees go to die, I found it all rather strange, but good.

The store is well-lit and spacious. The attendants are friendly and helpful. The focus of the store is in the center -- a comprehensive shoe-fitting advice station. It started with measurement of the feet, followed by arch height, foot pressure distribution and running gait analysis. I was blown away when I can see the video of how my feet pronate while running on a big-screen. It may not be THAT scientific but It only took five minutes to complete and the info is very helpful in selecting shoes that are good fits. The only complaint I have is the limited parking space.

This place made me want to gag. The sales people insisted on shaking my hand and having me do a foot analysis. I just want to buy shoes, its not a business deal. They then made me try their custom inserts, which didnt feel good, tried to sell me special (too tight) socks, and only offered shoes that are bigger than I need to try with their inserts. To top that off, they tried to sell me a 90-day return plan for $35. What happened to shoes stores that are sure enough of their fit capability that you didnt have to pay extra? Not going back, and wont recommend.

Stopped here to have gait analysis done and get a new pair of running shoes. Staff were very helpful and they had one of the best gait analysis Ive experienced thus far. Unfortunately they only had 3 pairs of shoes for my running style and size, but given my shoe size is 15, its quite understandable. They also can create custom insoles that match the curvature of your foot; although on the pricy side. Plan to come here for my next pair of running shoes.

Second visit to the store. First time there was a 40 minute wait to have my gait evaluated. Couldnt wait that long and decided to come by another time. Second visit - one other customer in store and two sakes people present. I was told the wait was 7-8 minutes. 20 minutes later I left. Not clear why the store manager couldnt hell me since I was the only other customer in the store

The layout works well. The selection is limited compared to other locations. While making a return, the person processing my return was going all over the place, and had to run in the back to get a print out of the transaction, so their processes and operation techniques probably need work at this location

Pretty good selection of shoes, but really slow service. They stress the analysis stuff which takes a lot of time. Also, as has been mentioned before, the $30 insurance they try to sell is a little awkward for a $120 pair of shoes.

Very helpful staff. Excellent Shoe Dog machine to analyze your gait. Decent shoe selection, although I wish they stock more Mizuno styles.
