I just read all the reviews posted here, let me sum them up and then add my experience: great place to buy a Honda, terrible place to buy parts or get service done. I agree. My personal experience summary: parts department is good, cashiers department is not friendly, and the service department is worse than terrible. Story: I was in the parts department over a dozen times in the last 3 spending over $500 in parts. My experience with the parts department was a 4.5 out of 5 stars. They were great except for one sarcastic remark from one employee and one wrong part ordered (which was exchanged without issue). The rest of the time, Kurt, Adam, and Howard were knowledgeable, helpful, and very pleasant to do business with. After doing the major repairs myself, and having had such great service from the parts department, I called in to the service department to have them fix 2 final issues. 1) a small leak from a metal water heater hose and 2) my a/c blowing warm on the drivers side and cold on the passenger side. Over the phone I had spoken with Luis, who took down my information and told me to bring the car in. When I arrived at the service department, Zac took care of checking me in and I informed Zac that even though I spoke to Luis on the phone, I want to continue to work only with Zac. Luis calls me the next day and says that it will be about $350 to fix the a/c issue. We stop by the dealership after work to see what they have figured out. The mechanic tells me that in order to fix the leak, he has to replace the metal hose and the thermostat housing. He says that he will have to charge 5.4 hours in labor. I had just replaced the thermostat housing 3 days before, and had done it in under 2 hours. The mechanic says that he will not guarantee the work unless he gets to replace the thermostat housing again. Since I know from experience that it will not take 5.4 hours, Luis looked up the hours in the computer. To replace the thermostat housing is 2.4 hours (note: the intake manifold has to be removed) and to replace the metal hose is 1.4 hours (note: the intake manifold has to be removed). I explained to them that the pricing is still wrong because the hours for each of those involve taking out the intake manifold. So they want to charge me twice for taking out the intake manifold, and twice for putting the intake manifold back in. They refused to see where they were wrong and argued with me, occasionally using the, "but thats what the system says" excuse. I refuse to pay 3.4 hours, or $570 in labor, for what takes less than 2 hours to do in a driveway. For the a/c, they said about $350 would fix it, and I agree. When I got my car back, all they did was replace motor that is easily accessible right behind the glove box. Thats a $95 dollar part, and I could have changed it out in under 15 minutes, yet they charged me 2 hours of labor and the problem has not been fixed. They said they would have to perform an a/c service next and that it would cost more. The service department lies, cheats, and steals from people with absolute disregard for bureau of automotive repairs rules, or customer service.

First of all, let me say that the Honda dealership was always my first choice to have my car serviced. it just felt like a no brainer and the right thing to do. since I own a 2015 Honda Accord Now for my experience. I made the call to Buena Park Honda in the A.M. on a Tuesday and was transferred to the service center, which lead to a voicemail, so I left a very detailed message with my call back info stating that I want to set up a service appt.. I waited till Wednesday afternoon and still no call back (first mistake) so on that day I called again a few times, avoiding the voicemail each time until I got a person on the line. since I figure they have no real system or set turnaround time on responding to voice messages. I finally get my appointment made and wait for my date. the day to take my car in finally arrives and I drop off my car just fine and they arrange to have me picked up by shuttle from my work when the car service is complete. they say the shuttle will call me when its in the area so I can be ready. I get the call that my car is ready and its in the area, I wait about 15 minutes before I clock out for lunch (since the street is in plain sight from my office, and there was no sign of the shuttle yet). I waited outside during my whole lunch hour for the shuttle to arrive which never did. I called about the shuttle and the front desk receptionist was NO help at all and transferred me to the service dept. which never answered. I ended finding a ride from a co worker instead. but at this point I had to take time off work to get my car, since I would be needing my car right after work to pick up my daughters from school. and when I picked up my car to my surprise it wasnt washed. Now I know that sounds absurd for me to mention that because it seems like Im asking for a lot now, but Im not. the service tech that signed me in said that they would give me a complimentary car wash, and I almost declined until he followed up with a "hey, its free right" so I accepted, but low and behold the car was not even washed. Also the shuttle ended up calling me 4 hours after the first call to pick me up which I obviously didnt need at this point. So in the end, this place seems to need better management in the service dept. and better execution and follow through. Im almost afraid that the services I received werent done right (Im not a mechanic so I dont know,) due to the fact that they cant get the simple complimentary services done efficiently. which no dealership should ever have their customers feeling this way. they should have made me feel the most comfortable, and informed. especially knowing that they specialize in my vehicle specifically, which I just purchased in 2015. but with those mishaps it makes the whole company seem inadequate. beware of Buena Park Honda.

I would have to agree with most of the bad reviews about Buena Park Honda. I find their service department most disappointing. I usually bring my car for basic services and maintenance to Norm Reeves Honda Cerritos, but I decided to give Buena Park Honda a try. Boy, did I regret it! Some weeks later after my first car service, I received a letter from them informing me that I have skipped some necessary services the last time I was there. They offered me a discount on those services, so I went for it. Initially, they estimated that the cost would be $700, and I agreed to it. Later that day, they told me they found out that my car was in dire need of another set of services that would cost over $1500 (even with the discount!). This took me by surprise because I regularly bring my car for maintenance at Honda Cerritos, and I dont use it too often; it couldnt be in such a bad shape! I asked my service advisor to prioritize only the services that are of utmost importance, and we were able to lower the fee to $1300. He did not really bother to explain why the services he chose were necessary. I was under the impression that my budget was out of their consideration. I felt like I was handing out a blank check to the mechanic! To make matters worse, only last week, I almost had an accident on the freeway because my brake pedal did not work! I know that I cannot totally put the blame on them, but I was expecting my car would be in good condition two months after a $1300 worth of automotive services! After all, the reason we bring our cars for maintenance and services is to minimize the risks. Furthermore, I wouldnt say that their advisors customer service skills are great, not by a long shot. Their interpersonal communication skills are average at best. I have talked to many of them because of the troubles I had with their service, and not one of them seem to know anything about building good relationship with their clients. Even the person in charge of the live chat was unhelpful and slightly rude. I am planning to just have my car inspected at Norm Reeves Honda Cerritos. Apparently, their customer reviews are far better than Buena Parks and for good reasons! I value my money and I dont want it to be wasted on inconsequential services. Definitely not going back.
