I walked in there and wanted to order business cards, they sent me to their customer service and printing department . After standing there a while a lady approached me and asked how can I help you ,? I said good evening and I told her that i wanted to order business cards, she said do you have a file I said no but I can show you pulled out two of my business cards so she can advise me on how to go from here, she gave me a paper to write down all I wanted on the cards and she said that she was going to forward it to the designs department , which will call me by tomorrow , the next day I didnt hear from them so I paid them a visit and the guy I found at the reception looked funny at me for a while and he came over and I told him that I was here to look at my design for my business cards, he carelessly said it wasnt ready and I told him I was told it will be here yesterday and can you please give me the contact of your designs orders customer service support so I can know the status of my order, this guy went into his computer to pull the phone number it took ages, unpleasantly I walked out and called them , the phone number wasnt not picked I left a message and after a while today I received a call from there department confirming that they have not received it , that I should go back to the the same location were I made the order. And when i walked in I just decided to end the drama. People watch out for this store it needs an overhaul completely.. People here are unfriendly, why do they even come to work? Am certain this store should be closed until theres some sense of customer service.

I had a less than pleasant experience here. My story is as follows: I am a computer programmer and one day recently my computer died as these things sometimes happen. So, I went into Staples which is only two blocks from my house to see about getting a new machine. I found one and it had to be ordered. A few days later, the computer came in and they called me, so I went to the store. The hard drive from my machine that died is still working, so I paid $40 extra to have them install my drive into the new machine. The first problem, which was not Staples fault, was that the box was damaged by UPS. Unfortunately, the hard drive that came with the machine had what sounded like a loose screw in it. The ONLY choice that Staples had was to return the whole machine and order another one, so I had to wait an additional 7 days. One of the Easy Tech Associates, Chew, is more interested in his cell phone rather than doing any work or helping customers. I sat there while the guy that was helping me did the work I paid for. He was really nice and helpful. But, the entire time I was there (at least 45 minutes), this guy Chew spent the whole time behind the counter, sitting on his ass, looking at his cell phone. A couple customers came up to the counter to ask for help and he acted as if those customers were interrupting him and bothering him from looking at his cell phone.

I like Staples. Im more of a netbook person There were some neat Toshiba netbooks that were working really well and i should have got one. now im using a mac book pro 5, which i guess isnt that bad but a little heavier than id like. i want to try out a Samsung galaxy tablet. Staples is pushing some tablets on windows 8 that have a thin keyboard that is slow to type on. the price of notebooks is going up. they are selling some notebooks that also have it where you can scan it. then i could just write a book on paper and scan it using a digital camera or fax it at a career center. considering selling the mac book pro 5, there is a used computer buying/selling shop near ucla, so that would be better than a pawn shop presumably, but then i have data on this. ive got to see about this. there is a 2 cent per page manuscript printing shop on whilshire and la jolla. and i get 10 free pages at compton library per day. i guess i should stick around la a little longer. we are going to see.

At best, the employees here are extremely lazy. At worst, theyre thieves. Had a package delivered to Amazon Lockers here, but it was mis-delivered to the store instead. A Staples employee signed for it, opened it, and... half my stuff went missing. Instead of shoving everything back in the box after opening it and giving it to UPS to return to sender, a Staples employee (or employees) took what they wanted and left the rest lying out in the back of the customer service area. Which is where I found a few (not all) of my items out of the box and strewn about after multiple phone calls and finally going into the store to look for myself. Mistakes are inevitable, but no one who worked here even tried to help me figure out what happened. Terrible, terrible service.

After a terrible experience at the El Cerrito store, I took a chance going to the Berkeley location and happy that I did. The experience was as different as night from day. The Berkeley store is clean, well organized, and has fully stocked shelves. I was greeted straight away and taken directly to the aisles for the items that I needed. The associate who assisted me was BLAKE, and he was outstanding! Blake is very customer oriented, knowledgeable about product, and very personable and friendly. He actually turned my opinion around in regards to Staples after my previous experience. I will go out of my way to visit the Berkeley store in the future. Too bad that the El Cerrito store cannot offer the same.

I tendered a "pick up at store" order online. When I arrived at the store to pick up my order, after receiving a call, I was informed that they didnt have my order. I left, came back the next day and they still insisted they didnt have it, and appeared to have no interest in figuring out what was wrong. I persisted, and they ultimately found the order 15 minutes later, which was just blocked by another order. No apology whatsoever. Ive also roamed the store on numerous occasions for quite a while before anyone has asked me if I needed help.

This store is crooked. Beware! They charge about $22 for an item shown on the Staples website for $18. A Google search shows the exact same item (a reel of tape for a label maker) for $14. I wonder how much of this chicanery is going on. When you order online you can usually avoid having to pay for shipping and you definitely avoid wandering around in a barn-like store with two people on the floor who cant answer questions.
