I will not be returning to the Aliso Viejo Barnes & Noble ever again. I went tonight to return a puzzle I had purchased as a gift and received multiple lectures from staff in a nasty manner stating that it was past the 14 day return period and therefore I would have to take the discounted online price as a credit to be used in the store only. I had the receipt with me and it had been 16 days since I purchased the item. I did not like their attitude or their policy. There are choices when deciding where to make book or puzzle or toy purchases and I will choose to make my purchases from stores that have more customer friendly policies. Your unfriendly practices will be putting you out of business in short order.

The selections carried by Aardvark truly exemplify the Barnes & Noble, from the great LGBT selection, some real back-in-the-day political treatises and histories, as well as a rather large spread of types of materials for such a small space. The staff seem to be friendly, although I only saw their interactions with others.What really caught my attention, after the books, was the darling tabby cat, the mascot of the store. I didnt catch the kittys name, however, but have to say I havent encountered such a docile cat in quite some time. What is it with bookstore cats? If anything, Im coming back not only to check out the store, but to pet the beautiful cat.

I am out of the area and trying to buy a book for someone to pick up. I could put it on hold, but the policy seems to not allow me to pay for it. They told me to buy it, it had to be done on line and mailed to my client. I cannot pay for it so they can pick it up. They recommended I buy on line. Why give the business to Amazon??? I asked! They finally made an exception and allowed me to buy a book, and put the book at the "Books on hold" counter with the receipt in the bag with the book ! Management should change such an absurd policy.

This is a very nasty Store of a very nasty "Book" "Chain". They run it like a dungeon, where rules and discipline abound. Staff is very rude. They have obstructed the couple of plugs available, so DON NOT take your Laptop. They incessantly hound you to buy stuff, if you want to sit in the cafe. Another rule, CANNOT eat anything in the cafe if you did not buy from the trashy store menu. not even a personal snack if you happen to be there. All in all, it is all about coercion tactics to make you to spend. What a lousy mafia joint.

I called to have a book held for me today. The girl on the phone, said, Yes, we have it and I can hold it for you in paperback". She took my name and number and we hung up. Went to the store to pick up the book and it doesnt exist at the customer service counter, service counter and its not in the computer. What? Was my phone call a ghost? Did I phone the wrong store? I checked my outgoing numbers on my phone bill to validate I am not crazy and guess what? I am not crazy. This is so wrong! and a Waste of a customers time. So sad.

Price! Price! 7) Love and affection on a cold night Ok, maybe not number 7, but who would not love this book store? Who?!

They usually have the books I want, which is great, but the service is terrible. When you ask for a book, the people look as though theyre doing you a huge favor, and are generally unfriendly. The one at the irvine spectrum has way better customer service, and although the aliso one is closer, I try to go out of my way for the other one.

Lovely, peaceful setting! The food from the little Starbucks in the corner is very good and the staff is very nice. There is a large book selection with something for everyone, from the manga to the biographies. They also have other items, such as chocolate, bookmarks, toys, ebooks, etc. Personally, I could stay here for hours.

I work at a University, I ordered books on line and they were not what I thought, the store Manager "Marla" not only answered the phone before hours, she also reached out and offered to help. She went way out of her way and I have an appointment to get replacement books today. Thumbs up! Thank you for all your help Marla.

Had a great experience with a really helpful employee. I needed advice on content appropriate books for 6th graders and was shown a wide variety of options in both the YA and Teen section, definitely not the kind of service I could have found online. Exactly why Ill keep visiting brick and mortar bookstores!

I love to go there and just study in a very relaxed atmosphere. I live in neighborhood and love to read. But sometimes a closed room and sometimes not having an interesting book,, make me get out; so will just go to Barnes and Noble, pick a book and study along with nice warm coffee.

I love this Barnes and Noble! Its always well stocked, the employees are knowledgeable and nice and there is a Starbucks inside. Their Funko Pop selection is amazing plus they have a large selection of geeky/nerdy graphic novels. I definitely recommend coming here.

Nice when you want to browse or need to find a book same day. They have a Starbucks inside which is always really busy and filled with people. Not conducive to a quiet reading session but the liveliness is appreciated in the usually quiet book store atmosphere.

Between Delicious Coffee, great workers who make you feel at home and a super clean place full of toys, books, gadgets and just about every reason to come over and enjoy the day. need I say more? the staff alone is as sweet as syrup.

Great place to get a new book or go sit down to drink a coffee. A little noisy at times in the coffee area. People that work there know where everything is and can help you. They have everything from CDs to magazines.

How is a book $30 more here than at their online store or Amazon. They also will not price match. This is the only store I have found that wont price match. Guess Ill be taking my business elsewhere and saving money.

This BN is always clean and well stocked. If you cant find what youre looking for the customer service desk, centrally located, always has a friends staff member there to retrieve the book or order it for you.

Horrible experience in this store. They do not have a large selection of technology books. The staff was like pulling nails to get help from. I think I will just buy from Amazon from here on out.

Good selection, but the same cookie cutter offerings as every other location within 400 miles. Knowing your demographic audience and interests should lead to better customization.
