Almost everything they sell seems to be from Specialized, which seriously limits options and quality. I honestly think this is a disservice to the Albany community, where they basically seem to be the only bike shop. I need convenient options of higher quality. I like the people that have helped me, but I also think they installed a speedometer incorrectly (I would probably have removed it anyway, but it fell off before I had a chance, within a few rides after this place installed it). The service department always seems pretty busy, so its good to schedule in advance if you want your bike back soon.

You know the jerks who wear fake team jerseys when they ride Sunday mornings? Yeah, well this is their home. They have mucho dweebish road biker attitude here, and yet not a lot of expertise. They couldnt even size my tire correctly. Ill take the extra few miles in the future and go to performance over on University - cheaper, more knowledgeable, and they actually seem to want to help me keep my bikes on the road. Tried to shop locally and non-chain, and once again Albany dissapoints...

I am dealing with Solano Avenue Cyclery. I just wanted to express my thanks to them for assisting me in placing a bike in the hands of a needy person. Nice to do at Christmas time. However, I also need to say that they need to accept phone calls. I had to get the person to travel a great distance to finalize the deal and I couldnt reach them by phone to confirm this meeting. Otherwise they are good people.

This bike shop is great. I took my bike in and they stopped what they were doing to look at my bike, veru patiently explain in detail what the problem with it may be with no sense of rush in the world. I was clearly ready to spend a lot more if necessary but they recommend only what I needed to get it back on the road. This is definitely a bike shop of integrity. I highly recommend them.

They have always had what I need, and their staff has always been a pleasure to work with. They are super laid back, but still know their stuff. Their repair shop gets pretty busy, but they have been able to squeeze in small repairs for me. I also like checking out the BMX section, this is the only place in the East Bay that Ive found to have an extensive BMX section. Extra rad.

I went here with a question on tubeless tires that two other Berkeley shops had no clue on what I was talking about. (They also didnt have tubeless tires.) The staff here answered my questions, had what I wanted in stock, and gave me some good advice on bicycle lights. Best shop Ive run into, at least in the Bay Area.
