I LOVE cats, they are THEE SOURCE of all patience and contemplative serenity after all. Anyway, I have a near deaf white feral kitty (Honey Bear) that I rescued from downtown Phx. who is semi-tame. He loves the Fancy Feast from Petsmart. The people there are pretty friendly though I dont know how sharp they are about anything thats beyond the ordinary, but isnt that what your vet, other pet lovers, and the Internet are for? If you want food and pet gear at LOW prices, youre not going to get super-slick, whiz-bang veterinarian techs pilling your pets in the "Hotel", or being something theyre not. These people probably make a little more than minimum wage. Never had an animal groomed there, but based on the one customers experience I would agree the tick population should be beat with a broom in the salon. But like I said, other than that the folks there are mostly friendly, things are laid out totally logically, the lighting and music is bright, and the place is generally pretty clean. DEAL PEOPLE. By the way, babies, Im a man who loves cats, and is proud of it! Take that you controlling type males who hate cats and need a blithering dog to totally dominate and train to do stupid pet tricks! Word to the wise, when the Galactic Space Cats return to take over the planet, who do you suppose will be the first humans to be mysteriously "disappeared"? Thats right Homer, think about THAT when your cuddling up to your Schnauzer with the stinky breath tonight. PEACE OUT BABIES.

Terrible place to board your dog. This is coming from someone who worked there. Dogs are left in their kennels unsupervised and often without water. They will tell you that your dog gets two 15min walks a day but that is NOT TRUE. Your dog will probably get 5min TOPS if youre doing an individual walk and 10 minutes for group. Speaking of walks, the walk-room is an indoor room with concrete floor where dogs play and lie on the same floor they poop and pee on, and with 20-30 dogs at a time your dog WILL smell like urine once you pick it up. The pricing is ridiculous, leaving your dog there for three days would cost around $100 and thats WITHOUT the "Doggy daycamp" (which costs $16 A DAY just so that your dog can go out from his kennel for longer than 10 min) Beds there are pathetic, you HAVE to bring your own bed or else your dog will be sleeping on a cold sheet during its stay. The place is dirty, smelly and poorly kept, dont let the grand opening of the new store fool you, the petshotel is probably the WORST place to bring your pet. The store side, on the other hand, is okay and the associates are really pressed to learn as much as they can about animal health and care, but I strongly advise that you stay away from the petshotel

I pride myself on going with the flow, and not raising a fuss...but I MUST write this negative review. I arranged to drop off my dog before work for some shots. I arrived early and saw many others had the same plan. I waited in line for 30 minutes while the first few dogs were getting checked in. I watched several others employees of the pet hospital walk around with no acknowledgment of the several of us in line. The reason we were in line is because we love our pets, but have to get to work. You cant have one person checking people in...while so many wait. I left and all of us were very frustrated. A woman literally put her dog on the scale and pulled out her purse ready to go for ten minutes with no response or comment from staff. I tried to call to cancel and just let them know that they should try to have more staff to help in the morning, but waited on hold for ten minutes each time before hanging up. I finally called to talk to a manager but nothing so far. I just want to say that this place just doesnt get it. There is promise here but I have to say at this point...avoid the Tempe store at all costs...and this is coming from a nice person trying to understand why.

I went to this store this afternoon to look at supplies for my Chinchilla. When I arrived I noticed a baby chinchilla they had on display that appeared to be sick. I asked for some help from an employee and I pointed out that the baby chinchilla looked sickly. She was up front with me and said that she didnt know much about chinchillas but he was eating and was active so she thought he was okay. I felt the need to take him home so he could get out of that place! After taking him home I noticed that he had mucus around his eyes, his eyes appeared to be swollen and he was VERY UNDERWEIGHT! I decided to take him to a different petsmart and as soon as they looked at him they knew he was sick, the guy picked him up and said he was so underweight that he could count his vertebre he then offered to return him, get him the care he needed and then I could purchase him back. For being a place that supposedly cares about animals, why was this chinchilla NOT being cared for properly. He was visibly sick!!!! The ONLY reason that I am giving this store 2 stars is because the employee that initially helped me was honest and she was also very kind other than that I wouldnt be giving them any stars.

Left our 3 dogs there for a 10 day stay. People were friendly but every time I talked to somebody, I would get different information. When I finally arrived to drop off my fur babies, I was again given different info on the stay. I was not happy but did not have time to arrange different boarding. When we picked them up we were charged differently than originally agreed. Argued and was able to get close to original pricing. By the time we got home, I realized that one of our dogs was sick with kennel cough. A day later, another was starting to cough also. So basically, we played extravagant prices to get our dogs sick.

I was just there to buy 2 tiny feeder gold fish for my son. They refused to sell them to me because my tank was too small. Even tho they have sold me them before no problem... I have a little over a gallon tank and this time they suggest I get one or two tetra, but they wont sell you any less because they live in schools of 4 or more.... I dont get it. Ive had fish for years and had no problem taking care of them. They told me if I wanted to buy a fish I had to get buy a bigger tank. Rip off!!

I just came from the Petsmart on Elliot in Tempe and I wanted to acknowledge good customer service. I have seen many negative reviews for this site but my experience was different. I took my Lab Cali for a nail trim. She was taken in immediately and I requested a little shorter trim this time, which they did. The assistant that helped me was Sarah and she was very helpful! It was a good experience for Cali. (she loves going there!) Karla

Every time Ive come to this store Ive been impressed with Customer Service. The Employees I spoke to were extremely knowledgeable. From Reptiles to Puppies they knew all there was to know and were extremely helpful. Ive not tried any other services so I am rating it on this alone. The employees make me want to return again and I know theyll have the answers to my questions. Thank you for Reading this Review! :]
