I was going in to check a price for a memorial tattoo. I told him I wanted it exactly like the picture (A spider woman and industrial bars). He criticized my tattoo because he thought it would look funny together and he treated me like I was stupid. I dont care what other people think, a tattoo is for me, not decoration for others to appreciate. It can be both, but that was not my intention. That was a memorial for my brother. Something deep and meaningful that was apparently not up to this guys standards. I then asked to talk with Ray because I didnt want to talk to the other guy anymore and to double check the price the first guy gave. I said the same thing to him about what I wanted. He said okay, gave me the same price, but he wasnt patronizing or disrespectful. Also, the price was a little higher than the last time I went. UPDATE: I went back in to get my tattoo, there was a mix up with scheduling, so I had to wait an hour and a half past my appointment time. Honestly, I wasnt upset because I get that mistakes happen. I was perfectly fine with waiting. I wouldve changed it to 5 stars, but after waiting x amount of time, the girl working asked me to come over to pay. In the middle of the transaction process, someone walked in the store, and she completely stopped helping me and went to help those people. (To clarify, there was twice that she helped people in front of me. Once in the middle of helping me and again after I had to transfer money. Im talking about the first time, the second time I wasnt bothered by it.) Now, Im a really easy person to please. I dont get upset easily because Ive worked retail for years. That was the first time Ive almost snapped at someone. I, personally, wont be going back. Also, my tattoo was crooked. Im almost sure my artist knew it because there was a wrinkle in the sketch when he put it on my arm. He just wanted to get it done. I knew it was going to be, but I had already had so much drama because of this tattoo that I ignored it. My biggest regret to this day. Im so disappointed. Please dont waste your time or money!

Not the reputable shop everyone thinks it is. They recently took advantage of my disabled sister. My sister, a fellow tattoo artist, went in for a cover up a month before her wedding. Being an artist, she did a lot of research, went in with detailed sketches and instructions, and viewed artists portfolios. She chose Mr. Lopez at the Club Tattoo Mesa location, and he greatly oversold himself. She wanted a simple black vine cover up with deep spiritual meaning in mendhi. Mr. Lopez had to re-center her drawing and clean up the lines which was fine, but while actively tattooing he made unauthorized, unapproved changes to the design. He asked at least 3 times "would you like the leaves filled in?" to which my sister adamantly replied "no!" because the open leaf had an important spiritual meaning in mendhi. Mr. Lopez ignored her clear instructions both written and verbal and filled in those leaves. He also ignored instructions for vines to be drawn thick to thin, and his lines were very sloppy and not straight. What supposedly professional tattoo cover up artist cant even draw a straight line? Additionally, he used his cell phone during the sessions while wearing gloves, returning to tattooing without changing the gloves. Thats very gross and unsanitary. All of these were addressed with his manager who completely denies everything, very unprofessional and they must be hard up if they are willing to go to court over $500. They tried to claim she was satisfied - yet she left in tears and I had to take her to Golden Rule for a 4 hour session to fix it. And then they told me I should of let them fix it - yeah, lets let they guy who doesnt know how to draw a straight line, change gloves, or follow instructions try to tattoo her again. Brilliant. I dont believe in suing people, but the blatant lies and unprofessionalism here just cant be tolerated, especially when it involves a disabled person whose funds are very limited.

Great management but as far as artists I went in for a cover up on my right arm and ended up having to walk out due to the artist having no idea what he was doing, so I have a half shaded and half outlined cover up on my right forearm that needs a cover up but with how butchered dark and scratchy it was done by the so called artist even previous artist that have done cover ups for my friends recommend at least two laser treatments before they can go in and properly fix my arm which is even more money for something that should not have happened. Since then I have turned six people from club tattoo Mesa not bc of the magnet and other artists but bc there is a chance since I dont remember the guys name that did it I was to mad. Management was very accommodating and even even refunded me money even though they have a no refund policy I advise that if you do go in there be sure the artist giving actually knows what he is doing. Take your time to look at their most recent work and follow up with manager. I hope you guys got rid of that artist and got someone else in there that can do what they promise before permanently marking someone. I went through your artists it seems the one that did mine is no longer there. It has been about eight months now and you told me to come back when you and Ray were speaking with me about it he told me to let it heal then he would take it on should have waited for him in the first place. I canot figure out how to post a pic but I had three small tattoos covered with what was supposed to be a biomechanical system but instead looks like I got work done in prison and a giant dark blotch as people say. Like I said its not the management or shop and if that artist is gone which it seems bc I dont recognize any from the pics you guys are better off. I was able to post the pics for you but it would not let me do it to my post here.

EDIT: The assistant manager did reach out and apologize for how things went down. I went in later the same day and took my husband with me this time-- the staff was attentive and even the tattoo artist was extremely kind and informative when my husband described a memorial tattoo hes been wanting (last time we walked out was due to an artist, but the desk staff was really friendly at that time, so we were shocked at the artists attitude), so Im not joking when I say I was genuinely surprised and relieved our experience was different. The room I got pierced in was clean and the piercer had a calm demeanor that helped me stay calm. I wouldnt have gone back except for their efforts to provide a better experience (my husband and I usually try to give a place a few tries before making an ultimate decision), which is commendable and much appreciated. I just wish a good experience was a guarantee every time you walk in, which is why Ill give it 4/5 stars. ----------- ORIGINAL: Everyone pretty much says the same thing-- theyre super pretentious and snobby here. Ive gone twice over the years and walked out both times. This time I went to get a piercing and the receptionist(?) was rude, but the kicker was that while I had my paperwork filled out, waited for the piercer to finish his break, but someone walked in about 10 minutes later and the piercer went straight to them and started taking them on a grand tour and going over options-- the manager (?) was already doing that, but I guess they needed more help? Sat and waited for a while, then finally left.
