Never shop here! 1) The large macaws in the bird room are kept on perches with no food, water or toys all day for the casual browsers to gawk at like it is a zoo or something. 2) The place is filthy - days of dropping on the floor and in the cages. Dead birds in the small bird cages. Water in the cages that looks days old. 3) Understaffed. The three times I have been there have all been on the weekends. There have been only two employees there, a manager and a staff member. The manager as far as I could tell did nothing but sit in the office. leaving the one staff person to care for the birds, service the customers and do grooming. No wonder the place was so filthy. 4) Over priced! especially the birds and toys. Toys are twice what you can order them for on amazon. As far as birds, there is a white board that says Macaws $1200 - $2000. yet every macaw I asked about were $2000, even the 6 year old re-home. Older birds do not cost as much as babies! Baby macaws can be purchased from other breeders and stores in the valley for $800 to $1600. 5) I watch a macaw being groomed on one visit. The scissors that were being used were not sharp so instead of cleanly cutting the feathers, the quills were crushed and bent and had to hacked through several times. Really! How cheap can you be? Get some decent tools and keep them in shape. Would you go to a barber or beauty shop if they cut your hair with dull scissors? Whoever owns this place is obviously only interested in MONEY. They keep the staff cost low, charge exorbitant prices and only provide a 2 day guaranty that the bird is healthy and will only offer store credit if they accept the return. Do your research! There are better places to shop in the phoenix area.

This is the same owner that has been a bird store owner/abuser for decades in Mesa. I have over 200 photos of bird abuse, filth, disease, and injured birds in her store (she changed locations and store name) from a few years ago. From my one hour visit it took a week to get the smell of bird urine out of my nose. My friend (pet groomer) had to leave the store in tears because she couldnt take the horrific conditions. City of Mesa does nothing and for some reason the Humane Society/ASPCA doesnt care about birds. Do not give her your business and file complaints to get her out of the pet store business.

Horrid, evil, kiniving people that work here. Never go here. They are liers. I put my bird on consignment and they tried to steal him. He was supposed to consign for 1500 and they put 800 on the paper after I walked out. Thank god I did not sign the contract. They also butcherd my birds wing while the police were they fighting with the woman to give him back. They have also had cleanliness problems in the past. They have also let a baby blue and gold fly righ out the doors, found dead in a back yard just days later. Crooked people! NEVER EVEN WALK THROUGH THEIR DOORS!

We stopped by this place while in the area, just to see what kind of selection they had. While they had the largest number of birds Ive ever seen at a store, the bigger birds didnt look very well cared for. They were all plucking their own feathers and one of the macaws had picked every single feather off his body except for some of his wings... He looked like a little naked chicken. I dont know everything about birds, but this doesnt seem healthy at all!

We are new to Az. I Worried I couldnt find the quality of Store, staff, groomer and supplier my special needs birds are acustim to back home. Prices are a tad higher then Im use to but well worth it. Az Bird Store has everything we need,want and where looking for. Thank you Debbie and Katy. I can easily continue the high quality and standards of care I give these quirky guys . Greatfull to have found you.

First time going here and can honestly say this is the worst bird store I have ever visited. From the time I walked in I could not find a single employee. When I went into the bird room there was no employees to be found and when I finally saw one in the back and tried to have her talk to me about their birds she was extremely unfriendly and did not seem to care if I gave her any of my business.

I love this place! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They take the time to answer all my questions and help with any concerns. I have gotten all three of my birds from The Arizona Bird Store and would recommend them to anyone. They have everything I need for my birds and I bring them back regularly to be groomed.

Go here for all things avian! Their staff are passionate & knowledgeable; owner Debbie is simply the best! She gave my daughters budgie-Gengi, who developed a mysterious black spot on his beak, the most awesomely gentle loving care, for which I am truly grateful! I highly recommend Debbie and her Arizona Bird Store :)

Huge selection of budgies (parakeets) macaws and other large birds. Even parrotlet s. They sell mostly large cages and everything you need for your exotic bird. Also provides services like trimming your birds beak and toenails and wing clipping. The employees have great knowledge about the birds they are working with.

My husband and I had only come before for toys, but today we brought our sun conure in to get groomed. They debanded, groomed, micro chipped, and sexed out bird. All the employees were so kind and wonderful! They did such a great job and took really great care of our baby! Love this place and love them!

This is a fantastic place to shop. The people there are extremely educated on the birds. They have an amazing large room full of birds that are all out that you can see how they act what they do. Its amazing And Id suggest just going to see this place before you buy a bird.

I love this place! Debbie is awesome and I drive from downtown Phoenix to get my birds groomed by her since she is the only person Ive found that knows how to do them properly and with care. They really care here and I recommend them.

I cant say enough good things about this store. Large variety and availability of birds, babies and adults, many of which are difficult to find anywhere else. Hands down the best store in the Phoenix metropolis.

I love going there, and playing with the birds, but most of the birds are not well cared for. Some have food and water some dont, and their feathers are unhealthy. I just end up feeling bad for all of the birds
