My experience with trying to get my dog training classes here was AWFUL. Literally spent 4 months just trying to get the trainer to show up to the class to train my dog. I had made an appointment with their new trainer who was supposed to be fixing the train wreck situation and when I called on my way to the class a woman named Joyce answered the phone and said the trainer wasnt going to be there tonight and there were no classes scheduled, this was after I had come in the week before and met with the new trainer and the manager to set up that appointment!!! I tried explaining that to Joyce on the phone, but she just rudely said that I must have made a mistake! I called the next day and the new trainer apologized and said something about forgetting to pull my file from the other trainers binder. Again this was so frustrating after I had gone into the store and talked with her and the manager to get this appointment put on after 4 months of getting blown off from the previous trainer. It also didnt help when I was getting refunded for the classes, that the new manager kept trying to get me not to cancel and saying how the new trainer is fixing things.... obviously not if they blew off the first new appointment we had set up/ Needless to say it was just an awful experience and I would not recommend their store.

I used to go to Petsmart, but started going to Petco because of their better selection of items. This past week I took my puppy to the "Puppy Playtime" and was very disappointed. One of the other puppies kept attacking my puppy (biting her aggressively not playful AT ALL) and was NEVER corrected. So when my puppy finally defended herself the trainer corrected my puppy and acted like she was an overly aggressive dog. I was able to brush that situation off, not a huge deal. Then at the register I was talking to another customer in front of me. My puppy was crying/howling (she not used to being out yet being she is only nine weeks old) and the other customer said "Oh cute. She sounds like a wolf." The cashier then says "Yeah, about as much as a Chihuahua." She was a snot about it, but I didnt let it bug me. Then she says to me "Your dog needs to calm down." Really? She is a puppy. Puppys cry. I responded by telling her our other GSD was the same way as a puppy so we are convinced it is a GSD thing. She then tells me "Ive never seen a German Shepherd act that way." Such HORRIBLE customer service. We will be returning to Petsmart being Ive NEVER had any problems with them.

If youre seeking the best grooming service out there, congratulations, youve found it in Amy H. at PETCO in Orem. Ive been taking my two dogs for routine grooming and baths for years to her. Amy is an artist when it comes to grooming my two very different dogs. I have been pleased with each grooming session. (she is a canine hand painted portrait artist as well) I also take my dogs to her often between grooming sessions for baths, which include: belly shave, nail trimming, ear cleaning and trimming around the face and hiney area. Amy is the type of groomer that will listen to your requests and will aim to please each time. You can tell she loves her clients as much as she loves her own pets and mine. When my dogs are ready I receive a cute photo of them on the table; sent straight to my phone. Its a come and get me kind of look, complete with bows for the female and a bandana for the male. BTW I drive from Saratoga Springs to Orem just for Amys services. A very nice added bonus is that Amy notices their health and any issues she sees as my pets age.

My family had a great experience with the trainers! Amy was so sweet and patient with all the questions our family had. We have a little Bichion Frise (Pearl) who was having a very difficult time potty training and Amy got us right on track and our little Pearl now uses the doggy doors like a pro. She also learned fun tricks and my kids just adore showing off her talents to their friends. Their groomers here are miracle workers too. They even put sweet bows in her ears when we pick her up. I have found nothing close to the price for either service and the trainers were so great to let me reschedule when my kids were sick. They communicate amazingly. Just make sure you go to every class the practice is essential. If you do not attend all of them you wont have a trained dog and are missing key information. The binders they use are super helpful in making sure all topics are introduced and you get a graduation goodie bag for your pet at the end that is darling. We just love the staff at this store!

We were ten minutes late...called in and informed them. She was apparently upset and proceeded with the haircut. My wife dropped them off and was apologetic and said she could reschedule but she declined and took our Maltese and Bijon Fraise. She was told to wash and trim them for a short summer cut. I picked them up and she was extremely rude and short. I was ok with that. Who knows, she could of had a long terrible day. What I dont accept is that she charged the shampoo and trim price for just shaving both my dogs bald! On top of that she did a patchy job leaving longer lengths all around there heads and body. All about pets made a similar mistake but apologized, didnt charge us, and gave us a free gift to make up for the wrong cut. Far more professional and a bit cheaper. Work through the wait if you have to.

I live in Lehi and drove to Petco in Orem for a grooming appointment for my rough Collie. They didnt save the appointment and we had to argue that. They took my dog and didnt do what we agreed to. When I say dont shave him to the skin I kind of expect that. He had some matted hair and I understand a few spot shaves might be needed. They then charged me an extra $12 because he didnt like being shaved around his behind. Who would? He now walks with a limp because they nicked him with the shaver. Charged me $75 for what? There was a brush out fee...again...for What? I wont be going back. The only thing they didnt shave was his head and tail. The employees werent polite and I feel like all they wanted to do was stick it to me. Avoid their grooming department!

I have a Shih Tzu with a very sensitive digestive system, and for months have been working with my vet to find the right food. My experience with the staff at this PetCo is that they really do not know anything about the dog foods they sell. They were dishonest about a particular brands recall history and despite there being hardly anyone else in the store, really rushed me on my questions. I found that they only carry one or two brands of dog food that are decent quality, but are very muchso overpriced compared to local "mom and pop" type stores. I gave two stars because the store is clean and organized, so its easy to find what youre looking for- unless youre looking for a selection of quality dog foods, which you will not find.
