I am out of state and wanted to purchase a gift card. I spoke with the assistant mgr on a Thursday...very nice, took all of my information. He said he would leave it for the manager the next day. I left my phone number in the event there were questions, etc. I checked on Friday afrternoon since I had not seen charge on my account. I called and asked for the asst. mgr or mgr. I spoke with the manager. She said she needed the code from the back of my card to process the charge. However, she had not called me. Also, she said everything is sent UPS. THat is fine, but she was unable to tell me when the package would get tothe UPS store. I am now up against the weekend and a holiday on Monday, and I do not know when the package would be mailed. She didnt sound reallly as if she wanted to help me very much for my $100 gift card. I told her to forget it. I decided that I will just send money as my gift, and tell the receiver to go to a different store for the item she wanted.

It was my first year at Burning Man, and a majority of the gear I got came from this store. The staff was really friendly and they helped me find everything I needed from my packing list. I had a great time talking with the staff about the Burning Man experience, and they guided me on what I need to be aware of when camping out in the desert. Besides that, they also helped me pick a camping stove that I could use when backpacking in the mountains. It was a total blast coming to this store. The staff was nice and they were very attentive to what I was looking for without being pushy or trying to sell me the most expensive thing they had. My only complaint is that their prices tend to be just a little too high. You can get a lot of this stuff for cheaper online, but if you need it right here and right now, go check this place out.

Personally, I had no issues with customer service, or smug employees. The two staff members that I dealt with tried to help me as best as they could. And helped me get what I needed w/o hassle. I was also able to chat them up a bit, and it was as pleasant as any retail store. Good place to go when you want to ask questions instead of just quickly buy an exact thing (e.g. R.E.I.). I would definitely bring them more business.

They are by far the best Climbing vendor for SoCal. They know what they are talking about which is a rarity. They have a great selection compared to REI which can be hit or miss. Their prices are very good as well. I have and REI down the rode from me but I drive 50 miles to go to the LA A16 because simply theyre better.

Im so glad this place is in the Presidio, close access to trails, easy parking, and they do price-matching. The people who work there are always helpful and pretty straight-forward. I love the community events, free yoga on weekends and that they sell cheaper skiing passes for Tahoe!

I came here with my wife recently to buy a new pair of hiking boots. Despite the weird parking lot situation, we had a great experience here. The staff was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Well definitely be coming back here when we need new camping supplies.

Great choices, good service - absolutely loved shipping there. The guy showing us the backpack was happy to sirens almost two hours with us, trying things on, explaining differences, losing backpacks with weights just so we could compare... Definitely will be back

This is the place to get all your "dream" camping gear. You can buy something cheaper at Big 5, but youll always be thinking about the one you should have gotten here.
