Great coffee and food, but once got a salad to go and they threw it in a thin cardboard box eith nothing separating it from touching the salad and dressing... it was weird. Aaand the dressing leaked all over the place. I told them, they said- "well we just say no to plastic!" As they handed me my iced coffee in a plastic cup... *confused* BUT quality otherwise has NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE. They even served me STEEL CUT OATS when I thought I was just ordering a stupid bowl of oatmeal like I do from time to time. They just always seem to go the extra mile, I think that is why I was just thrown off by the box thing I think... The coffee is fantastic.

I go way out of my way to get my morning coffee here. They have a cozy "youre home" feel, their coffee is good, and their food is solid cafe fare. But even more importantly to me, they do great things in the community. They offer space to queer artists, support groups, general advocacy organizations, religious congregations, and more. They empower Minneapolis and the greater metro and state regions...may we never lose Cafe SouthSide.

I dont know of any other cafe that has the supportive neighborhood feel that SouthSide does, and I have been looking. I know people who considerate it a second home, and although I dont, I love that they do. Small, quaint, positive, progressive, and a decent cup of coffee. I love it.

I come here mainly to support a bisexual/trans/queer community hub rather than the food. The food & beverages are fine though. Very kind & generous people who run it, they do a lot of work to support our communities esp for low-income/ homeless trans & queer youth.

In a city of pretentious coffee shops (which serve delicious coffee, dont get me wrong), its great to have a coffee shop like Cafe SouthSide where you can go and feel welcome. It is a wonderful community space that I truly appreciate.

I got my first cold press coffee ever here. No flavors, "just the goods" as the awesome barista put it. And let me tell you, it was a religious experience. Well definitely revisit as soon as I can!

Quaint little coffee shop snuggled in south minneapolis. LGBT friendly. Awesome veggie alternatives. A cute little garden outside along with a few seats. There is even little library inside.
