I hate to write a bad review, however in this case because of the stress, tears and heartache it caused I hope my review will help other brides. Miss Rubies new location is stunning and I was overjoyed when I found "my dress" at Miss Rubies with my family by my side. I ordered my dress last year knowing the time it takes for production and shipping. Several months later it came in and I could not wait to get "my dress" on in "my size". Unfortunately when I stepped into it, it was HUGE everywhere. So much so, that I had to call the consultant in to clamp my dress on me. I immediately didnt feel like it was my size. Even the consultant seemed a little shocked and just kept quiet. I asked the consultant to show me the measurements they originally took. She walked away and came back and said "the size of this dress was correct for the measurements we took" and even if you wanted a dress that fit you better, we wouldnt have the time to do it this late. In shock, I walked away with my oversized dress just repeating to myself that the seamstresses can make anything work and it would all work out. I am now 1 month away from my wedding. After 4 different attempts by the seamstress to take in the dress we both agreed it just isnt going to work. Because the dress was far too many sizes too big, she is capped out on what she can do and it just looks awful. The dress I dreamed about for so long, wont be mine to wear. The dress is the first detail you work out, and probably the most exciting besides finding your groom. Because I am weeks away from my wedding I simply will have to find something that works and carry on. I have been to over 15 bridal stores/botiques with no luck of anything that is close enough to my size. There are so many other details to work out and look forward to, instead of being in a panic not knowing if I will find something that works and still feel beautiful in. To future brides, ensure you or a helper look at the measurements while a consultant is taking them and perhaps ask them to take them a few times. I have had my measurements taken several times since at other salons and I think with proper measurements this situation I am in now wouldnt be happening. Also keep in mind that a dress in >2 sizes off from your true measurements will ruin the integrity of the dress when altered. They ordered a size 12 for me, all other dresses I have been a size 4, some even a size 2. My measurements and body weight have not changed. I wish this wasnt my story to tell or my "words of wisdom" to share. I am so disheartened...

My first experience at Miss Ruby’s was wonderful. We came to Miss Ruby’s in search of Bridesmaid dresses for a bridal party of 6 as the Maid of Honor I was impressed with how the associate showed my sister (the Bride) an amazing array of dresses in the allotted price range & color choices that matched her wedding color scheme. We found a dress my sister loved for all of us and ordered it on the spot. Two of us were with for the original appointment & were measured on site. The other 4 Bridesmaids were told to call in their measurements over the phone & pay. Our wonderful experience ended when we came to pick up our dresses. When we arrived for our dress fitting appointment the 3 women who were working (one was being trained) seemed less then pleased to have all of us there (5 of the 6 Bridesmaids, the Bride & the Mother of the Bride). One of them went and got our dresses put them in a fitting room then sat back down behind the counter. We discovered as we tried on the dresses that everyone who had ordered over the phone had a size larger than what their measurements had indicated. The sales associates remained behind the counter as the Mother of the Bride located pins to help us “adjust” our dresses to see what they would look like fitting correctly. They didn’t bother helping and only acknowledged that we were trying to hold up dresses after the Mother of the Bride had already pinned them. One associate also commented that “she finally remembered who we were because I had blue shoes on during our original appointment.” As we were walking out the door after no help from the associates who remained behind the desk for basically the entire “fitting,” we were then offered the alterations books & to make an appointment. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I was appalled to be treated like this after the amount of money we all spent at Miss Ruby’s on our dresses and the wonderful service we received at our first appointment.

I have never written a review before, but felt very frustrated with my experience with Miss Rubys. On the one hand, they have beautiful dresses and they are very helpful and good at picking out styles that fit what you are looking for in both bridal and bridesmaid dresses. The employees that I worked with have all been accommodating and positive. The bad, and it is turning out to be very inconvenient, is that nearly every single one of my bridesmaids have been measured very incorrectly and we have received all of their dresses in sizes WAY too big. Its not the standard need to alter the length or take it in a little bit, I am talking 4-6 sizes too big. I just dont understand how it could be so far off. We dont have a lot of time before the wedding and now we are having to deal with a lot of alterations that are increasingly becoming more expensive because of how big the dresses are. I am so disappointed because everyone was in love with their dress and experience until actually receiving the dresses and now it is a big inconvenience and everyone is disappointed with their dress. Its unfortunate because up until this we really loved Miss Rubys! If you are looking to go here, please double and triple check what size they are determining. You may be better off going smaller than they estimate if anything.

When I called to make an appointment for my bridesmaids, I was asked what type of dresses I was looking for and what information I would like the consultant to know before the appointment. I let them know that one of my bridesmaids is young and another would need plus size options. I was told the consultant would have some selections prepared and would be discreet about sizes. However, when we arrived for the appointment the consultant simply showed us to a single fitting room (to be used by all three women) and told us to look around for dresses and start trying them on. Then she walked away and we were left on our own. I had to actually track the consultant down myself to ask for plus size options as she didnt take any of the girls measurements or provide proper sizes. I was extremely disappointed with the service and lack of assistance, especially considering how expensive all of their products are. I would not recommend Miss Ruby to anyone else and they certainly wont be receiving my business.

After reading the reviews, I was extremely excited to go to Miss Rubys to try on dresses. My mom and I went and we were beyond disappointed. This was the second shop that I was at and the experiences were night and day. The woman who helped us here, seemed very bored and not interested in helping me find a dress. She had us search the racks ourselves, as she stood there and watched and then she put the dresses in the room. Basically, the only thing she did for me was close the curtain to the dressing room and zip/clip the dresses for me. Very disappointing. When I had a dress on, she would stand there and just seem bored. I did like a dress there but would never have gone back to buy it from them, as the customer service was awful. If I am spending that much money on anything, I expect good customer service (which isnt even that hard to do). I ended up buying a dress I loved from a store in the Milwaukee area where they were able to provide an experience that far surpassed that of Miss Rubys.
