I hired Hugo, a general contractor from Floor Traders 2 yrs ago to do a basement remodel after i had a washing machine flood a few rooms. He short cutted so I ended up letting him go at the end since I had to finish. However, my bathroom walls that were cut out by allstate 1 foot up, still have a marking where Hugo replaced the drywall and paint did not cover the marks. I called recently to get him back here to see if he knew what happened and why since repainting was doing nothing to the markings, he told me repaint in 2 yrs. so when I spoke with him, he told me he could not remember me, but said he would by looking at my CHEST?? that was very inappropriate and he tried to say he said cheek and his culture. I told him do not say that to any other women or treat people in this world like that. Well, of course, i was not going to allow him back in my home and i think people need to really be aware of him. I have no problems with Floor Trader, but when I buy the remaining roll of carpet, why did Hugo get the extra??? Hugo also had to re-do my flooring since his eye site is not very accurate and it was done crooked. He did mention having a green card to work in the USA, his license is only $400 per 6 months, when a general contractor in the USA is $3,000. sometimes more or less. I told Hugo i would report this under his license, but the license number he gave me 2 yrs ago is not valid. I had another contractor here and he too said he did the drywall wrong. People beware of HUGO. and i have the texts if you need the proof of our conversation. I really regretted calling him back, so if this is how he gets people or references, he never got one in the first way with me. Just beware and I will contact Dept of Labor next. Oh, and they do shortcut. They did not paint behind my hot water tank, but had to reset again and that is when I noticed it. He gave quotes for jobs completions he never did. Time to investigate Hugo with the IRS as well. You can contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.

WHEN YOU CALL THE FLOOR TRADER STORE THE MESSAGE CLEARLY STATES HOW FAMILY ORIENTATED THERE ARE.....WELL LET ME START BY SAYING THEY TREATED MY FAMILY LIKE DIRT. FIRST WE ORDERED A PRODUCT THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL, COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS A CRAPPY PRODUCT FROM THE MANUFACTURE. SO THIS SET BACK THE FLOOR FOR ANOTHER WEEK. OK THATS FINE, THEY GAVE US ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL WOOD THAT WAS AN UPGRADE THIS WAS NICE OF THEM I ADMITT, BUT NOT ONCE DID A MEMBER OF THE STORE CALL AND CHECK UP TO SEE HOW THINGS WERE, IF EVERYTHING WAS OK NOTHING! SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN 3 TO 4 DAYS TOOK 3 WEEKS TO COMPLETE. NO STOVE NO REFRIGERATER AND LOCKED IN ROOMS FOR THIS DURATION. AND WITH A PARENT WHO HAS DIABETES SO THIS TOOK ITS TOLL ON THE ENTIRE FAMILY. IT WAS BROUGHT UP THAT MAYBE WE COULD RECIEVE FLOOR VENTS TO MATCH THE WOOD FOR THE TURMOIL THAT WE ENDURED DURING THIS TIME AND THEY COULDNT EVEN DO THAT. WE UNDERSTAND THE NEW FLOOR WAS A PRICE DIFFERENCE AND WE WERE GRATEFUL, BUT ASKING FOR A LITTLE FLOOR VENT WAS TO MUCH. MAYBE I SHOULD SEND THEM THE RECIEPTS FOR 3 WEEKS WORTH OF EATING OUT FOR A FAMILY OF 4, MAYBE THIS SHOULD ENTITLE US TO A LITTLE BIT OF CARING FROM THE FLOOR TRADER TEAM. WHAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A LIFE CHANGING MOMENT FOR A MOM WHO ALWAYS WANTED HARD WOOD FLOORS TURNED OUT TO BE CHAOTIC, STRESSFUL, AND A UNPLEASENT EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS. WHEN FLOORS WERE COMPLETED INSTEAD OF SMILING SHE WAS CRYING DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY WERE DONE AND SHE COULD NOW HAVE HER HOME HER INSANITY AND HER LIFE BACK.

67 reviews 1.0 star rating 8/22/2017 I went in to this specific place to pick my flooring and tiles for my new build because they are a sub of my builder. The project manager wasnt available that we were told to go see. He was on vacation. So we dealt with someone who said they were the son of the owner. He took all of our information and choices and said that he would give it to the project manager person for specific dimensions and measurements for a quote. Weeks went by. No quote. I called for the owners son and he wasnt available. Then I asked for the project manager. He wasnt there either and wouldnt be for another few days. Still dont have a quote. So I email today (a little over a week later since the phone call) and ask for a status. I get told that my builder has the quote. I ask for it and he says I have to get it from the builder. What? You cant give me the number? Like I have to get it from the builder? What if I was purchasing it on my own. Would I still need to get the quote from the builder? Seriously? Now Im looking for different floor people when Im in crunch time.

I dont review anything online but am going to make an exception for these guys. First off, Id like to mention that Home Depot was a nightmare with 3-4 different parties involved. I had to order in the store, have a measurement taken by a contractor the installed by a 3rd group. It took 2 weeks to get the measurements done then the home depot contractor told me he couldnt get to me for over a month. Now the Floor Traders - Absolutely awesome. I was helped by Zach( I think that was his name!) Super friendly, helped me pick out the best carpet in my price range and gave me pros/cons for each of the other samples we were looking at. They sent one of their contractors out to measure the rooms the next day(home depot wouldnt give me the measurements even though i paid for them to do it, they said it was their information?what?). After measurements the carpet installers came out 3 days later and did an awesome job. Very satisfied with the whole experience. This was back in October and I felt bad for not giving them a review sooner.

I am in love with my new flooring!!! I am a repeat customer of this family owned business and I have never had a problem with staff or my flooring. I have puchased carpet, vinyl and hardwood from Stone Mountain which is now The Floor Trader. The staff was polite and gave me wonderful advice for color and style choices that fit into my lifestyle with 2 kids and 2 dogs. When I ordered my hardwood I was told it would take about two weeks and to my surprise it came in early. Mario, my installer, adjusted his schedule and did a beautiful job. He was so nice and was such a hard worker. I got a follow-up call and a thank you note from my salesperson at The Floor Trader and would recommend this store to anyone who needs flooring.

Sunday was my first time visiting Floor Trader after finding their business via a Google search for flooring stores in Tacoma. Shannon Bradley greeted me quickly and gave outstanding service right up to end of my 1.5 hour time shopping when he offered to carry the laminate samples out to my car. I could not have been happier with every aspect of my visit. Selection, service and price were all excellent. I will be ordering my new counter tops from them in addition to the flooring. So happy I found this place and Shannon!!
