Ive come here several times before opening (taking over) my own business in this mall (took over a business in the Mall, more then a year ago). I find that the average foot traffic at the mall is more then reasonably low at all hours of the week/day aside from Saturdays; mind you I am from Southern California (San Diego) - where all the Malls are always Hustling & Bustling! and when I first moved up to WA, I lived right by South Center Mall (almost always high traffic). This Mall has very unique layout, which does NOT support ease of access to all stores and can be kind of confusing as well as frustrating for both customers of the Mall and employees... especially when affected buy parking, which get amazingly bad on the weekends. In other words - youll do a lot of walking back and forth, as well as a lot of going around... depending on your parking and shopping situation. A lot of the stores in the back leg (constructed and added on; later in the life of this mall) have that "out of the way" - "off the beaten path" kind of feel to them. Over-all they have a pretty basic and decent selection of stores, but it comes back down to the layout of the mall and some of the store in the back leg of the mall kind of getting forgotten. Ive gotten to know some pretty amazing people here. I practically live at my business... so this mall is a second home for me... I do shop here a good amount (mainly cuz I work here); but honestly/personally its not among my first pick/choices for a shopping destinations.

Very clean nice stores like the layout. But we made the mistake of parking in he back lot. Came through JC Pennys wasnt aware the mall closed at 6 pm. Got all four grandchildren out of the indoor park Jump. Walk down to catch up with my daughter. Walked all the way back and JCPenney was all closed up. We only found one door to the out side on the back side but it forced us to walk only one-way . Which was the wrong way. Was forced to walk with four small children all the way around the mall in the dark with temp in the low 20° s . But we finally made it. I would of given them 5 stars if I new its not good to be late getting out of the mall before closing time.

This mall is like an IKEA. Lots of winding halls that go absolutely nowhere unless you have a map, lots of sad little kiosks that dont look very busy. I wanted a Cinnabon cinnamon bun and the guy behind the counter, who couldnt speak English very well and did a lot of gesturing, told me no, only prepackaged cinnamon rolls, which came in packs of six or more. That was a total ??? Probably why every time Ive gone to the mall nobody was in anything except the anchor stores, and even the anchor stores are sad, like Sears and Target.

Long has been the day when the south hill area was truly Puyallup. Think Federal way commons (slightly smaller scale). South hill mall has all the mainstay shops and store you would expect . Sears, Jc Pennys, Target, Dicks sporting, and the usual internal shops like Spencers, American Eagle, Victorias Secret, Abercrombie, even a "bouncey place" for the kids. There is a smaller movie theater and a myriad restaurants like Olive Garden, Famous Daves, Red Robin, and the like. Its a fair place to get what you need.

I like this mall because it has most of the stores I need. Its small but well stocked with great stores. Its hardly ever over crowded, which I love very much, because you can easily enjoy shopping better. Plenty of parking space, movie theater available and great food court too. Its location is great too, because that area is full of other stores that can have what you are looking for in case you werent able to find it at the mall.

Good stores, good variety, and good food. Dont go in to certain stores if youre a teen because I swear everyone thinks youre shoplifting. Some employees are so rude :/ Got yelled at for trying to take a plastic bag at target to put my stuff in. This employee yelled at me because I had to buy something to get those bags apparently. I had just bought three items but I guess I couldnt take a plastic bag!

Its a decent size mall but they have taken out a bunch of good stores and replaced with new ones unfortunately oh well but it has a good size court food with many choices of foods also there is target connected to the mall and the movie theater as well it does get over crowded on the weekends starting Friday- Sunday I would recommend Coming during the weekdays before 12 other wise theres no parking

Super rude and unprofessional staff. Cashier moved like a slug and looked like he just woke up. Manager would not honor price of item that was clearly marked as $19.99 and didnt offer compensation after making us wait while they sent 3 people to check the price. In this day and age where customers can choose to shop online, failing to go the extra step to provide good service is a poor choice. Bye!

South Hill mall has a great atmosphere to it. Its generally not too crowded or packed to make it uncomfortable. The outside parking is great, as there are plenty of spots around the backside to park at, most of the time you can find a place to park in the shade with the variety of trees outside, though you might have to park further out during the weekends for a shaded parking spot.

The MultiCare Immunization clinic was awesome. They got my daughters shots all up to date and were really fast about it. But I have beef with the play area. Its absolutely disgusting. Every object needs to be wiped down daily, yet the amount of grime that came off on my daughters clothes would suggest that it hasnt been done in a very long time. Filthy. Fix it.

Western Ego

The safest mall in the area. There really isnt anything special about this particular mall other than the cleanliness and the politeness of the staff. I have even witnessed the effectiveness of their loss prevention staff. Whether you are just stopping by to pick something up or going shopping with friends, South Hill Mall can provide a stereotypical mall experience.

I dont come here often anymore as I prefer the selection at the Tacoma Mall over South Hill. But because of the Tacoma Malls remodeling and variety, South Hill is usually a quieter mall. Ive never been a fan of the food court here, but there are plenty of dining options surrounding the mall. But be warned, the restaurants around the mall are usually very busy.

Nothing really exceptional about the mall or its ever circulating employees. Cellphone reception, gps and wifi is extremely bad here, even with all the phone kiosks and stores. Many people playing PokemonGo, taking down gyms together and making new friends....but I would say thank Niantic and Nintendo for that, not the location.

This mall is fine. It feels like it is falling toward the fate of many smaller brick and mortal malls as online businesses increase market share.I wonder if it will be in business in five years time? The facility is usually well cared for, but selection of retailers is limited compared to South Center or Tacoma Mall.
