Today was the last time I will ever go to Joanns. I have put up with their poor customer service for far too long. This morning I went to but some Velcro. Sounds simple right??? Velcro. Just Velcro..... I found what I wanted and attempted to find someone to cut it. Per their usual, there was nobody to be found. I proceeded to the check-out counter as that was the only place I could see someone. I stood at the check-out for several minutes. The manager was right there, fiddling around with one of the registers, and talking to herself. She eventually saw me and called on her radio for someone to come up front and ring, however, her employees were too busy playing hide and seek / chatting with their friends to bother answering. She mumbled something that sounded like a murder plot and I continued to stand there politely waiting to be acknowledged. When the manager saw that nobody was coming, she proceeded, albeit begrudgingly, to come over to help me. By this time someone else joined me in line so she must have felt a little pressure. I set my items on the counter and before I could even ask about cutting the Velcro, the manager started giving me grief about bringing the whole thing to the front counter. I explained that I wasnt sure if it needed to be cut in the first place and there was nobody who available to answer my question in the back of the store. This woman proceeded to talk down ro me and scold me. I got a lecture about "how Joann fabrics works", and wasnt allowed to get a word in edgewise. I was furious by this point. She never offered to get her scissors out and cut me what I need or even call on someone to help. She just made me feel like a complete idiot for bringing a full roll of Velcro to the front. Velcro.... just Velcro.... I politely walked away and tossed my things behind the customer service desk as I knew nobody would be there to be hit by anything. This was the last straw and I will not return. A manger should at the very least know how to communicate with the customers and have Eve the slightest influence on the productivity of their staff. Everytime I go to this location I experience something stupid like this. I get better customer service at The gas station! Fortunately when I got home I found the same Velcro on Amazon for only $6/yd where JoAnn was 12! If youre going to screw over your customers you should at least be polite about it.

Labor Day 2015- I realize that Labor Day sales can create a very busy day for some stores. But shopping @ Puyallups Jo-Ann Fabrics yesturday was the worst experience I have ever had at that store. Its one thing to have to take a number, just to have them cut a piece of trim for me. But to be in the store for an hour and...still....not have your number called and not even be close to having your number called..is BEYOND ridiculous. I wished I could have found scissors and cut it myself. I was ready to GO HOME! But you cant cut the trim yourself. You have to wait for 30 other numbers to be called before yours. I finally gave up, and decided to go and pay for what I had left in my basket. Only to find that the line at checkout, was... again...ridiculously LONNNNG. With only 3 checkers attending to customers. By this time I was fuming inside. I did not enjoy my experience "whatsoever". I wasted over an hour in the store...for nothing....AND I came out...with nothing! (Also..not ever being able to use my coupons that were only good through that day). I just got out of line...and set my basket full of items down and WALKED OUT. On the way to the car, I overheard some women also complaining between one another...how ridiculously slow, the store dealt with the wait time for customers in there. You would think...that given it was a Labor Day Sale day. Jo-Anns would have had a better plan on how to accommodate their customers. More checkers...AND....other ways to get a frickin piece of trim cut without having to wait over an hour... twiddling your thumbs and wasting our time. You should have seen the looks on the womens faces, who had been standing and waiting...and waiting...and WAITING for help. Numbers were being called over the intercom...and there were several over time.. that never answered their number. Everyone knew...it was because they just got tired of waiting and gave up! Honestly..I have to wonder too. How much money Jo-Anns ended up losing that day...all because of the CRAPPY service they gave. You try and support local business. But when they offer such poor service. Either because of lack of service...OR.....not being able to find what you need there. Well...lets just end this by saying.... Ill be shopping at the other craft stores in the area from now on...or online if I have to!

While Jo-Ann Fabrics is the best company around for buying notions and fabric cheaply, one way they keep prices low is by sacrificing service. Every time I have been there it has been staffed with only 4-6 people, making lines at the cut counter long with an average wait of 15 minutes. Then you get in line to check out and end up waiting another 5-20 minutes because they only have one checker on duty. Because all sales representatives are constantly busy with liens of people, there is no one to ask for opinions or help if you are looking for something specific. Also, my Jo-Ann Fabrics does not seem to trust their clientele, so they keep their bathroom locked with a key, which lives at the cut counter where you have to fight for someone to pay enough attention to ask for it. Overall, I will go when I need a notion and can get it 60% off, but I never leave going "Wow Im so glad I went in there! What a great experience!" I really wish this were different.

I have traveled across the country visiting Joann stores as I went because Im a crazy crafting lady! :-) There are lines across the country, there are wait times across the country and its just part of what happens. You have to get the key to the restroom from an associate... again... same thing all across the country. Yes they are short staffed but this is not the employees fault, the employees here are doing the best they can and doing it with smiles, in a clean store :-) Everything was where it was supposed to be when I needed it. My fabric was cut right and I even got a few tips while she was cutting my fabric! Great store, great employees, and great management!!

Long wait in lines to be told you have to buy it online to get the sale price but Web sight wont let you choose the pick up in store option even though it says its available for that.. Tried to buy online and do store pickup but there Web sight sucks and wont let me change to store pickup even though it says they have it in Stock. Then you cant get the online price in store either. So you have to pay to have it shipped or just give up and not get the items. I prefer to go elsewhere. There Store is horrible, never any help on the floor and there Web sight is awful and has false advertising saying available for store pickup then wont let you choose that option.
