I bought a gourami from them that had ich for weeks before but they said it was cured, however right after getting it home it got white spots. I went back and bought medication and carbon to remove it totaling about $50 for the one fish and the stuff to cure it. It died within the return policy. I contacted the fish manager and told him what happened and he replied that it wasnt their problem because he cured it and despite the fish being alone in a brand new tank and Ive never had ich before, it obviously is my fault. I brought in the tank water they said I needed to get a refund. Tried to contact owner several times but he is never at the store except the one day I work. I tried to contact on FB and got no reply TWICE over a ten dollar fish. Due to this experience I have noticed now that a lot of the fish have hole in the head, white fungus patches and theres at least 5-10 fish dead in various tanks at all times Ive visited. Buyer beware. I also dont appreciate your response below, finally after so long. I have expressed my frustration and yes i was not in a happy mood, but Ive never been abusive or violent. I would expect a customer to be upset when an employee says I am responsible for ich when ive never had it before. Why would you put up with a violent and abusive customer over an extended period of time? Because you havent and this is a desperate attempt to explain a bad review. Shame on you!

Excellent selection, knowledge, and healthy fish! I previously went to a competitor, rhymes with "SetPmart" After the 3rd trip back with dead fish... my children were done! Each time I had my tank water tested and everything was spot on. I even waited 48 hours in-between each attempt draining and cleaning the tank each time. We went to The Pet Works and here is what I found. 1. Individually filtered tanks = HEALTHY FISH! 2. Selection!!!! They had a huge selection of fish not found in Box stores 3. Price. In some cases species were cheaper than at "SetPmart" 4. Knowledge, The staff talked with me and my two children for over an hour. Answered all our questions... It was obvious that they were not looking to simply "move fish" but to assist my children and I in properly setting up our tank for success and a future hobby! Update: All 5 of our original fish are still alive after 1 1/2 weeks! We are heading back today to get the 2nd batch to complete our tank. Would absolutely recommend to anyone interested in FISH!!!!!!!

I love going to Pet Works. Everyone was nice and had good knowledge on things but my 5th time there. I took my wife and my son. To go look at some fishes. Seen a verity of nice looking freshwater fish. So i ask one guy there if he knew how much the fish was worth. He commented by saying hes not the fish expert but can get the guy that was. As soon as the gentleman came over. I asked him and his response was. I have no idea what kind of fish that is. It just came in and will not look it up to tell you the price and i dont have time. ( RUDE ) was the thought that came to mind. With that being said. I havent step foot back in that place ever since. I understand that some people will have a crappy day at work or might of got annoyed by things and what not but if you work in a place where you have to deal with people. I say leave your issues at home.

Very Caring and professional grooming staff. A loss of experienced groomers at Steamboat Animal grooming resulted in successive visits where our 12 year old Shi tsu came home with bloody nicks and an awful haircut. Steamboats response: we can put him under anesthesia to groom him! Unbelievable! Calling around, we found multiple pet shops recommending Pet Works, Ryan in particular. Our dog has now been to Pet Works under Ryans care 4 times and has come home handsome, happy, and nick free each time, even wrapped in warm blankets while waiting. Ryan explained that it just takes a little patience and finesses around our dogs face, which he says is not uncommon for older dogs with poor eyesight, but otherwise he does great. Thanks Ryan!

I am so excited to have a new beautiful family owned pet supply store in Olympia! I have visited this store several times since they opened a couple months ago and they keep adding more items and have a gorgeous fish area that I was told is only going to get bigger! They carry high quality food and supplies that are less expensive than others in the area. I recommend them to everyone I know has pets. They also have a beautiful self serve dog wash area and a groomer on site. If you have a dog, cat, small animal, reptiles or fish you really should check them out and support a family owned business~

Knowledgeable staff and very friendly. I dont like the big box stores and this place has everything they have but more. The selection of fish, rodents, birds and reptiles are well cared for and displayed nicely. Most of the staff seem to have been working there forever....well at least as long as Ive been shopping there which is about 2 years. They also carry a wide variety of pet foods from common to exotic. One of my favorites is Hikari frozen fish food and they carry practically every variety. Its one of the only places I can find Hikari frozen fish food.

Every time I have been in here, the staff is always beyond helpful and friendly. I come for the aquarium section, which is incredible. They have a large selection of freshwater fish and shrimp with some of the most unique varieties, many I havent seen anywhere else. The staff in the aquarium department is always so helpful and informative. I almost want to keep it a secret, but I know there are a lot of other hobbyists that would love this place as much as me!

This place is wonderful and service is fantastic! Prices are also very good! I took my Saint Bernard to the self dog wash and the staff was super friendly and helpful towards him and myself. They explained all the amenities that came with the wash and checked up on us throughout to make sure we were doing alright. My dog definitely had a good time and I will be bringing my business to this place from now on! :)

This place is pretty good! We love the dog food deal where if you buy so many you get one free. Also the groomer they have on site is amazing! The kids love her! If I had anything negative to say about this place it would be that their prices are just a bit steep. Bring them down and I"d be delighted! But overall, they are great! Thanks for supplying good things for our kids!!

This a great place to wash your pet. The stations are not intimidating but safely restrains your dog. The price is fair and includes averting you need including many shampoos to choose from, towels, blow dryers and brushes. What I really appreciated was the waterproof apron for me. Molson doesnt look like he enjoyed it as much as I but in all fairness he doesnt like any baths.
