I just shopped for a road bike at three different stores - Big Wheel Bikes, Performance and Spokes. All three had friendly and helpful sales staff. However, I just felt that that I received a far better deal on the bike at Performance than at the other two shops. Plus with their affinity program, I was able to take the points from my bike purchase and trade it in for a nice kids bike for my daughter. So it was a double win for me. On another bike, Ive also used their service department and had a really good experience. The only downside is that you need to book an appointment several weeks in advance.

Zero stars. I have many thousands invested in bikes and other equipment and have placed in endurance events. I went in to buy $2 of valve adapters and the inefficient and rude staff acted like I was wasting my time (which I was in a line for 10 mins). So after trying to enter my life story into the machine I asked if I could just pay the $2 since I was now in a time crunch. So the staff says " I dont have to sell it to you if you are going to make a scene." Seriously? I called my son (who had selected a $3K bike) and we left. I kind of wish I had made a scene. Worst company in Springfield.

This Performance Bicycle Shop is pathetic. The bicycle I purchased was fine, after another bike shop fixed my problems, and the customer service at Performance Bicycle Shop was horrible. When I purchased my bike I was informed they were going to tighten and adjust everything. When I got the bike home the rear tire pressure was low. Two weeks later I my front derailleur is not functioning correctly and my main crank was loose. NEVER EVER purchase a bike at this Performance Bicycle Shop.

I called about a tune up and they are booking over a month out for the full tune up. I brought the bike by just to have the chain greased and a flat fixed and they fit me in right away. The repair gentlemen were super friendly and knowledgeable when asked about future maintenance. Another gentlemen helped me pick out some clip pedals and was very helpful in guiding me towards the right ones for my clip-in shoes. Definitely worth the drive!

Im an experienced rider and mechanic, 40+ years intimately involved in bicycles. This Performance team is well above average for a modern bike shop. They are helpful and responsive. When I need to dig through the discarded parts bin (s) for something obscure, they are always accommodating. I highly recommend that you give them a chance to help you with your bike purchase.

Im not sure why there are so many bad reviews. While I was not there during their interactions with the store, I found they were very helpful! They even helped me put the new bike rack I purchased on our van. Great customer service. Also, they give an additional 10% off for military. Only bike company around here that does so. Here are the facts: I bought a bicycle from Performance Bike at Springfield commons on 06/14/2009. I took it back to them to get it fixed and participated in their maintenance program. I got it back this afternoon without it being fixed and I am very unhappy. The mechanic seemed pleased that I just asked to have the bike back. I am one very disappointed customer!!

My experience with the unprofessional manager at this shop led to contacting corporate and another highly disappointing and offensive conversation with the manager in the Tysons location. Both cared more about the bottom line than service. I will never shop at Performance again. This is after 10years of giving them my business.

Got very bad advice from the repair staff. They told me Id need to order new shifters for about 280 dollars. I gasped, went home googled the problem and found out a common fix to repair that model of stuck shifter was WD-40. Squirted some in and my shifters are working like new.
