I really tire of how people using these rating services to complain or mislead. Someone mentioned that you can get lower prices online... cant you pretty much always do so?? They want to take advantage of a physical store to find out what will look best, ask advice, get their hands on products.... then turn right around and buy online because they are too cheap to pay for the benefit they already took advantage of. And because Micheals has to compete with online warehouses, they try to keep prices low (they almost always have a good discount going on or coupons available) and cant afford to have employees standing by waiting for every customer. Yes, it took a short while to get some assistance, but once someone was free they were very helpful and knowledgeable. Pricing is average, but I always take advantage of sales so am very happy with price. I have priced online, but find it comparable - I dont want to wait, would rather see what I need in person and, yes, I dont like to take advantage of a physical store by turning around and buying online except when there is a significant price difference. Itd be hypocritical to say it was an amazing experience (as is other people complaining about availability of employees but still wanting cheaper products), but I almost always come out with what I need or at least have some good advice about what I need to do.

So disappointed in the Michaels craft store in Springfield. Every time I go in there they never are properly stocked. I spent two and a half hours looking at silk flowers and wreaths for my wedding. I thought it was awesome that I had a 40% discount coupon for one item and the fall flowers were 80% off. They put the signs in front of the flowers and when you get to the cash register they tell you they are not on sale. I was not going to pay over $90 for one little display of flowers, when I can get fresh flowers for that. This is happened to me several times and to others. it is a tremendous disappointment. They wasted my free time and caused a tremendous stress. I walked out.

Check online for prices before you buy from here! I was astonished. I went in to browse for light pads and animation gear... get this: Artograph 12 inch by 9 inch Light Pad Light Box was $179.99 there. Even if you bought it from the Artograph website, its only $139 and you can obviously find it for much cheaper than that on Amazon and such. I thought this was just a fluke but... The Artograph Lighttracer box thats $50 on the Artograph website was $80 there. So I was like "I guess Ill just buy a book so I didnt come here for nothing." I saw the Humongous Book of Cartooning which looked helpful. It was $34. Barnes and Noble has that book for $14.95

This is a very average Michaels, you will have to walk around to find what you need and if you want things in season you cant procrasitnate. I went there for halloween stuff and found only a few remaining items since they had already put out a bunch of Christmas items. This was around the 20th of October...Their framing department is friendly yet SLOW. And, good luck finding somebody to help you without walking all the way back to the front of the store to find a clerk.

This large Michaels has a wide selection of arts and crafts items. You can almost always find a coupon online and theyll scan it from your phone. The checkout line can be very long on weekends and holidays.

I usually come in for Copic markers & detailing pens, but other than that I dont bother with much. There is a lot of stuff everywhere.. too much. I aim for what I want. I get in & get out.

The store itself is okay, but trying to get help is tough. No one around, no customer service. Id like to say that I rarely need help, but it would be nice if someone was around.

While this is your average giant craft store, the staff are great and super friendly. Even when its busy and the line is long, theyre super friendly and get people moving through.

Lots of home decor and craft goods. They normally rotate their discounts so wait until your item goes on sale or use a coupon.
