I waited for 15 minutes for the girl at the counter to acknowledge the fact I was standing in front of the Costas behind the glass case. Finally, (without even saying hello) she informed me that it would be a few more minutes before she would be able to help me, so I went and found a manager. Let me be clear, this girl was so rude i have sworn never to enter another Gander Mountain as long as I shall live, in fact, i have never even reviewed a buisness online before now, but my experience at Gander Mountain of Roanoke was so bad, I took it upon myself to save the general public the hassle of stepping foot into this half assed excuse for a retail store.. On top of that the store manager didnt seem all too concerned, so I wrote an email to customer service. 48 hours later and I havent even got an automated response. Im guessing they either dont care or are too over-run with complaints that mine somehow slipped through the cracks. With this in mind, I dont mind saying that I have made it my lifes mission to ruin your online reputation in hopes of one day living in a world where Gander Mountain is no more. We deserve better. Ive seen your reviews, and im not the only one, if fact, we are multiplying. ever time I take clients down the river in my drift boat, theres gonna be 2 more anglers with their hearts set against you. Have a nice day 3/9/17 update: still no word from the cowards at the corporate offices either, still nothing at all from Gander because they do not care about customer service. update: Colten gave me an email address to respond to below my review, and I did indeed send an email to this address but havent heard back 2 weeks later. do not be fooled, that is just to try to save face on google, they took no action at all. Update!!! I WIN!!! Gander is going bankrupt!!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhhahahahahahhahaha SUCK IT!!!

I have been in this store several times and have found the employees to be very rude. I am in the process of purchasing an AR and have been doing some research. I was in the store last week and pulled a number as indicated by the signs at gun counter Brandon came over and explained that when they are not that busy there is no reason to pull a #. I explained I had been waiting 20 minutes but no one seems interested in helping. he then told me to wait my turn and went back to talking with the previous guy. this has been the overall experience with this store. I will not be going back at any time in the future. It was every intention to buy a fire arm from them but they have no interest in answering questions or going over them with you. I guess commission is not worth it if he had only known that I had the cash in my pocket to pay for it maybe he would have seemed a little more interested. Thank you for nothing Gander Mountain and I will take my business somewhere else who seems interested in helping. Very Disappointed and still looking for a firearm company wanting my money...2000 budget could have bought about any AR they sold

I love this store and visit often pick up items or just browse. I purchased some shoes via ship to store from some very nice ladies in the shoe depth but when they arrived they were wrong size. Guy in shoe depth said to simply go to front desk to get a refund as I had paid for them in advance. No problem. When I approached the lady at the counter I immediately got a huge dose of attitude! Evidently some internal policy had not been followed and she decided to take it out on me. She insisted I tell her the exact amount I had paid before she would issued a refund. I had paid in advance and the shoes had never left the store! I felt I was being treated as a thief! Fortunately I had an email from the previous week that I had to show her before I could get my money returned. KEEP IN MIND THE SHOES NEVER LEFT THE STORE AND HAD BEEN PAID FOR THE PREVIOUS WEEK! Very poor customer service.

Firstly, terrible customer service. Even if I am the only person in the store, I still have to take a number for any help at the firearms counter. All of their prices are extremely exorbitant. In some cases well over 40% more than any other big box store. Bought a firearm from here and it took 2 hours. It wasnt because of a problem with the NICS/state check either. It was because the employee didnt know how to do a 4473. If they didnt make me pay first, I would have walked out long before he did. This is not atypical, a friend of mine has had this happen both times that he has purchased a firearm here as well. Lastly, on the way out I was asked to check my bag like a thief at the firearm counter (the bag never moved). The clerk as the firearms counter radioed ahead, and I was bag checked again. This is a terrible store, and I will never go back again. Go ANYWHERE else.

First, let me say ,my first review ever and I am 55 years old, so you know Im mad.i called about a gun in 40 cal being in stock and was told yes.drive over 45 miles to find the gun in stock is 9 mm.Mad,i try to make the best of it and buy some ammo that has a rebate, get in long line to pay and when its my turn the cashier leaves.i look around she has moved to a different register with out saying a word. She does let us cut in after she rings up a few new custermers and I address her about leaving me hanging ,my wife tells her not to worry about it,she says Shes not, really not. They also told me rebate ran out yesterday which was completely false.Anyhow ,people make the business ,and this business sux!.

Great shopping experience here, except for clothing. If you need fishing/ hunting/outdoor gear, there a great selection at Gander Mountain. The clothing is another matter. Selection is fine, but I needed to try things on and the strict "3 items only" rule in the dressing room meant I couldnt even take 2 outfits in! (top and pants) The store was relatively empty when I last visited, so no one was waiting to use the changing room, so I asked if I could take two shirts and two pants in, and the answer was "no." I wanted to try on a variety of things, and I just gave up and left. For other items though, Gander Mountain offers quality and variety, and its good to have them in Roanoke.

I applied there for a job the day after the job was posted. The day after I applied I went in and introduced myself and was told they would call me back for an interview. Weeks went on and I continued to visit and call the store and even spoke with the hiring manager who also told me that she would give me a call back to schedule an interview. I waited another week and finally called again and spoke with the hiring manager who said, "Oh hey I remember you, but currently all our positions have been filled." They never called even though they said they would five times. I hope they dont waste anyone elses time like they did mine.
