I was so upset because first we waited over 30 minutes on the money center line, then when I got to the front the lady sent the got right in front of us away and said they dont pay bills there... Then when he walked away I heard them talking about how they actually do pay bills there so I asked... They said "pay here at your own risk".... Wow..I was stunned... Not quite sure what they meant by that but anyway I went on to my next question and handed her a Walmart Visa card and said that I would like to get this boy can you tell me more information about it first.... This very rude, unprofessional woman flat out said "no girl, I dont know nothin bout those" then just stood there looking at me... Are you freaking kidding me..I flat out looked at her and said does anyone here know anything about what goes on behind this counter... The girl just looked at me..I couldnt believe it...I finally said keep the card, I dont want it anymore and walked out.... She didnt even try to get answers to help sell me a Walmart Visa card... She acted stupid and dumb and like it was too much work to put on the effort to stand behind the money center register. It was ridiculous ....I really needed that Visa card and got nowhere

The stores itself is clean and neat. But, they need to work harder to keep it stocked better, especially on weekends and night. The biggest problem is that in the evenings, nights and on weekends, you have e to wade through a sea of panhandlers to get in and out of the store and management has done nothing about getting security to run these people off and keep them from harassing customers, even though I have complained and I am sure others have too. The last 2 times I was there, the panhandlers have been INSIDE the store wanting to exchange gift cards for cash or wanting you to purchase something using their gift card, in exchange for for cash. As a handicapped person, this puts me at more risk for being potentially harmed, because they seem to make a bee line to me as soon as they see my canes. I have stopped going to this store because of this, even though it is within walking distance or scooter distance. If you dont want to be harassed, dont go to this store. Yes, there are police on site, but they can do nothing unless management okays it, since it is private property. So, it does no good.

Just got done waiting in front of the ammo case for half an hour. Talked to an employee at first who told me they would be on their way with keys, but later told me somebody else was looking for them still. After standing there for 30 minutes another employee walked by & said the keys were in the lock box for the night. I showed up before the curfew but of course that didnt matter. This is just one example of many issues with this store. Im officially done with this place. Absolute trash, just like the employees. Also waited in the checkout line for 25 minutes since theyre too incompetent to open more than 2 lanes.

This store is somewhat less well-stocked than other WalMarts, and like most large stores in Portsmouth they obviously have a serious problem with theft. Some dullards who have never purchased a car battery (evidently because they tell their kids to steal them) dont understand the standard battery core charge and are foolish enough to announce their stupidity in public. In fact, this WalMarts core charge policies are the same as all other stores in this respect. On a positive note, there is now documented proof that stupid parents beget stupid kids.

I shake my head and as a last resort go into Walmart unless I just simply have to. I will order online and make a bee line to pickup and get out quickly. Last I was in the store, a fight broke out at the front door, near the cashier/subway/deli area. It took management several minutes to get up front. Customers were trying to restrain the female offenders. Just no longer a respectable place in addition to the long lines. Pricing may be competitive but the quality experience is horrible.

If I could give this place no stars I would!!!!! I haaaaaaaaaaaate when I have to come to this location smh I live in portsmouth so this is the closest one to me. They are so unprofessional and never have enough help on the floor and ALWAYS have their customers waiting smh. Its so much more I could say but then I would have to write a book. I hate it here so much I will go to another walmart farther away from my house.

This is a awful Walmart poor customer service very rude and disrespectful managers an associate was terminated and didnt know the reason why and was not given a reason why the managers assistance manager and supervisors are very unprofessional and need to be reported I will no longer shop at this Walmart and I will make sure that everyone I know stops shopping at this Walmart until something is done about it

AWFUL!! Dwight is useless!! Took him 40 minutes to stroll himself over to assist my cashier, refused to help research my warranty, sent me to another department and tried arguing with the 1800 when they told him I was intitled to a replacement. This place should find them selves a new manager!!! The icing on the cake was when Dwight told us to never come here again!! No worries you ignorant human we wont!!

I start with the negatives. This Walmart is usually not all that well organized and I find quite often it is either out of a product or doesnt carry a certain product that other Walmarts have an abundance of or carry. Otherwise, the staff is always friendly and helpful. And this particular Walmart location is never actually all that busy, which is a nice benefit over other locations!

The staff is awful, the people who shop here have no common sense or manners it seems like. I live by Victory and drive past this Walmart and go to the one in Chesapeake square (although their service is not great by any means). Theyve had a shooting there, a stabbing, and fights break out? Welcome to Portsmouth. Never go here on food stamp day either.

I have never been to a walmart with such poor customer service. When i tried to complain about the TERRIBLE service i was hung up on I tried to call again and they kept hanging up on me. Do not go to this walmart it is the worst one I have ever been to 30 check out registers but only 3 open. If you want to keep your sanity do not visit this one.

Read the reviews and just want people to understand that the city has no impact on your experience in wal mart. Also half of the people that rated it low and said its ghetto probably just was having a bad day. All in all wal mart will always be wal mart. Do the stores in the other 6 cities not take food stamps lmao. Get a life people

This Walmart is by far the worst place in the area. Its ghetto, dirty, and unorganized. I ordered photos that were supposed to be printed and ready within an hour, showed up two hours later, and the photos werent even printed yet. I feel I shouldnt even have to have paid for them. This store is the definition of abysmal.
