Saturday afternoon; five salespeople on floor and only two were with customers. Waited five minutes to get help in mens shoes department. Obtaining information from the salesperson was like pulling teeth - at best he was reactive. Also, pulled out one box of shoes, found two left shoes, salesperson stated that there were no other shoes in that style and size in the store; salesperson blamed distribution center for packaging the shoes incorrectly. Since the store did not have many sizes of the shoes I was interested in, it was hard to determine what the correct size was. I asked the salesperson if the store could order 3 or 4 pair, send them directly to the store where I could try them on, and buy the pair that fit (hopefully). Salesperson didnt know if the store could do that and he went to find a manager. Dont you think that would be a common question? Manager said I could pay upfront for 3 or 4 pairs of the shoes, have them shipped to the store, try them on to see if any fit, purchase what did fit, and get a credit for those pairs of shoes that did not fit. This experience is the total antithesis of shopping at REI; unfortunately, REI does not ever carry the shoes Im looking for. Store also seemed to have the undercurrent of elitism, but maybe that is to be expected given its location.

I ordered a bike Wednesday morning. I got an email which said Id get a follow up email when my item was shipped. I didnt receive anything so I called them Friday afternoon. They said they couldnt verify my billing address for my card so it never went through. Why they didnt call me is questionable. Since the only email I currently had was one that said I had just paid them a bunch of money, I asked for a confirmation that they cancelled the order. CONNIE at customer service was so rude, she wouldnt let me finish talking, she made smart comments under her breath. So I said, "what youre telling me is there in no confirmation number for the cancellation" (I would in law, I get everything in writing, remember now, I only have a receipt say I PAID) she said no because it never went through. Thats find, but mind you there is no update of the status of my purchase when you click to check order status, and if I end up with a $500 charge on my card, I want to be able to dispute it. She was rude and short and all she had to say was Im sorry, we dont have a confirmation number but you can call us if you have any issues.. My first experience with LL BEAN. Wont even consider them again.

I have been receiving LL Bean catalogs since I was a boy, but only started shopping with them about a year ago. On a corporate level, LL Bean stands by their product like few others. If you have a problem with their product ANY TIME (1 month, 1 year, 10 years), return it for a refund or exchange. I have had two pair of Chinos rip in the same spot (right leg, just below rear pocket) and after a year they exchanged it without hassle or question. Their product quality is great (especially with LL Bean Signature) and fits well. On a store level, the folks in this store are always more than helpful. This past visit I dealt with Ming and Yadiel. Ming made sure I didnt carry around twenty tons of product through the store by holding them up front. Yadiel made it easy to find my receipt when the one on my phone failed me. If youre going to part with your hard-earned money, you might as well spend it with a company that clearly cares about the customer and wants to keep you for the long term. Theyve been in business for 105 years and its easy to see why. Thanks, LL Bean!

I purchased a coin from an ebay merchant for $1465.07. I was billed for $1727.09 by LL bean visa credit card. I made repeated calls and no one at LL bean was intelligent enough to understand this simple problem. I disputed the charge 3 times and LL bean was no help. It turned out that the ebay merchant was a scam. I have an email from the ebay merchant stating that most of the amount charged was credited to my account ($1601.00). I sent all this information to LL bean and notified them over the phone of my status. LL bean still continues to bill me for the entire original amount plus interest and penalties- even after 3 letters supporting the problem. Basically, LL bean and Barclays Bank are desperate for money....and they are not concerned about the credit card customer.

L.L.Bean is the best retailer on the internet. If you have an issue with an item they send to you, they accept immediate returns. And they sell high quality products. I had a strap that was coming loose from a backpack I bought from them 8 years ago. I called and explained that I was upset that that the backpack had not lived up to my expectations. They asked me to return it. I did, and they sent me a new backpack within two weeks. I am not certain if it is the same backpack or is a new one. I only know that it is the same backpack and that it is completely repaired or that they sent me a new one. I am going to buy more from L.L. Bean. I have never seen such a level of care and service from any other company and continue to buy from them.

Staff here can sometimes leave something to be desired (especially in the shoe section), but the store is great. Excellent returns policy, and its nice to be able to order something online and return or exchange in person. Also very nice to be able to try things on in person before ordering, and to not have to worry about things being out of stock like they can be online. I have also had great experiences having things shipped from other stores when this one has been out of a particular style or size.

Im highly disappointed in l l bean, Ive been shopping here for over 15 years The past couple years I have noticed The merchandise is made in china now The quality is just not there like it use to be, I guess llbean is just another sell out. in my opinion ll bean is selling out the american people for profit and american people are the ones who made l l bean and this is how we are repaid with inferior product. Im not shopping here anymore F@#$ L L BEAN..

I recently made a large purchase of kayak and racks at this store and there was a snafu with the order that caused me to have to wait several weeks for the proper product. The Tysons corner staff couldnt have been more gracious and kind in correcting the problem. Its these sorts of moments where a company really shows its colors in terms of customer service. It was an honest mistake, they totally made it right and now they have a customer for life.

We have been customers for many years, for ourselves and two children. Prices (look carefully for sales) and quality are very good. The replace it at any time guarantee is for real -- Im now on my more or less identical third barn coat after the first two developed holes and lost buttons after several years each, which normally would have meant buying a new one. Staff is consistently friendly and helpful.
